UK Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 This is an idea put to me by Happenstance and ReZourceman. Anyways, I collect Ultimate Spidey and New Avengers, both my Bendis. @Mod- if the other two have got there before me, plz merge thread.
Happenstance Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Right at the moment I dont collect any comics but I do read them and then plan to pick up the TPBs (Although to be honest im getting tempted by this thread to get the single issues again!) But what I read is: Amazing Spider-Man Sensational Spider-Man Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man Ultimate Spider-Man Ultimate X-Men (on and off) Uncanny X-Men (stopped for now though) EDIT: Buffy season 8 aswell I actually finished reading both Green Lantern Rebirth and Superman Birthright TPBs today aswell
Tellyn Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I did write this in post your purchases, but... Where do you guys get your comics from? I can't find anywhere in Leeds that sell them.
Happenstance Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 As I said in the other thread: :p Either a shop in my local town called Comic Connections or http://www.reedcomics.com
UK Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 I did write this in post your purchases, but... Where do you guys get your comics from? I can't find anywhere in Leeds that sell them. Why, Telln!, do you plan on starting a collection, or do you already have one?
Dante Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Dont buy comics anymore but as a kid i had The Beano, The Dandy,Whizzer and Chips, Whoopee!, BVC and Buster.
Happenstance Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Oddly enough I was talking about the Beano the other day, I miss stuff like that from my childhood damn it!
Dante Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 English comics= crap. The real answer is old english comics rules!
UK Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 Yeah, now they've gotten terrible. Repeating the same story over again.
Bluejay Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 NERDS. I have the 300 book and I had several Sin City novels.
Dante Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Yeah, now they've gotten terrible. Repeating the same story over again. Really? Have you been reading the Beano over ten years then? I heard that Dandy has been changed into somebody else as well.
Ramar Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I bought 4 Blade comics, when I went through a random Blade phase.
Tyson Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I used to buy Sonic the Comic, but my mum or dad either spilt coffee on them or threw them out. If it counts as a comic, there was Where's Wally.
Dante Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Did anyone here read Whizzer and Chips? Edit: Never mind i dont think everyone here was born before 1990.
Ashley Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I do kind of want to get into comics but its becoming more mainstream, and I don't want to seem like a follower. Will speak to my comic book liking friend, steal some stuff. I do want to read some of the 50s American horror comics after writing a gorram essay about them. Oh and whoever asked, the popular (read DC and Marvel) stuff is in my local Smiths, and we're only no-Starbucks town so should be in most.
Dan_Dare Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 FYI (lol) the best way ot get your mits on graphic novels seems to be the Amazon small sellers sub section. Most major releases are coverec by small scale importers who can offer great prices. mind your way with postage tho. it can ramp up costs from american sellers.
Letty Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 In direct response to the thread's title, here is my comic : o
Paj! Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I subscribe to Astonishing Spider-Man, the UK anthology edition of the US comics. (Collects 3 issues into 1 larger issue for a lower price) I occasionally read story lines in comics, like I read the Red Tornado/AMazo story in the reboot of JLA, and the Rise and Fall of the Shi'Ar recently. And Civil War.
Slaggis Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Did anyone here read Whizzer and Chips? Edit: Never mind i dont think everyone here was born before 1990. I have!!! I have an annual or two.
LazyBoy Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 In direct response to the thread's title, here is my comic : o Ha that was freaking brilliant. You got anymore?
Letty Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Ha that was freaking brilliant. You got anymore? Yes, but its unnecessarily huge. and dating back a few years :p
