Ashley Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Pretty sure they're about £80 preowned in Gamestation. Dunno if someone wants to read the fine print about preowned ones though.

I doubt it, as thinks are scanned on barcodes. THey may be able to track it as to when it was shipped, but not sold I don't think.
Guest Jordan Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Okay, that does it... totally buying one now. I want 300 on HD-DVD :p What? No 300?
triforce_keeper Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Oooh may need to get me one then! Dreamgirls! Yaaaay! Thanks for this
fex Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 (edited) ?100 + 5 HD Films not bad at all. I defo get Children of Men and The Prestige and probably Corpse Bride & The Chronicles of Riddick + 2 Randoms. 300 + Planet earth + Transformers would be follow ups for certain! If only there wasn't a stupid format war going on, I'd easily hand over the cash otherwise. ________ Pornstars cruz Edited April 28, 2011 by fex
triforce_keeper Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Can I just ask, is this as good as a standalone HD-DVD player?
fex Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 (edited) I've read review which says for the price the picture quality is extremely good, not the best out there (but im sure to our untrained eyes its top notch) The only other let down I think I read was that connectivity isn't brilliant e.g. connecting it to surround sound systems. Oh you can also hook this up to your PC / Mac and watch HD on your computers EDIT - Video of HD-DVD with PC - Clicky For Mac users I believe Boot Camp is required for Windows XP Keep up to date with HD-DVD Drive for the Mac - Clicky ________ LovelyWendie Edited April 28, 2011 by fex
Noodleman Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Yeah as I posted in the purchase thread I gave in and ordered one. Picking it up from PC World tomorrow lunch time. Also ordered Transformers, Batman Begins and Army of Darkness from Movietyme. Probably going to get Serenity, Children Of Men, Prestige, Full Metal Jacket and er Black Rain despite having not heard of it, it cant be worse then the other 2 options. Double dipping on Prestige and FMJ though.

Ashley Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Okay, that does it... totally buying one now. I want 300 on HD-DVD :p What? No 300? Get Serenity instead. Everyone should get Serenity.
Solo Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I already have one and it says all I need is the receipt. EDIT: FUCK I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT IS! RE-EDIT: Wait reading it again damn I bought mine ages ago. How unfair is that!!
That Guy Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I'm glad I bought one, anyone with a 360 and a HD TV should buy one of these. Been watching Mr Beans Holiday and Hot Fuzz on it recently. Hope Shrek 3 is out soon. Wouldn't mind watching that in HD.
S.C.G Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Hmm it mentions that you need a retail till receipt... but if you buy it online you don't get that? Will they accept a printed receipt from time of purchase online?
mario_jr Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I am definitely getting one next week. 5 free HDDVD's, and season of Heros free on HDDVD, that sounds like more than a bargain:yay: Shit too bad the American selection isn't as good as the European.

fex Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 (edited) I wish offers like this has amazing class A titles, then it would be too hard to resist, but no, they make you take some titles that you don't want. ________ I vaporizer Edited April 28, 2011 by fex

Daft Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I didn't know it worked on PC. I'm definitly gonna pick this up now. I wanna see 300 and The Fountain in HD!!
Choze Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Mr. Bean's holiday is awful. I've read review which says for the price the picture quality is extremely good, not the best out there (but im sure to our untrained eyes its top notch) The only other let down I think I read was that connectivity isn't brilliant e.g. connecting it to surround sound systems. The HDDVD player is ok although bear in mind its the worst HDDVD player on the market by far in every way. Its still better than DVD.
McPhee Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 The HDDVD player is ok although bear in mind its the worst HDDVD player on the market by far in every way. Its still better than DVD. Im pretty sure most reviews i've read say it isn't the worst, hardly the best either though. Picture quality is fine but it lacks options like slow, zoom etc. One bonus it has over Gen 1 HD DVD players is the loading times, they are almost non-existant on 360 wheras some early players took a while to load parts of the special features, menus etc.
