3DS eShop Thread

Don't have a clue, I just set it to sleep mode download. Haven't returned to the 3DS since, but considering that nothing about this has been mentioned I think they're just fixing up some bugs and doing some general improvements.

I'll give it a go a bit later on.

Wow! So there's not one, not two, but three different Picross games on 3DS now!

Cave Story is going to be released on the NA eShop on 4/10/12 at $9.99

Cave Story for eShop Features:

4:3 and REAL widescreen support. YES!

Multi-layered 3D depth (and lots of it!)

Additional Challenge modes (including Nemesis Challenge, Boss Rush, Curly Story, Hell Time Attack and Wind Fortress!)

And all the other stuff you love: over 20 epic boss battles, 15 levels to explore in the vast world, 10 unique weapons to find and upgrade, four unique endings

So yeah, still no PAL release date.

This is why I haven't bought Cave Story 3D, I want this version.

Can't wait till 2014 for Cave Story 3DS!

Edit: Denpa Ningen (Now known as The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave) getting released in the US on September 27!

Should be a demo coming as well if the old Siliconera story (that was taken down, seemingly because they broke some sort of embargo) is anything to go by.

Speaking of Picross, I wasn't expecting much when finishing Picross e, but it would have been nice if the ending message had at least been grammatically correct. "We hope you continue to have fun in world of Picross", indeed. :blank:

I need more Picross now, Nintendo. It doesn't have to be that new 80x80 game, but something more ambitious than Picross e would be nice.

I'll be catching up with the Wii VC & WiiWare when I get the WiiU.

Anyway, who's been keeping an eye on the recently released Fractured Soul (NA eShop)?

I've been reading some reviews and it sounds like a totally fun, hardcore 2D platformer!

I want this soon on the PAL eShop!

Here are some review:

btw, does anyone use the 'watch list' on the eShop? I've got about 10-15 titles on there that I want or have an interest in.

Hmm, I might still go for Unchained Blades, as long as it's not too expensive (and is released here, of course).

Denpa Ningen/Denpa Men is seriously my most-anticipated game at the moment. Perhaps it's naive to think it can recreate that Dragon Quest IX feel, but I hope to be able to find out.

Game Freak are working on getting Harmo Knight out in the west!

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/09/24/game-freak-hopes-to-release-harmo-knight-outside-japan

“In terms of a North American or European release, it's definitely something we'd like to do, but we're working out the details with Nintendo now and seeing what would be the best way to get that to players,” he said

Not that I had any doubt that they'd want to see it get released over here. No reason why it shouldn't happen eventually really.

Slightly off topic is another interesting quib from that interview...

As for how this distinctly non-Pokemon game came to be, Masuda said it was conceived by James Turner, a British national who works at Game Freak. He and his team of 25 people have apparently been working on Harmo Knight for about a year and a half.

“Within Game Freak, we've implemented a kind of new system where employees can come up with original ideas for their games,” he said. “If they can find at least three co-workers to jump on the project and say they want to do it together, then they'll be able to proceed with that project.”

This company policy isn’t just to encourage the creation of cool, new IPs - it’s also meant to improve the quality of the Pokémon series. “One of the nice things about smaller projects like that is... since it's a project that you really wanted to do, you've kind of signed on to do that project. You're really interested in it,” he said. “There's also very few people and a short schedule, so everyone has to work on multiple aspects that they might not normally work with. So by doing that, you really build up experience, which translates back into the Pokémon games.”

Interesting to see that Nintendo's 2nd party studios are now taking on the Nintendo SPD model of having very small projects being started by a very small group that expands later on (Rhythm Heaven and its team of 5 people is perhaps the best example!)

Here's hoping it makes these kinds of projects much more commonplace at Game Freak! :D

Good to hear, but also disappointing as it's unlikely we'll be seeing it this year if they're still just "working on it". :indeed:

And where the hell is Sakura Samurai at?!

Wasn't that classification malarkey supposed to indicate that the game would be released soon? :blank:

Man, the eShop is becoming a right eFlop. :heh:

Knowing Nintendo, it'll probably just appear on the eShop next week with no warning whatsoever

In the meantime you can shoot down some chickens if you want?......

in 3D?......

Chicken Island is home to countless perils, hidden extras, and pirates who are by no means willing to surrender themselves without a fight. Point and shoot at birds as they scurry through the island, and plunge bravely into the waves. Complete your raid by slaying pirates and collecting hidden treasures.

£1.80 / €2.00

I see Japan is getting Mario Golf Gameboy Color version next week. Jammy gits!

No mention of multiplayer or transfer pak support though :(

Maybe when MG64 hits the Wii U VC?

Edit: Wow! Australia is getting VVVVVV next week (October 4), damn that's late!
