Triple_C Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Moria, you just lost so much respect from me.
Calza Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I've had this conversation before in a different thread... Fine i'll change it.
Triple_C Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I guess that's a good idea, but get the bare minimum in your contract. Cheapest I've seen with a 100 quid phone was around 15 quid, so 15*12=180. You say you top-up every three months or something? Assuming it is a tenner then 10*4=40 + 100= 140 quid. My calculations are based on assumption, so they may not be correct for you. These alll include phones Minmum on vodafone is 20 quid a month Minimum on o2 (samsung d900 exactly 100 quid phone) is 20 quid Minimum on T-mobile (this has very good phones in it) is 15 a month. (http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/price-plans/pay-monthly/flext/18mth-flext-20-5-off-line-rental/) I recommend t-mobile, if you want a contract.
McPhee Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 Sony Ericsson W810i, easily the best sub-£100 PAYG phone. Should be able to track it down for around the £80 mark (i've seen it a few times at this price).
Calza Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 What do you guys think of this? http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=168532&MPItemKey=178779 In the long run I would only have paid £40 for an entire 12 month contract but I'm not sure on how it exactly works. Has anybody done something like that before?
Fields Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Has anyone got the 6500 Classic? Thoughts? I'm thinking of getting one.

Should be able to track it down for around the £80 mark (i've seen it a few times at this price). I paid 50€ for that phone (new) with a 2 year contract: 10€\month, free sms, 1000min to own network for free, 1000min to a network I choose for free, other networks 20 cent
Triple_C Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 What do you guys think of this?http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=168532&MPItemKey=178779 In the long run I would only have paid £40 for an entire 12 month contract but I'm not sure on how it exactly works. Has anybody done something like that before? That seems like a ridiculously brilliant deal, go for it.

Calza Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 They also have that deal on the Moto Krzr K1, so between that and the Samsung u600 what would you guys say is the better phone?
Triple_C Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I've always found motorola's phones to be a complete chore. Samsung are a little easier to use, though lacking in customisation. The Samsung is better on paper, probably real life too. Though if there is a nokia on that deal, go for it. (ease of use)
Nintendohnut Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 They also have that deal on the Moto Krzr K1, so between that and the Samsung u600 what would you guys say is the better phone? I just got a Samsung G600 and I have a good friend with the U600 (ie I steal her phone a lot to play with so know it pretty well) however I also had a RAZR for about three years. I think text input on motorolas is awkward to say the least, but in terms of other features the phones are pretty similar. I, however, would personally go for the Samsung. Oh and while I'm here - the G600 is absolutely amazing. You were saying about customisation? They've fixed it with this phone, given you the ability to play with photos and create your own themes from scratch. Plus the 5MP camera! Fantastic.
Dyson Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Motorola's are horrible. I can't wait to get rid of my RED SLVR to grab a Sony Erikkson Cybershot.
UziT Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 hey guys, anyone know any good 12month contract deals? Line rental about £10 to £20?
Triple_C Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 hey guys, anyone know any good 12month contract deals? Line rental about £10 to £20? If you don't want a new phone, then pick online 15 here. If you do want a phone, then you'll need to spend a bit more than 20 quid. (for a decent deal) How many minutes/texts do you need?

(for a decent deal) How many minutes/texts do you need? If you don't mind going for a 18 month contract I would recommend getting one of the ones from Three. £15 a month for 600 texts and 75 minutes. You get a decent phone for free too. I'm on it and it's great. If you do sign up tell me and I'll recommend you as a friend and they give us £30 each!
Jon Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Just ordered my new phone, Sony Ericsson K850i. 12 months on 02, 400 free minutes and 1000 free texts a month - for £35 a month. Was the only tariff I could find on any carrier which had a 12 month contract and included the phone for free but didn't cost me more a month that my old deal.

Dyson Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Just ordered my new phone, Sony Ericsson K850i. Mine arrived today and I'm absolutely loving it, top notch phone. Only problem is the RSS Feeds don't seem to work for me, but oh well.
Calza Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Right I still havn't bought a new phone but I'm pretty sure that I need to get one now. I've got three choices the Samsung G600, Nokia 6300, Nokia 5300 or Sony Ericsson W220i. Does anybody own these phones or used them?
KKOB Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Can't wait till April when i can get an iPhone, hopefully a 2.0 one.
KKOB Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Got a N95 today off my uncle's ex, rather nice thing it is too!
Moohawk! Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Oo do give us the lowdown Takeo, my contract's up for renewal very soon and I was looking in the direction of the N95 until the orange upgrade man said they were shite. Seem to get good reviews elsewhere though. Depending on what is REVEALED in a few hours, I may even look into swapping over to o2 and bagging myself an iphone as well. Though I think they'd have to announce a 3g one with at least 16 GB memory and a much better camera than the current one to tempt me over.

My contract is also about to end (about 2 months from now I think). I'm pretty sure I'll get the Samsung F700 with a vodafone 2 year contract this time, unless the Iphone will release soon enough, support 3G and will be affordable Does anyone know when we might expect to get all this info?
Emasher Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 My RAZOR (according to adobe device central) is supposed to have a flash player built in, however it doesn't. I can't seem to find it on adobe's website, but is there anywhere I can download the flash player for it and then install it on the phone.
