Choze Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Can I ask a question which is earnest in its intent and not a snide backhanded comment but merely a serious query that crossed my mind...do any games still use the tilt aspect of the PS3 controller? Granted, I don't keep up with the console as much anymore but I've not heard of it being used for a while. And this just flitted into my mind like a plastic bag in the wind. Depends. As Daft put it. Some games alot, others none. Some use it abit here and there.
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Yeah there should be more use of Sixaxis in Home. I think the best example of motion control in a PS3 game was in R&C. That was fun and actually controlled very well, it was natural and worked. (Talking about the glider thing) Thing about that game is that they had some good ideas but only used it once or twice.
Ashley Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Ah okay cheers. Nice to be kept nealry-current in how things are going. Plus it satisfied my curiosity. Many thanks
Daft Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 You can download the free Star Trek costumes on Home now. They look quite cool.
Choze Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Oh nice! Anyone tried the EA kart game in Home. We should have a game lol. Oh and : Buy Uncharted beta and get Infamous free :p
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Yeah where can you get that deal from? Or is it only US?
Choze Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Yeah where can you get that deal from? Or is it only US? Well Infamous isnt even announced for Europe yet
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I guess not. I want it now lol. I'd love to be able to play Uncharted and Infamous tomorrow for free as well as receiving that KZ2 map pack without charge. If only life were that easy. Do you want to do a bit of KZ Choze?
Hero-of-Time Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 KOEI Ltd will initially begin UK distribution for NIS America, Inc’s titles in the early summer, with three games across the range of Sony consoles - Ar Tonelico 2: Melody of the Metafalica for PlayStation 2 (RRP£19.99), Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? for Sony PSP (RRP£29.99), and Cross Edge for PlayStation 3 (RRP£39.99). Nice to see Cross Edge coming out over here. Regarding the European plans for inFamous and Uncharted 2... Sony has revealed that everyone who buys inFamous in the US will receive a bonus - access to the multiplayer beta test for Uncharted 2. This is a US-specific promotion, but Sony has told Eurogamer that it's working on something for Europe that will be announced in due course. Eurogamer.
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 They best not fuck us over for the EU release. I don't want a beta into Lego Jade Goody either.
flameboy Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Does Uncharted really need multiplayer? For me it doesn't and I am looking forward to it for more of the same not for a tacked on online mode... Hope we get the beta key's though having said that as my view may be changed by having a bash at it before release. Wonder if they will pull the shit trick of it being exclusive to play or something.
Chris the great Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I don't want a beta into Lego Jade Goody either. i dunno, it looks good when you unclick the hair for the last few levels.
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 ^ Flameboy if I hadn't seen that multiplayer footage I would've agreed but it looks awesome. I think it'll still be all about the singleplayer and I'm sure Naughtdog haven't sacrificed anything to do with the campaign quality.
Daft Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Does Uncharted really need multiplayer? For me it doesn't and I am looking forward to it for more of the same not for a tacked on online mode... Like dwarf said, before I saw the video I thought the same (except for the co-op which I heard was going to be distinct from the single player). Having seen the videos, it looks like so much fun. They hired extra people to handle the multiplayer so single player shouldn't be effected.
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Ah right good they got specialised people to do the online stuff. I want Naughtydog to bring back another Crash platformer. The first 3 were bloody brilliant and I really wouldn't mind paying a high price just to see the the badicoot return to his former glory. As it is the nob developers have eaten it up and have shat out the fellow.
Choze Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I guess not. I want it now lol. I'd love to be able to play Uncharted and Infamous tomorrow for free as well as receiving that KZ2 map pack without charge. If only life were that easy.Do you want to do a bit of KZ Choze? Sure. I have Worms as well btw. Does Uncharted really need multiplayer? For me it doesn't and I am looking forward to it for more of the same not for a tacked on online mode... Hope we get the beta key's though having said that as my view may be changed by having a bash at it before release. Wonder if they will pull the shit trick of it being exclusive to play or something. Naughty Dog are a big developer they can afford extra people. Good multiplayer nowadays require seperate focus. Having said that i think they know single player is the key focus but multiplayer should add more to the package.
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I can't play late unless it's Friday or Saturday tbh. Ah well. And yeah at least you've got Worms. I'm guessing you haven't spent much time with it at the rate you play new stuff. It's like one chuck in the disc drive and then out again.
Aimless Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 inFAMOUS is coming out May 29th in the UK — and presumably the rest of Europe — so it's just over a month away. I wouldn't be surprised to see it bundled with Beta codes here too, as it's sure to get a few people buying the game that perhaps weren't going to.
dwarf Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Woop!!! We didn't get screwed! I'm going to pre-order at the nearest oppurtunity, having said that it may be wise to wait for the news about beta code give-aways first.
Dante Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Rumour: MAG and The Agency Betas Coming "Soon", Possibly "E3 Soon" Sony is knee deep in massively multiplayer online games right now, with titles like MAG, The Agency, and DC Universe Online all set to be released within a year. It seems like gamers may be getting their hands on at least two of these games a bit earlier than expected though. An anonymous source, who attended the recent Sony event at Seattle, has told us that betas for both MAG and The Agency are due out 'soon' - as in 'E3 soon'. Both Zipper Interactive and SOE, the Seattle based developers of the respective games, were at the event answering press questions and demoing their games. MAG is due out sometime in Fall 2009, exclusively for the PS3, while The Agency will not see shelves until 2010, for both the PC and PS3.
Daft Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I'm really looking forward to DC Universe Online. Don't really know much about The Agency. MAG doesn't seem my sort of thing at the moment.
Choze Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 This new Infamous trailer looks good! http://fp.scea.com/Content/Movies/18839/Videos/1/movie720p.mp4 MAG and The Agency are really interesting. Given there is nothing major announced on PC (till e3 i presume). These are pushing the genre nicely. The agency is a sort of MMORPGFPS. Its going to be pay to play since its like WOW with fps. MAG should be interesting but i see it going pay as its tough as it is doing 64 players. Should be fun doing parachute jumps from planes and landing on building then taking over
