Cube Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Due out this August, eager fans will line up to immerse themselves in the High School Musical phenomenon as Disney Interactive Studios launches a new line of video games on multiple platforms. With two all-new karaoke games on Wii and Sony PlayStation 2, fans of all ages will extend their High School Musical experience as they never have before. They’ll sing their way through the original hit movie – solo or as a duet – plus perform all of the songs from “High School Musical 2″ and other bonus tracks from popular Disney Channel artists. The games bring players an enriched dance experience featuring motion-captured-choreography from the original High School Musical movie dance routines. Only with these Disney Interactive Studio games will players be able to mix together their favorite characters, songs and scenes in ways that express their individuality as they sing their way to stardom, High School Musical style. In the High School Musical video game for Nintendo DS, players will travel across America as they compete in the ultimate musical competition. Playing as any of the six High School Musical stars (or their own customized character), fans will dance and play along with the movie’s songs and create their own dance videos in order to win the national title. Players can compete head-to-head and trade their personal video creations with their friends. [GoNintendo] Well, it's a karaoke game. Once licensed on a film. I suppose thats pretty much confimation that there will be some form of microphone for the Wii.
Shorty Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 ^ just give me a gun. High School Musical is flippin massive among the kids, this could shift sales like nobody's business. It's a sensible move and at least some third party support. I'm sick of seeing the Wii get half a shelf in GAME, time to fill up the library a bit.
Guest Jordan Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 It may be popular, but High School Musical makes me want to rip off my own testicals and force feed them to a Russian midget whilst eating his spinal cord. Yup.
Shorty Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I've never watched it or even heard a song from it :/ Since my 12 year old cousin is into it, I figured it wouldn't be for me. Jordan maybe you shouldn't watch things that make you feel that way
Ramar Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I've never watched it or even heard a song from it :/ Since my 12 year old cousin is into it, I figured it wouldn't be for me. Jordan maybe you shouldn't watch things that make you feel that way You're lucky. The adverts have hauntered my dreams for a few months now.. Luckily I managed to advoid it when it was on at Christmas.
Owen Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I've seen it, and it's by far the most cheesiest, sickly sweet film i've ever seen. Though, if you want or need a laugh, i suggest watching it. The song in the canteen is pretty hilarious...and slightly, i hate to say it...catchy. Overall though, it's bloody great the wii has got this game, the amount of young kids who like this film and probably want or have a wii at the same time, will make this a big hit for Nintendo's console and it's another much needed third-party game for Wii's success. It'll most probably be crap, but that won't stop kids buying it.
gaggle64 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I very much enjoyed the movie. None the less, I can't say I was expecting this.
ReZourceman Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Well....my girlfriends sister might be pleased.
Kurtle Squad Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Disney deserve to rot in hell.....Nickelodeon too.
conzer16 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Disney deserve to rot in hell.....Nickelodeon too. This is going to sell bucket loads of copies and bucket loads of Wii's. Disney are in the business to make money, as are Nintendo.
welsh_gamer Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I'm intrested :heh:but I will wait till they release a set with proper songs!
ZeldaFreak Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Disney deserve to rot in hell.....Nickelodeon too. Can they rot in hell after potc: at world end comes out mate Cheers
triforce_keeper Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I loved High School musical dammit! Yeah it may be like one of the most cheesiest films ever, but it has sold LOADS of dvd's, soundtracks etc. And nearly all of the High School musical tour concerts sold out in America. And trust me, this will sell lots of Wii's. This is already bought for me :P
ShadowV7 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Never heard/seen it and I don't want to because some of my friends are amazed by it,and considering the personalities of me and my friends,I won't like it. If it helps to sell the Wiis then I guess it's ok
Sarka Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I loved High School musical dammit! Yeah it may be like one of the most cheesiest films ever, but it has sold LOADS of dvd's, soundtracks etc. And nearly all of the High School musical tour concerts sold out in America. And trust me, this will sell lots of Wii's. This is already bought for me :P Me too! I love High School Musical! Infact, I know all the words to almost all the songs as they are ALL SO CATCHY! Oooh, I can't wait for this!
Kurtle Squad Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Can they rot in hell after potc: at world end comes out mate Cheers What?!?!!? I loved High School musical dammit! Yeah it may be like one of the most cheesiest films ever, but it has sold LOADS of dvd's, soundtracks etc. And nearly all of the High School musical tour concerts sold out in America. And trust me, this will sell lots of Wii's. This is already bought for me :P Thats because Americans are cheesy...and love cheese.
Charlie Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Players can compete head-to-head and trade their personal video creations with their friends. Does that mean we're getting a video camera type thing too?
Kurtle Squad Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 That sounds a bit dodgy actually. Porn?!?!
Cube Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 Does that mean we're getting a video camera type thing too? It's the DS version that you're referring to. It's probably just a "replay" of your performance (as the DS version is a rhythm game like EBA).
AshMat Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I ahve a mate that bums this with a passion. I bloody hated it, egghhh.
Tellyn Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 My sister has a 20 pounds stake in my Wii, which means that any games she buys, I have to let her play. I must go to all necessary measures to ensure that she does not discover the existence of this game. Shit a microphone?!!??! *cries* I refrained from posting this a couple of weeks ago, because it just 'appeared' on EB Games' release list.
Isindil Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Oh God. Maybe I won't wake up tomorrow. Will it be like the GameCube mic, or some new, small, white something?
