Daft Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 All I want to know is that it's PS3 exclusive, if I'm totally honest.
Choze Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 All I want to know is that it's PS3 exclusive, if I'm totally honest. Not sure at all. Plus PSP is heavily hinted with the Japan audience thing imo.
Domo Kun Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Grey Fox has his eye buggered up whilst fighting Rex in the Twin Snakes but not in the original. Perhaps?
Daft Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I like the idea that it is Sonny in the future. Same coloured eyes.
MATtheHAT Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I have hardly kept up with all these countdown shenanigans. But to me it looks like MGS4 DLC, in the same way Rockstar has done with GTAIV - TLAD. Maybe an expansion pack covering Raiden and Big Boss's story. *Shrug*
Ryan Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Explains how they'd be able to crank it out within a year or so.
flameboy Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Explains how they'd be able to crank it out within a year or so. Yeah there is a train of thought going round that this is the case... and what you've said would back it up, but to be fair they could just show 10 seconds of CGI and that would be enough for Metal Gear fanboys to get whipped up and then actually start making it...

Which I think was the case with the MGS4 announcement, they made it in the Snake Eater PS2 engine didn't they

Bren Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 /In before Dante :P And it continues. On and on and on. Kojima Productions updated its countdown page today, revealing this image. Is it Raiden? Is it Gray Fox? Is it Sunny? Who knows? Kojima does, that's who. Him and his minions. There are also new letters: C, O, P. There's the number six, too. The site also sports a new Kojima Productions logo in the bottom corner. When it changes to a mask, click on the image, and it takes you to another site. That site has this: http://kotaku.com/5272382/kojima-updates-site-yet-again-with-familiar-face-hidden-mystery-mask wooop

Pretty safe to say it can't be raiden I mean look at it compared to this pic from MGS4; Eye Color (amongest other things) is the most obvious difference. I'm thinking a newly fitted out Gray Fox.
Caris Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 It could be Raiden, it's not the hardest of things to make a excuse why his eyes have changed colour. Foxdie might have done it?
CoolFunkMan Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 PS3/360/PC???? I can make those out, which could suggest it's a multiplatform Metal Gear. But then it's probably too soon to decode it. When is this... whatever it is... properly revealed?

Retro_Link Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) If it was Grey Fox, wouldn't the suit look less high tech than the one used in MGS4 and worse than the one he's wearing in MGS1/TTS. To me the suit looks more advanced than the one Raiden wears in MGS4, which would lead me to think it's set further in the future and go with the Raidens son theory. Edited May 29, 2009 by Retro_Link
Mundi Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 They still haven't announced the bloody game? See the MGS series is advanced like that, they don´t need to show teasers or trailers showing gameplay, hints at the story or new features (That is so last year!) All they need to do is show a picture of the weather and a character from the series with different eye colour and people start losing sleep over what it could all mean. So any bets on the countdown that ends at the start of E3 is just the start of another countdown and/or vague teaser? But seriously, as much as I like the MGS games (and I really do) the creators make it really hard to like them
Goafer Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 If it does end up being Sunny, I totally called it first! Although I was joking... And the picture of Raiden that's from a trailer freaks me out a bit. He looks creepy.

Sony have been doing similar cryptic things since the PS1 days. Edge did a feature on it a few months back very interesting actually.
Daft Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I don't really see why it should effect people's opinions of the creators. It's just marketing and in the end, people are excited to hear about any news so why not? I'm not really hyped up for it any more. I'm just ready for E3.
