Dan_Dare Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 That's because they're the most bland, sterile band around these days. oh, yeah. so they are.
Paj! Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 That's because they're the most bland, sterile band around these days. I think that award goes to Snow Patrol. I loved Hot Fuss by Killers, but Sam's Town is meh.
Dan_Dare Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Hot Fuss had it's moment, but if ever there was an album slain by over exposure, it's that. I don't think it helped matters that I owned a copy a good few months before the media and djs latched on to Mr Brightside like a cancerous barnacle
Jon Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Anyone listen to Five for Fighting here? Five for Fighting are awesome. Superman and 100 years are two of my favourite songs. As for hating The Killers and Snow Patrol, it's complete bollocks. Just because they're achieving success now, doesn't mean you automatically have to hate them. Seriously, what is up with people hating bands to be cool.
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 I might start singing some Killers Choons to piss off you haters!

More people get to hear great music I hate it when some people are like; well I had their first album and saw them in a small pub before they were famous and back then they were good. But now they are popular and have been in NME and clubs play their music they are shit. Yeah ok, just do one fools.
thirtynine. Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 I thought the band was called ... Check out Dred Zeppelin... ironically I don't know the proper way to spell them :P You are correct. Sorry about that.
harribo Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Just thought I'd point out you can listen to Editors new album on their myspace. I think it is an outstanding album despite the poor review in NME. Escape The Nest is actually amazing. http://www.myspace.com/editorsmusic
thirtynine. Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 NME are poor in general their oppinions lick my cake hole. The albums pretty good, thanks for pointing it out.
Wesley Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Can anyone recommended me some jazz? EDIT: Also, anyone got? One of the best electro albums I've heard for ages.
Oxigen_Waste Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Can anyone recommended me some jazz? EDIT: Also, anyone got? One of the best electro albums I've heard for ages. You must be deaf, then. It sucks so badly. I mean, apart from D.A.N.C.E. and Waters of Nazareth, this is the most uninspired Daft Punk clone I've ever heard. And I had such high hopes for this after We Are Your Friends. The good thing is, at least Simian Mobile Disco's album is actually good, unlike this trash.
ipaul Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Can anyone recommended me some jazz? Hmmm I suppose it's Jazz Fusion really but In A Silent Way by Miles Davis is one of my favourite albums, it is so relaxing so give it a listen. Apart form that, Ray Charles and Miles Davis other stuff is all i could really reccomend.

Best electroy album I've listened to since Ra's last one. I try In A Silent Way because I have few Miles Davis songs that are alright... but you cant really judge an artist by a few random songs. I have Herbie Hancock's A New Standard and I love that, can you recommend me anything based on that?
Jon Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Gavin Degraw Try this, or this or even this. Guy's a genius.

Wesley Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 I used to like The Killers but not so much now. I'm not sure if hearing them so much because they're "popular" has anything to do with it. Maybe, I can't be sure. All I know is that I wouldn't want to buy a CD of theirs. They're alright for radio music I guess...

Jon Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Do you know whats worse people loving bands to be cool. No, it's most definetely not.
Slaggis Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Do you know whats worse people loving bands to be cool. Who does that though? I mean how can you force yourself to like music just to be cool?
Platty Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Loving The Who at Glasto! Im also seeing them on Tuesday for the 3rd time!
Oxigen_Waste Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Anyone listened to the new Interpol album? Will have to listen to it a few more times before I reach a veredict. :P EDIT: Getting ready to see Metallica and Mastodon this thursday. (Along with Stone Sour and that fucker Satriani... god, to think that machine head was supposed to be in his slot, it makes me a hugely sad panda.)
Slaggis Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Glastonbury on bbc3 now. Beth ditto singing "standing is the way of control" with the crowd. The song is awesome, and the crowd love it.
