thirtynine. Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Ce-Oh no he didn't, part XXXIII - Microsoft's just waiting for Wii fanboys to grow upNever let it be said that a console war doesn't benefit the consumer -- for the goldmine of quotes, if nothing else. This latest one is from John Rodman, group product manager for the Xbox platform and Xbox Live, who was talking up the Xbox 360 in a New York Times article of all places. "We don't feel like the Wii customer and the Xbox customer are the same thing," he said. "We think that as soon as the Wii customer turns 14 they want something else." Oh snap! Finally the truth comes out. We were getting a bit tired of all those backhanded praises Sony and Microsoft have been showering on the Wii, since it's not the "competition." Seems like it's worth Rodman's time to pay it such a diss (not that we have anything against sub-14 year olds, but let's be honest here) and there's no doubt the Wii is more of a threat to Sony and Microsoft than they'll ever admit. http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/28/ce-oh-no-he-didnt-part-xxxiii-microsofts-just-waiting-for-w/ Lol...
blender Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I think its natural to always want more whatever your strarting point. its like drugs.... you start off with a a bit of weed and before you know it you are a heroin junkie. as soon as I turned 14, I wanted sex
spirited away Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 It's a multi-demographic console, it appeals to all ages. Ignorant comment from someone who is clearly aware of the Wii's potential.
Daft Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 It's a multi-demographic console, it appeals to all ages. Ignorant comment from someone who is clearly aware of the Wii's potential. You're right, it is their job to say stuff like this but until "potential" becomes actual products, which will hopefully happen sooner rather than later, the only thing I am playing is my 360....and this is from a person who was a Nintendo zealot until about 2 months ago!
Fresh Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Lol, soon as they realize they might have some competition on their hands they slag it off. Classic.
Hellfire Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Funny that whenever studies are made, most Nintendo hardware owners are adults.
DCK Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Story of Wii board: MS/Sony spokesman says something Somebody makes thread about it Flame flame flame repeat Luckily we're getting tired of it now
That Guy Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Haha, that laughable, I bought a 360, then I wanted to get a Wii. And I'm 19. One day people who work for these big compaines will learn to shut up... including people at Nintendo before I get flamed for having a go at someone having a go at Nintendo...
Cube Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 So, how do they explain the apparent good sales of Godfather?
thirtynine. Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 So, how do they explain the apparent good sales of Godfather? The young ones are paying tramps to buy there games for them.
Cube Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 The young ones are paying tramps to buy there games for them. Well...that explains the success of every GTA game...
Tyson Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Essentially they're offending their own customers. Alot of 15+ people will own both the 360 and Wii, and Microsoft are offending those players' choices. And they're acting pety, which is like making someone watch their fathers cry. Embarressing.
Jasper Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Finally we're getting into competition-bashing instead of tapping on the back. Time Nintendo got out of their eerie glow of victory and into their PR department to prepare a top-notch campaign and supply for the Wii this year - to prove that it isn't a novelty.
Speedfreak Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I'm 19, my Dad's 47, my brother's 31; we all play Wii. The very reason I AVOID 360 is because of all the fucking 12 year olds. Christ, the sheer fucking irony.
4q2 Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Management is the same the world over......Severely out of touch and full of crap.
Librarian Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 well i wonder who all the grown ups were.. who were screaming in my headset in falsetto voices when i was so stupid trying out halo 2 live
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Christ almighty, how much of a gealous 12 year old girl is John Rodman? I'm hardly the Wii's biggest fan, but this is maybe a tad more than a little bit silly. If anything, you're damaging the 360's rep, dumbass.

Noodleman Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Admitadly he has a pretty retarded way of saying but I think hes on about people having another console along side the Wii. And he wants it to be the 360 not the PS3.
The Peeps Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Then why post? Because me not caring is my opinion and for some reason I feel I am allowed to voice it. I don't care what Microsoft have to say about Nintendo, it's not going to change my own opinion of the system. I'm perfectly happy with my Wii and as soon as I get the money I'll be getting a 360 too, but if Nintendo say anything about Microsoft I'm still not going to care.
Shyguy Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 so im gussing they are insulting rare for making Viva Pinata, which i dont think was targeted at an adult audience nice 1 MS
Excelle Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 He's right though - the Wii customer and the XBox customer are different. I'm getting a Wii because I've got a PC to play all these high def FPSs on. The Wii (and Nintendo in general) will always offer something completely different to the other main two consoles. While PS3 and 360 have the majority of their games that can be emulated or bettered by the PC, Wii (and even Gamecube) games are consistently different to the PC. So, sod Wii60 - WiiC for me

Finally, somebody who is talking sense.
