Choze Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) To put a face on some of them: This is from when they attacked the website of the largest party in government coalition because they accepted a law the EU pushed one us. It's the one about increased electronic monitoring to prevent terrorism. They are standing in front of the government building. The masks... Found an article about their security. Its fake obviously. Do not give these websites any clicks. You can read the detail in the link itself: 'PSN_Ran_Outdated_Unpatched_Apache_without_Firewall'. Ludicrously dumb reporting. But I guess journalism is like that nowadays much like with Bin Laden. Edited May 6, 2011 by Choze Automerged Doublepost
flameboy Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Some news... Both Kazuo Hirai and Sir Howard Stringer have stated that we will be offering identity theft protection for those affected by the malicious attack on PlayStation Network and many of you may have seen the details of the service available in North America. As I have explained previously, creating a similar offering for the many countries within the SCEE region is a very complicated process. Each country has a different way of handling identity theft; some offer relatively sophisticated services whilst others are much more modest. We are currently in the process of identifying how we manage this situation and once the programme is ready to launch, we will provide details of exactly which services are available in each country and explain how to sign up. We hope to do this early next week. Also, look out for more information on the rest of our Welcome Back programme, including which free content you will be eligible for. We will be offering PSN users the opportunity to select two PS3 games from a list of five, as well as offering PSP users the opportunity to choose two games from a list of four. We will let you know exactly what games are available very soon. Please be assured that we are continuing to work around the clock to have some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services restored and will provide you with specific details shortly. So interesting to read...does this mean if you own both you get both? Also guess if you have multi accounts you get more stuff? I have my main account and then a US and JPN one.... Hopefully the selection of games will be alright....likely to be older stuff I guess, also presumably for it to be a proper incentive for PS+ users needs to be stuff thats not been given away on that.
Cube Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 They would have to be 1st Party games. My predictions: - inFamous - Uncharted 2 - Killzone 2 - Motorstorm/Motorstorm Pacific Rift - Resistance 2 Unless they mean smaller downloadable games.
LegoMan1031 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I would assume that it would be more arcade type games... but you never know i suppose!
flameboy Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I would assume that it would be more arcade type games... but you never know i suppose! I dunno I guess they could be full releases! I mean on PSP what is there thats not a mini, ps1 or a full release (granted a lot are very very reduced) I hope Cube that your choices are wrong cos I own all of them except Motorstorm which I have owned.

It's just that the downloadable titles are a PS+ thing. The ones I predicted all have recent or upcoming sequels, so they'll also be a form of advertising.

Daft Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I'll have ModNation Racers a thank you very much Sony. Give it to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
drahkon Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Am I getting this right? Every PSN user is getting a free game?
flameboy Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Am I getting this right? Every PSN user is getting a free game? two free games from a choice of five for PS3 owners and two from four for PSP users.
flameboy Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Yeah so PSN isn't gonna be back this weekend; As you may know, we’ve begun the process of restoring the service through internal testing of the new system. We’re still working to confirm the security of the network infrastructure, as well as working with a variety of outside entities to confirm with them of the security of the system. Verifying the system security is vital for the process of restoration. Additional comprehensive system checks and testing are still required, and we must complete that process before bringing the systems online. As you’ve heard us say, our utmost priorities are the security of the network and ensuring your data is safe. We won’t restore the services until we can test the system’s strength in these respects. When we held the press conference in Japan last week, based on what we knew, we expected to have the services online within a week. We were unaware of the extent of the attack on Sony Online Entertainment servers, and we are taking this opportunity to conduct further testing of the incredibly complex system. We know many of you are wanting to play games online, chat with your friends and enjoy all of the services PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have to offer, and trust me when I say we’re doing everything we can to make it happen. We will update you with more information as soon as we have it. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience of this network outage. http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/05/07/service-restoration-update/
Jon Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I'm not that bothered to be honest, i've just started Dragon Age: Origins, and yeah; that's gonna take a while to finish
flameboy Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I'm not that bothered to be honest, i've just started Dragon Age: Origins, and yeah; that's gonna take a while to finish I thought about starting it but got some DLC codes that came with the game so seems a waste to start it without the codes.
Jon Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I thought about starting it but got some DLC codes that came with the game so seems a waste to start it without the codes. Most of the DLC isn't until after the game finishes or can be left to much later on, so it doesn't really matter.
flameboy Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Most of the DLC isn't until after the game finishes or can be left to much later on, so it doesn't really matter. one was some items or summit...although to be fair don't think I used the items I got with Mass Effect 2
Magnus Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 (edited) Won't you miss out on Shale if you don't download the free DLC? That's one of the best characters. Edited May 7, 2011 by Magnus
Aimless Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 You people should play Yakuza 4 instead. Also, Dragon Age: Origins is a much better game on the PC if you have the option. Come Sunday you'll most likely be able to pick up the Ultimate pack for £12.49 from Steam.

Aimless Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Still got Yakuza 3 sealed and waiting to be played... Then I suggest you remedy that situation.
Happenstance Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I need to get back to Yakuza 3 actually, havent played it in a week or so.
