ThePigMarcher Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 On one of the 1st world levels I had to finish the level without hitting any water, I was flying through it until I hit a point where it looks as though you have to fall into it. This one will take some working out.... If it's the one I am thinking of then I am still trying to work that out , it's right towards the end on the way back after saving the Merfle as well. Back to the drawing board. I finished the 2nd world before going to bed last night, the 2nd boss is a riot. That was a blast , although it did take me a little while to figure out at first Got past the 3rd boss battle last night , but instead of going forward I am probably going to spend today going back to replaying the earlier levels as there is still a lot that needs unlocking. Managed all the challenges on the first two levels but still missing a lot elsewhere so would rather go back and do some of those rather than trying to finish the main game too soon.
Hellfire Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Had to lol at this in the review: Reading that I instantly knew it was Hellfire who wrote it:indeed: :P Is it a lie though? I was going to write it another way, that unfair comparisons are always drawn because since this genre is always short, but compared to others in terms of longevity. This way, it's easier to get the point across lol
Serebii Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Am annoyed that I have to try and go slow with this lol Got it at 12 and already got 2 worlds done as well as done loads of work :/ Its good fun though, when the motion sensing isnt being glitchy in the cannons
Gizmo Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I have to say I like the sound of these challenges more from the posts above. Like actual puzzles within the platforming, rather than just "do it this fast / gather this much stuff". Still haven't had much time with the game but I'm glad I bought it
Mike Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I cancelled my order with Play.com earlier, as it still hadn't been sent by this morning, and I've since tried to find a copy in six different shops, with no luck!
Ganepark32 Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Still contemplating getting this. I don't have the money for it (typical student) and I could have traded something in for it today in Gamestation but I wasn't wanting to let go of any of my games. The only one I might get rid of is Okami yet I've started playing through it again for the second time. Hmmmm.... what to do?
Hero-of-Time Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 Everyone thinking of buying this should really jump on the bandwagon and join in on the fun. As far as im concerned this game is amazing and is up there with Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda TP as an essential Wii purchase. Im on the 4th boss now and man is he a pain. I got frustrated with myself and just ended up knocking it off. I've been up since 5 so my tolerance level is zero So far the best world for me has been the 3rd one. The train level at the start of world 3 is great and I think the level design for the Casio level is pure genius.

The train level is also my favourite. Wasn't there a train level in one of the older Wario Lands?

Hero-of-Time Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 I enjoy them too but some require so much precision its annoying :p I usually go for the speed ones on my first run through the level. Hitting the checkpoint and then hitting retry if you knack up the escape makes for an easy victory
ThePigMarcher Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I just beat him, and yeah, he is a pain to beat. Th etrain levbel is also my favourite. Wasn't there a train level in one of the older Wario Lands? Looks like I did the right thing in replaying the earlier levels (without too much success ) instead , that fourth boss doesn't sound like much fun. And yep , also agree that the train and casino levels were awesome.

Im sure I need alot more cash to by the 5th map anyway.
Mike Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Just tried another two shops (Toys R Us and ASDA) and they didn't have it, so that's eight shops I've tried now. I give up for the evening.

I give up for the evening. Wow, that's pretty crazy. Was WHSmiths one of those 8? If I recall correctly they're sometimes quite good for hard to find / "sold out" games. Anyway, good luck with the search man.
Ike Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Just beat the 5th boss, he was pretty easy. Looks like I'm onto the final level, but i think I'll go back to the older levels first.
Serebii Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Anyone else find any of the secret levels? I found one by accident. The exit of it is well tricky...gotta aim the cannons precisely. I gave up :p
ThePigMarcher Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I have still only found the one (by accident also). I have just spent bleeding ages trying to get the 3rd Treasure Chest in Whoopsy Desert. I can see the thing but just can't quite figure out how to get the thing , and I have an idea or two but it just isn't coming together.
Hellfire Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I just beat him, and yeah, he is a pain to beat. The train level is also my favourite. Wasn't there a train level in one of the older Wario Lands? Wario Land 2 for GB had one. What's this I hear about trouble pointing the canon? Never had any problems oO Won't be able to play this weekend, my Wii is in Lisbon and I came to my hometown :P Well, I already have like 15 hours on it, so I suppose I can't complain lol
Hero-of-Time Posted September 27, 2008 Author Posted September 27, 2008 I was reading this months ONM and at the back they have a Wario Land tips section. They list what levels the secret maps are on and here they are... [spoiler=] 1-2 1-2 2-3 2-5* 3-4 3-5* 4-3 4-4 4-6* 5-3 5-5* 5-4 *-means that the stage itself is a secret stage Before I went to bed last night I finished all but one of the levels 100% on world 3. I was well happy as I unlocked the trains stage music and sat there listening to it for a few mins. All of the reviewers who said the music was bad in this game want a slap!
Eenuh Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Question: someone mentioned that the game contains an update that blocks the Freeloader. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
Ganepark32 Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 All releases after Smash Bros was released in Europe carry the firmware that blocks the Freeloader. Well, at least I think it's only Nintendo's games that carry the updates.
dazzybee Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 No it doesn't. You don't need to do any update to play this game.
Mike Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Finally found a copy of this this morning, and I've played through the first three levels so far. Loving the graphics, the music and all the shaking, but I wish there were a few more transformations, like in the other Wario Land games. It also seems to be less 'wacky' than Wario Land 4, which is a shame. Nevertheless, I'm certainly enjoying it so far.

You get more transformations as the game goes on such as the classic Flame Wario and Snowball Wario. Im have just fully finished world 3 now, all challenges, secret maps, treasures and levels done. Now to finish the last secret level on world 1 and thats that fully done aswell. I still havent beaten the 4th or 5th worlds bosses yet either. I really want to get back on Megaman 9 but im so loving this game
Ike Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Question: someone mentioned that the game contains an update that blocks the Freeloader. Can anyone confirm if this is true? It does, I used my freeloader to bypass it and it works fine.
