Slaggis Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Your bullshit. Soz couldn’t resist The albums been getting pretty average reviews (from what I've read). Most complain about the lyrics which in some cases are apparently terrible. The review in the times said "half the country will love it, and the rest will hate it". Basically sums it up. (I'm on the hate side, I hated the single so have no interest in the album)
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Listening to some Faithless. God is a DJ is really one of the finest pieces of music I have ever had the pleasure to listen to.
harribo Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince's - Summertime, really is the greatest summer tune ever created. I think you would have to struggle to disagree Surprisingly I'm not finding it much of a struggle to disagree.
Dyson Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I (sort of) agree. It's a good summer track but there are better. Also, I was having a laugh. I'm rather fond of Mr. Blue Sky by ELO myself.
Paj! Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Yeah, it's ok, but nothing special to me. My favourite classic summer song is now 99 Red/Luft Balloons.
thirtynine. Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Name me a better summer tune please Honestly jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - summer time is the best ever. I hate the way on kate nash's album they have like refixed the tracks, the same way they did with jamie t so it looses any charm it had in the first place. I also when rappers say nigger completely unnecessarily, its like seriously, think of something more relevant to say instead of using a word to fill space.
Ant-Shimmin Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Honestly jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - summer time is the best ever. Quote of the month.. Class Song... However I do have to vouch for Shapeshifters-Lolas Theme it's a very good song, brings back memories of Summer '04 Rafa Benitez first game at Wrexham, driving down on a lovely summers day in my new strip.. Ahhhhh.....
Dan_Dare Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Gentlemen, these summer songs are all well and good but you're forgetting a really classic: Six Pence Non The Richer's Kiss Me! what a track. It was the mid 90's: Dawson's Creek was on saturday tv (after spiderman no less) and this little charmer of a track fit so well. Brilliant!
EchoDesiato Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Era Vulgaris is fucking sublime. Fuck yes it is. I think this is my favourite QotSA album now, even better than SftD. Every track is just so awesome, like sex for the ears.
BeerMonkey Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Era Vulgaris is fucking sublime. agreed i prefer it to "songs for the deaf" era vulgaris is QOTSA's best work
Noodleman Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Rated R is about a bazillion times better then sftd. Havent been able to bring myself to listen to there new album but if its like sftd I wont bother.
Dan_Dare Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Does anyone listen to Four Tet here? hells yes. quality stuff, aint it?

The review in the times said "half the country will love it, and the rest will hate it". Basically sums it up. (I'm on the hate side, I hated the single so have no interest in the album) I have the album and love it. I also love her. She was one of the best acts I saw at Latitude festival. 12:30am small poetry tent, on her own with an acoustic guitar doing all her songs. She is amazing.
Dan_Dare Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 she's really not. Her lyrics are guffage, and her voice annoys the sweet fuck out of me. You say I must eat lots uv lemonnns, because I'm so bittaaaaaahhhh! fuck off and learn to talk, wench.
Slaggis Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Heard that "omg I can't believe it" song in Next today. I actually liked it. Think thats the first lily allen song I've ever liked.
gmac Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 and it's not even her song it's a cover of Kaiser Chiefs - Oh My God
Slaggis Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 and it's not even her song it's a cover of Kaiser Chiefs - Oh My God Oh yeh! I new I'd heard it somewhere. How thick am I eh? I prefer the lily allen one tbh. Though as you seemed to imply, it doesn;t really say much if my favourite song of hers is a cover lol.
