welsh_gamer Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Another Way to Die :- Quantum of Solace theme revealed :- Quite awful. Hopefully it'll work better with the main-credits on screen.
EchoDesiato Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 That video is unavailable, here's another link. Not bad, it'll have to grow on me. I preferred Chris Cornell's bond theme.
Slaggis Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Erm, am I the only one that loves it? I think it sounds great, and sounds a little like old school bond too.
Dan_Dare Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 it's ok. that's really poor quality so I suppose it'll be better to hear it done right.
Tellyn Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Erm, am I the only one that loves it? I think it sounds great, and sounds a little like old school bond too. To be perfectly honest it sounded like one of MTV's crappy polyphonic ringtones.
Slaggis Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 To be perfectly honest it sounded like one of MTV's crappy polyphonic ringtones. Like Dan said, the quality was terrible so it's bound too. Holy shit, am I the only one that liked Die Another Day aswell? Eeek.
Solo Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Holy shit, am I the only one that liked Die Another Day aswell? Eeek. Haha well there ya go It just plods along and is really inconsistent, their voices do not go well together at all. Would've been better to get rid of Jack White and have Alicia Keys sing over a more classical theme.
The fish Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Did anyone else like the Tomorrow Never Dies tune? I liked the line "Getting what you want is no fun, Martinis, girls, and guns". How very Bond.
Paj! Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I hated Tomorrow Never Dies' song, and I don't mind Sheryl Crow. Die Another Day is the only modern one I actually like. I like some of the old ones for pure entertainment value...they all have their place. Maybe it's just me that thinks they should keep the name of the film in the song? Sure in this case, it'd be hard, but then, you can just interpret it's meaning I suppose.
Cube Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 "You Know My Name" was an awesome Bond theme. This new one, possibly one of the worst Bond themes ever.
Dyson Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 It's not bad. Can definitely see it going with the typical bond graphic opening credits. I also imagine it'll be beefed up a bit for the actual movie.

LegoMan1031 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 When i first heard 'You know my name' i didn't like it but when i heard it in the cinema with the film i thought it fitted really well and now i really like it, lol. I'm having trouble seeing this one fitting in though but i shall wait to find out on the 31st October!
soag Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I love the new bond theme . Ok its not as good as you know my name but its jack fucking white whats not to love .
Tellyn Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Yea, I'm positive that the film version of You Know My Name had extra orchestra added. It did, there were two different versions if I remember correctly. This will probably sound better with the opening credits (they might have sections running through the film's score as with You Know My Name, too) but I'm not impressed at all right now.
Solo Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Talking about QoS, according to my local cinema the film is 105 minutes. Surprisingly short!
Cube Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 (they might have sections running through the film's score as with You Know My Name, too) I think we'll have more actual Bond music this time round - Casino Royale was kind of "What made Bond the way he is", hence the proper theme only appearing at the very end.
Jav_NE Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 It has grown on me. At first i was a bit iffy about it, i iked the intro but then lost interest half-way through. Its definitely a grower though and does actually become quite catchy after a few listens. I've loved all the latest themes ever since Goldeneye, apart from Die Another Die. That song is awful. Tomorrow Never Dies is probably the best.
welsh_gamer Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Talking about QoS, according to my local cinema the film is 105 minutes. Surprisingly short! Indeed! Source I was hoping for 2.5 hours of Bond, but Goldfinger was a short film and is one of my favourites, so I'm hopeful the running time won't effect it. Let's hope they don't rush it all.

I was suprised when i read the film run time on the VUE cinema website.
Dan_Dare Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Talking about QoS, according to my local cinema the film is 105 minutes. Surprisingly short! Oh thank God! After LOTR studio's seem obsessed with pushing out the next epic. Good to see one exercising restraint and, whisper it, proper editing.
david.dakota Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Oh thank God! After LOTR studio's seem obsessed with pushing out the next epic. Good to see one exercising restraint and, whisper it, proper editing. 'Proper' editing is not about cutting the film down, its about choosing the best shots and pacing the story. Its in a studio's best interest to have a shorter film (more showings throughout the day), they're probably far from pleased at the prospect of less showings. Lord of the Rings was edited wonderfully, as was The Dark Knight - another long film.
Dan_Dare Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 whereas King Kong, a worse film, was the definition of indulgence on the part of the director given far too much leeway by his studio.
