Choze Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 yeah about time. Insanely late. Hopefully Namco really are serious about publishing and improve.
Guest Captain Falcon Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 New Box art for European release. Still no date mind...
Emasher Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 The European box art is so much better than the North American one.
Ten10 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 As much as I have loved Tales of Symphonia, I don't care about this anymore. Anyway I will be posting some news about the next set of OVA's in the Retro gaming? Tales thread.
Hero-of-Time Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 New Box art for European release. Still no date mind... Very nice boxart. Im still hoping for a Oct-Nov release, Namco really need to get their fingers out. Do they even have a European office/HQ?
Ike Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I thought it was coming out around September?
Hero-of-Time Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I thought it was coming out around September? Only place that has it listed is Play.com and its down for Nov. I dont think it has an official date yet.
Emasher Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Its still a decent enough game that someone who enjoyed the original will have a bit of fun with it.
Guest Captain Falcon Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Do they even have a European office/HQ? Yeah they set one up when they bought out Atari Europe earlier this year, though they need to pull their finger out if they are to reach the status of a top 5 publisher - even if the plan is over 5 years.
Emerald Emblem Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 As much as I have loved Tales of Symphonia, I don't care about this anymore. ^ This. Now Tales of Graces has been announced why would we care about an inferior sequel to one of the best Gamecube RPG's?
pedrocasilva Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 ^ This. Now Tales of Graces has been announced why would we care about an inferior sequel to one of the best Gamecube RPG's?Because Tales of Graces will still take a while and hey... This should give you your Tales fix for the time being.Very nice boxart. Im still hoping for a Oct-Nov release, Namco really need to get their fingers out. Do they even have a European office/HQ?They just purchased Atari's... so now they do.
D_prOdigy Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I'll still be picking this up anyway. I've always had to get this considering how much love I've invested in the original, and now my expectations are well-adjusted (thanks to the fact it came out everywhere else ages ago), I will probably enjoy it for what it is.
pedrocasilva Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I have imported it and played to the finish, so I'm not in a hurry to get the PAL version... but I might.
Diageo Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I'm still definitely getting it and I love the boxart.
S.C.G Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 In case anyone is unaware, you can pre-order this for £24.99 on Play, it's been that price for a while, I'm thinking it's a lower price as compensation for having ti wait so long or something but best put a pre-order in early just in-case they decide to sneakily bump the price up.
qbas Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 This is definetly one game i'm looking for Wii, Cube version was top-notch so i expect same kind of AAA from this one
Mokong Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 This is definetly one game i'm looking for Wii, Cube version was top-notch so i expect same kind of AAA from this one While I do think if you enjoyed the orginal you should still get this one, I think you might need to lower your expectations a bit else you'll be very disappointed. It is a good game for what it is but it is not as good as the 1st i'm afraid
pedrocasilva Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 ^ Well, the battle system is definitely a huge improvement, and one you might miss if you ever go back. In fact, if Vesperia is just a Tales of the Abyss 1.1 down to the flex range linear motion battle system... (who by it's turn was a improvement over ToS Multi-Line system) then Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World should be considered TotA 1.5 and should take the cake. They brought over a Team Destiny battle programmer that, by it's turn brought over the aerial battle system to a Team Symphonia'ish game; and Team Destiny battle systems have been regarded as better for years now. (Tales of Graces is a Team Symphonia game, incidentally) Of course, the lack of polish still shows, the darned game does have a tenfold of loadings when Tales of Symphonia had none, the engine is badly optimized and ported over from the PS2 (which is just ridiculous when the very same engine was programmed originally for the Gamecube) and we could go on, and on and on. But it still has some juice going for it. Anyway, regarding this... I actually have screencapped the first hour and a half of the game, and I could post it now, but I'll most likely wait for the countdown to the game's launch to unleash them.
Japjer Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Uhoh.. Beschikbaar op 13.11.2009 Beschikbaar = available They tend to be correct most of the time.
Hero-of-Time Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 13th November it is! http://www.talesofsymphonia.eu/index.php About freakin time.
Emerald Emblem Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 It's been far too long a wait for this. I just wonder now i've cmpleted Vesperia would I care enough for this sequel, I'll have to get it anyway after completing the original.
D_prOdigy Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I'll be picking this up for sure - I owe it to myself after the original. It's £24.99 on Play for the moment, so maybe I'll be a little patient to see if it drops any further after release.
Mokong Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 damn a whole year it took. so glad I went to the trouble to import it from the US. Already finished it twice
Guest Captain Falcon Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Grr... my card got declined so my order hasn't been shipped - most unhappy...
