kyletherobot Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Yup, took me a couple of days. The artifacts are the worst part but if you explore properly you'll get them in no time.
Jon Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 It's my mission over the next couple of weeks to get the GTA IV platinum. It's probably one of the most annoying but i'm almost there.

No way could I be bothered with that all...didn't help that the trophy patch came out the day after I completed the main story mode.
Daft Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I only got half way in GTA before getting bored. I thought I'd give it another go after the trophy patch came out but there there's about a 3 day tutorial at the beginning of the game which killed it instantly. It's just dumb.
ReZourceman Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 My PS3 won't load DVDs or play games or demos. It just goes onto a black and blank screen where I can't do anything. I've had it since Feb 2008. A) Is there anything I can do B) Is it in warranty?

A) Is there anything I can do B) Is it in warranty? AFAIK warranty lasts a year. Hmmm need to check mine. Call sony and see what they say, but it's most likely you are going to pay something like £50 and get them to send you a refurb. Happened to my mate so been backing up my games since.
Aimless Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 You should give Sony and ring to try and feel things out, see if they'll fix you up for free despite being out of warranty. Make sure you don't give them a machine number or anything, though, because if it sounds like they're going to charge you'd be better off making an excuse to hang up and signing up to Continuous Play. Wait a week or so, make your claim and voila, a much cheaper refurbishment. I find it odd you can't play demos, though. It might be an idea to have a look at the Recovery Menu before splashing cash about as it might just be a software thing.
dwarf Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Don't jump the gun guys! Restore solves EVERYTHING! It happened to me where I turned it off at the back too many times, and restore sorts out the HDD. They'll probably tell you to do a restore if you ring anyway.

ReZourceman Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 That fixed it! Thanks fellas. Dysons 360 bumming was getting a bit annoying there.
Deathjam Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Awesome. Thought we had another casualty there. I want to play demon's souls but it scares me how hard that game is.
Daft Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Play Infamous. It has better gameplay, more fun etc. surprisingly. Really not that hard. It is on my rental list.
Jon Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Got one more trophy to get to complete all the single player ones on GTA and it's that damn Pidgeon collecting one. Collected 100 today but it's destroying my brain, so the next 100 will have to wait until tomorrow.
chrizkerr2 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Hurray! Got my first Platinum today! Was on Uncharted, been meaning to complete it on Crushing for awhile, finally did it this weekend!
kyletherobot Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Well done, its the weekend of platinums. I think I'm going to get Uncharted again to the platinum, it seems like one of the most attainable ones as the game is actually fun to play.
dwarf Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Yeah it's a good platinum, not too difficult. But good achievement chrizkerr that's 3 from this board now.
Pantsu Man! Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Completed Valkyria Chronicles earlier. Loved every minute of it, plus the fighting was spot on. Crazy how one battle could take half an hour to complete, and if you managed to not have any CP left over and you've left your tank with it's power core wide open to a tank attack it'll take you another half an hour to complete...
Ryan Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I'm on the last chapter of VC, should get it finished today..
Daft Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I posted on the Euro Playstation blog about adding another Phoenix track to SingStar and they responded!! "very very soon" apparently!! *crosses fingers for Thursday's update*
Jon Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Finished collecting all the pidgeons on GTA IV, all 200 of the fuckers. That's got me 100% game completion. Just got the final mutliplayer ones to do to get the platinum.
Ryan Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Completed Valkyria Chronicles, great ending to a perfect game. Now to try out some of the DLC..
Eddage Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Hey all, my mates PS3 has stopped reading discs (Blu-ray and DVD's), dunno if anyone has had the same problem and found a fix or whether he should just take it back to the shop?
Daft Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Can it definitely not read DVDs? Mine broke twice, not reading Blu Rays but it could read DVDs.
Eddage Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Can it definitely not read DVDs? Mine broke twice, not reading Blu Rays but it could read DVDs. Yeah, that was the first thing I asked him, wont read anything!
Strider Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I had a bit of trouble with my PS3 today, the game froze while playing FIFA, which resulted in me having to turn it off via the switch on the back. When I'd turned it back on, none of the game i put in were registering, by this point i thought it was knackered. I tried a DVD later on and that seemed to work, so I tried a game again which also worked. I have no idea what had happened, but it seems to be fine now. *Crosses fingers*
