Sounds promising then, guess I'll wait and see. It does look like it's shaping up to be a good game, I'm just very skeptical but i prefer being that way, better to not hype it up.

I do look forward to seeing where companies take Wii RPG's from PS2. I'm hoping with the promise of better graphics not being enough to be a 'selling point' as such, we see alot more experimentation and innovation in the genre - something akin to The World Ends With You. I don't think this is the right game for that, but this seems to have it's place.

And yeah, it's a nice list but we're not going to see alot of them until 2010 in Europe, and beyond. I don't really know why I expect I'll be able to get this in Europe for summer though, oh well.

I guess my fear is playing RPG's on the Wii is just going to be like playing them on the PS2... but not as fresh, and new. I'm sure there'll be exceptions once Square Enix get their ass in gear :).

That's a good approach might I say. I'm more of the type that wants to get hyped over stuff.

That indeed sucks. *sobs* I want me RPG's.

Hmmm, tbh they didn't feel that fresh on the PS2 either for me, and... I feel Square-Enix is the worse company qhen it comes to originality in a RPG.

Seriously, I want Atlus, I want Namco, to focus all they can here and give me fresh approaches (fresh approaches, not freaking lesser spin-off's); and I absolutely Love Monolith (but we purchased them, they ain't going anywhere) and Overworks (Skies of Arcadia) and Camelot. Square-Enix? not so much, they can take their one man show (Nomura's) elsewhere.

I'd buy them if they were here and all, but I can't say I'm hyped for any FFXIII project or KH project for that matter (and I own multiple platforms to whom they're coming).

Their production values are big, and that's good, they drag other companies into the market they oversaturate and I like that... but when it comes to actually enjoying their games... I have to say that it's been quite a while since I enjoyed a Square-Enix game. (I want to know what Matsuno is doing though, and Crystal Bearers interests me ONLY because it's the FF9 team doing it; which for me is better than any flashy Nomura project)

Nintendo Power Info:

- "Now that publishers have had time to feel out what does and doesn't work on Wii, Mizutani (Marvelous Producer) and producer Ryoie Mikage of ImageEpoch expect to see the dearth of Wii RPGs come to an end."

- Part of the Tales of Symphonia team (game designer, CG director, scenario writer, and main battle programmer - among others) are working on the game. They say it feels like a Tales game, as a result.

- You see the enemies on the field, so no random battles.

- "Instead of the Tales series' frantic real-time battling, Arc Rise Fantasia uses an original turn-based system with a dash of strategy-RPG flavor. In our early version of the game, the battle system is a clear highlight,"

- Battles load quickly. "The trio has a set number of ability points to spend each turn, and you can distribute them however you like - by having your best fighter attack three times, for example, or by having each member attack once."

- The main story will be around 30 hours plus optional side quests.

- The game doesn't use IR or waggle, but some of the optional casino mini-games will.

- They say it's nice to hear Mitsuda working on a disk-based platform again.

- "As proud as the developers are of Arc Rise Fantasia's battle system, soundtrack, and character designs, both men go straight for the storyline when asked to name the team's primary focus. ... The game features a huge supporting cast, dozens of plot threads, and a worldview built around numerous intersections between divinity and technology."

- "the stage is set for a perfect storm of political upheavals, spiritual awakenings, and ecological catastrophe. What more could you ask for from Wii's first original RPG epic?

Casino? Win!

Plot with "political upheavals, spiritual awakenings, and ecological catastrophe"? Win, again!

Sounds good, bring it on.

Lotsa stuff there to look at, good work pedro! I feel undecided on the graphics because in some shots things don't look too bad, then in others it just appears to be shoddy. The art is cool, especially combined with the character bios.

I don't understand why some of the latest images for this are looking jaggy around the edges. I mean, it looks fantastic in motion, really beautiful, so don't know what they're doing when getting the images.

More news... the composer is not just Mitsuda, it is Mitsuda, Shunsuke Tsuchiya (Luminous Arc 2 and World Destruction/Sands of Destruction) and... a new name, Yuki Harada, who never did videogame music before and was aparently specifically scouted by Mitsuda... he's previous work includes movie soundtracks and orchestrated music:

Listen to Mickle Fails That Fools Think guys! :D(specially 3:20 onwards)... This dude can add something to the score if he can meet that standard I think!

This is the first time that I've really looked at this game and I can't say that I recon I'd put my money on the line for this one.

The artwork just seems like a collection of anime cliches. I'm tired of shounen and although I haven't looked into the gameplay very much, I don't see that much holding my attention. I'm out...
