Hero-of-Time Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 So all these out the end of the year! Home LBP Buzz Resistance 2 Motorstorm 2 AND we have MGS4 next month, thats bloody brilliant if you ask me! Out of them titles due for release at the end of the year there is only Resistance I want. HOME isnt out til next year, just the beta this year and as for LBP I love the look of it but just what exactly do you do? Im not a big fan of games that have no goal such as Animal Crossing so I doubt I will like it. Im hoping E3 will offer a glimpse of alot more titles due out before Christmas otherwise my PS3 will be gathering dust....alongside my Wii
Owen Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Shit, forgot about Haze as well! I'm not with it today, my gaming knowledge has gone out the window! I'm also looking forward to Wipeout HD (i just hope it's slightly easier to control, cause i do have trouble..). Out of them titles due for release at the end of the year there is only Resistance I want. HOME isnt out til next year, just the beta this year and as for LBP I love the look of it but just what exactly do you do? Im not a big fan of games that have no gaol such as Animal Crossing so I doubt I will like it. OK...You ok mate? Or am i being paranoid? Just seem a little too the point in your replys, which isn't like you...ignore me if i'm wrong, it's probably me... EDIT: Infact, it is me...don't worry bout it..i've gone through a bit of shit lately..so i'm way too paranoid!
Owen Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Haze demo is out. I may just have time to download that! I'm running to the PS3 now! Thanks for letting us know! EDIT: Quite a bit added wasn't there? Quite interested in some of the trailers as well!
tapedeck Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 How long does the Haze demo take to download over a wireless connection? Can't wait for LBP and Home...Would be nice to see some excellent suprise 3rd party offerings at E3 too.
Caris Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Yeah, feels very medicore. I have been really looking forward to it too.
LegoMan1031 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Oh dear, i have really been looking forward to Haze as well! Well think i'll start my download ov the demo now, see what i think off it later on.
flameboy Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Well atleast now I know not to waste my time purchasing it as a filler between GTA and MGS4..guess I'll finally start the darkness instead..ill still try the demo...
Guest Jordan Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Jesus. No aiming assist on a shooter that fast? What kind of **** though that'd be a good idea? Hmph. I'll play co-op with people later and see how it plays. But at the moment i'm leaning towards cancelling my pre order.
Strider Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 It's not bad, better than alot of the demos i've tried. I'd agree though, it's not amazing, the aimings abit crap.
Dante Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 55% of Rockstar title sales are on Microsoft machine in its first week in UK – but PS3 hardware grows 127% More copes of Rcokstar's GTA IV for were sold on Xbox 360 than PS3 in the game's first week on UK shelves – but both companies enjoyed similar success when it came to the 'system selling' influence of the title. That's according to official ChartTrack figures obtained by MCV, which show that Xbox 360 took a 55 per cent share of the combined sales of the game. However, PS3 hardware sales leapt 127 per cent in the week in which the game was released (Sunday, April 27th to Saturday, May 5th) week-on-week. Xbox 360 hardware sales also felt the GTA effect, climbing 125 per cent in the week. According to ChartTrack data, the title broke single-format, first-week sales records on both console. It sold 514,000 copies on 360, making £22 million in revenues at UK retail. The previous record holder, Halo 3, sold 411,000 copies in its first week, making £16.9 million. On PS3, GTA IV sold 413,000 copies in the week, taking £17.9 million at retail. That beat the previous one-week record holder, GT5: Prologue, which sold 120,000 and made £2.6 million.
Babooo Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Anyone know how I can get back my corrupted Guitar Hero 3 file on PS2?
Hero-of-Time Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Jesus. No aiming assist on a shooter that fast? What kind of **** though that'd be a good idea? Yeah I thought the same thing when I was playing it, its far too sensitive. I was playing the thing on easy and I still had trouble with it. Guess thats me saving some money, might aswell pack my PS3 away until June 12th
Daft Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Everyone get Super Stardust HD with the Solo expansion. Easily a worthwhile filler until MGS4.
Guest Jordan Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Yeah I thought the same thing when I was playing it, its far too sensitive. I was playing the thing on easy and I still had trouble with it. Guess thats me saving some money, might aswell pack my PS3 away until June 12th Or you know... you could do the normal thing and leave consoles out?
Daft Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Holy f*cking crap, Mirror's Edge looks awesome. Looks like a game I could really get into. http://kotaku.com/387711/mirrors-edge-in-motion Edit: Just played the Haze demo and I actually really enjoyed it. A lot better than the earlier build I played. I had no problem whatsoever with the aiming. If you crouch and zoom it makes a real difference. I was only slightly annoyed you couldn't throw grenades further. I can imagine playing as a rebel being even more fun.
Dante Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 One of the legends of the PlayStation® generation has taken his partnership with the platform to the next level. Solid Snake, the hero of the Metal Gear Solid® (MGS) franchise, is, this summer, being bundled with PLAYSTATION®3 and a SIXAXIS controller offering millions of PS3 and MGS fans around the world the ultimate gaming combo. Concluding Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid saga, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is set in a battle-scarred future where huge conglomerates fight for supremacy using armies of hand-picked mercenaries. This devastated world is seen through the battle-weary eyes of an older Solid Snake who has been charged with infiltrating a number of key locations across the globe, including the Middle East and South America. As such, the epic end to Snake's story offers ground-breaking combat elements, a refined control system that offers unprecedented control over the aged hero, and the tying up of key plot lines and loose ends. Similarly, the accompanying Metal Gear Online features all the stunning stealth and combat elements of Guns of the Patriots, as it drops the player into a series of war zones and game options. With all-out 'Last Man Standing' battles to rescue and protection missions, Metal Gear Online effortlessly transfers the sublime control system of the series to an online competition, creating an absorbing battle between like-minded fans. Available from June 12 and priced at 439,99 Euros this offer is one of the most exciting bundles to date - bringing two great servants of the games industry together for the conclusion of what has been one hell of a ride! Sony thinks that we dont need a DS3 and 80GB PS3 version.
flameboy Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Yeah saw that news...it sucks but then I surpose they have seen the upshoot in sales as a result of the cheaper 40gb and the bluray/HD DVD war ending as enough here to keep sales going...I do want a DS3 though just for this game...
Dante Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 X Edge (Cross Edge) New PS3 JRPG scheduled for September '08 release Development is about 70% done atm Collaboration between Idea Factory, Gust, Bandai-Namco, Capcom, Nippon Ichi, and Compile Heart. Compile Heart's Agarest Senki staff is leading the development. Characters Characters from the respective devs will be featured from Vampire (Capcom, Darkstalkers in the US), Ar Tonelico (Bandai-Namco), Disgaea (Nippon Ichi), Spectral Souls (Idea Factory), and Mana Khemia 2 (Gust). Hero: Kannagi Yuuto Heroine: Aiba Mikoto Vampire/Darkstalkers: Morrigan Felicia Demitri Ar Tonelico: Orica Misha Shurelia Disgaea: Etona Prini Spectral Souls: Miu Mana Khemia 2/Marie's Atelier: Lilia Rose Marie Story: Main characters wakes up in a disorienting screwed up world alongside other characters who don't belong there. The world they wake up in survives and evolves by devouring souls from other realms/worlds. If nothing is done, the worlds from which the souls are being stolen from, will cease to exist...and so starts the story. Worlds: There are 2 worlds that are known thus far. The Underworld which consists of souls from Vampire/Darkstalker and Disgaea, and the Dreamworld which consists of souls from Ar Tonelico and Marie's Atelier. Each world has dungeon(s?). Sounds like your goal is to free the souls which don't belong in your realm. Battle System: Each charater is alloted action points (AP) and can attack during your turn repeatedly until your AP is used up. You can chain attacks which result in combos which ultimately result in increased damage. Sounds somewhat similar to a modified Ar Tonelico 2's battle system (which was time limited rather than AP, but chaining combos helps increase your harmonics level which resulted in increased damage or something). Form Change: As you save more souls from this world, the female characters have the ability to obtain equipable "forms" which increase stats, abilities, and what not. This sounds similar to obtaining costumes from completing cosmosphere levels in ar tonelico I/II.
Guest Jordan Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 *not fussed by generic cross over, especially since its a JRPG*
ReZourceman Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Blasphemy! That sounds absolutely sick. I cannot beleive how awesome that sounds....Im not a huge RPG fan, but come on...I mean...wow!
