Ashley Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Best Song Ever (Well I'd imagine The Bard would want to rip off his ears. But its parodic genius, and damn catchy!)
Ashley Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 There is no "her" really. Its a joke from How I Met Your Mother. One of the characters is revealed to have been a teenage pop star. It, combined with the slap bet subplot, makes it the best episode from that show. Everytime I hear that song I can't help but smile.
Paj! Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Anyone a fan of Catatonia? It sometimes seems like only Chairdriver and I have heard of/like them..
thirtynine. Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Anyone a fan of Catatonia? It sometimes seems like only Chairdriver and I have heard of/like them.. I used to be really into them when i was younger but i kind of grew out of them as my tastes changed.
Slaggis Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I used to be really into them when i was younger but i kind of grew out of them as my tastes changed. I was the same.
chairdriver Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 International Velvet by Catatonia is my favourite ever album. And disc 2 of Catatonia's greatest hits is the funniest CD I own. I love the band, and Cerys Mathews voice. It's like raspy, and oh so sexy.
Paj! Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Fightstar are ok. I was kinda tentative of them, being the "upgrade" for Charlie from Busted. If I listen to it more, I'm pretty sure I'll like their album a lot. ("One Day Son, All This Will Be Yours")
The Bard Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 ^ They did a good cover of Leper Messiah, for which they have my respect. Can't say their own music's any good though.
Paj! Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Not heard it. (Or the orginal for that matter) New people I love: Mutya Buena, M.I.A and Bat for Lashes.
DCK Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Why don't I ever see Depeche Mode in anyone's Last.fm... They're freaking amazing.
Dan_Dare Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 listening to Dragonette. Bit like Gwen Sefani's electro pop output with bitchy lyrics. They're actually pretty catchy.
Roostophe Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Why don't I ever see Depeche Mode in anyone's Last.fm... They're freaking amazing. My Last.fm has been the same for over a year.
AshMat Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Im really liking Stronger, though i prefer daft punk's, this is a real good version. Also, why does everyone rave over Kate Nash? I'm not really a fan.. Also, whoever was gonig on about depeche mode, check number 34 on my last.fm
mcj metroid Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 i love depeache mode:) I'm always interested In what metal heads think of certain artists. Can i ask what you think of Elton john's music? I personally love it but that's just me.
Paj! Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 *bobs slowly up and down on the back of a whale, in the middle of the sea* I love Bat For Lashes. I need her/them to win the Mercury music prize.
Noodleman Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 The drumming on the Probot album Dave Grohl did is utterly fantastic.
Slaggis Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Haggis, Avril Lavigne related question. Which of her albums d oyou like best, and why? Erm, I'm not really too sure actually, they're different styles so it's hard to choose a certain one as better than the others. I love the new one, because it's just fun, playful and some of the beats are pretty damn catchy. I love the ums because of the tone of the whole album, the teenage angst, and that it's all dark and emotional with a rock sort of edge to it. I love the first one because of the catcy beats and country feel. Though for the album with the lyrics I can relate too most would be ums. All in all though I'd say tbdt. My favourite tracks off each album would be: Let go: Unwanted and in my world UMS: Freak out, Nobody's home and Take me away TBDT: One of those girls, Hot, contagious, Keep holding on and the b-side "alone" On another note, I can't stop listening to muse and the all american rejects.
chairdriver Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I like TBDT the most, just because its the most fun. I love My World and Forgotten more than any song off TBDT thing.
harribo Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 On another note, I can't stop listening to muse Well thats because they are actually amazing.
Slaggis Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Well thats because they are actually amazing. Yup, I bought all their albums a few days ago. Awesome band.
Ashley Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I think after many many many (just did that for the effect really) years I finally have a favourite band; The Format. I can listen to them no matter what, and according to my last.fm I do. I really want to see them live but they're not coming to the UK until at least next year Plus they have an ubercool website: http://www.theformat.com/ Lookit!
harribo Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 http://www.colonopenbracket.com/ this one is so much better.
