Yes, I know we have the arcade thread, but as with Geometry Wars, this is also too damn good!

It's definately the best XBLA game out there.

Anybody who complains that there aren't any original games out there and then doesn't buy this game is a complete moron!

I'd never heard of it before downloading the trial to be honest (this is why WiiWare games need trials), but here it is for people who don't know what it's about

It's a platformer, but not as we know it. You manipulate time in one way or another, either by rewinding with X, or on some levels, simply by moving back and forward.

Download the trial if you haven't already

Great game, suffers from being short, though, apparantly. Shame it's 1200 points, it's stopped a lot of people from going the extra distance.

It's really not that short. It's worth every one of the 1200 points.

People are seeing the gameplay from the demo and so on and thinking; 800 game. But when you finish it, and see everything there is around it, it's well worth it.

As far as I can gather, Tim is a guy (not a kid) who was happily married until he saw someone and fell in love with her instantly (the "princess") and starts stalking her - up to a point where he is spying on her form her balcony, so she runs away to her boyfriend (the knight).

Although I'm not entirely sure how this ties into world's 2 to 6, except that the ring signifies that whenever it's on show it slows down the progress of him finding the princess.

And it suggests that he has something to do with inventing the nuke.

Apparently there are some hidden stars which creates a slightly different ending.

I'm not entirely convinced that it should have been 1200 points, but it's still a great game.

It's pretty fun. Smart and clever. (Points aren't a problem to me because I wasn't the one who bought it...)

Don't think I'll be able to complete it, though. But I'll give it a go... :hmm:

All the hard puzzles make you look like an idiot when you finally figure them out. In a good way.

I have about 8 pieces remaining to collect in total.

There's one especially that's getting on my tits and thats on World 4 where you have to kill the 8 or so enemies to open up the top door but of course running to the left rewinds everything and they come back again, it's driving me mad. I don't want a solution from someone just wondering if anyone here has done it and if it's one of those head smackingly simple ones that catch you out.

EDIT: Reading Dan's post and to put things simpler, it's the one he just described. lolz

It's pretty simple if you think about it logically in fact you even pointed out the key thing about the level.

Not a solution, but a hint on the World 4 hunt.

You obviously have to kill them from left to right, so walk from left to right and work out which ones are above or below you from left to right and kill them in that order

Just finished this without much trouble (nice for my ego), the Hunt 2 level was also the weirdest one to me. But god damn, I can't make sense of the story or the ending.

So the ending was actually the beginning, and apparently his a stalker that scares the "princess" away, what the heck is the rest of the game? Is he still stalking her or perceiving that she's been kidnapped? And why don't half of the green books at the end say something?

Ain't Braid fantastic? You'll never know. There's tons of philosophies about the games' story and ending out there if you can be bothered to look. One of the most popular theories is that the princess

is an atomic bomb

and a lot of the books do point to that. Just try not to think about it too much :heh:

If its that's the intended interpretation I'm slightly disappointed, it's disconnected from the actual game and doesn't sound minimally interesting when compared to all the emotional and philosophical approaches it seemed to be pointing at. I guess I expecting more of a life lesson.

Well that is the life lesson, or something, god I dunno. Something about you not being the saviour by wanting the "princess" so much or god knows what. It's a mindfuck for sure. Go read some peoples' theories, some are mental!
