Konfucius Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 what does 'es lebe deutschland' meanis it something like ' this is germany' ? thanks for the help That's a tough one actually. I think a true to words translation won't get you anywhere so I'll explain the meaning and you can figure out for yourself what would be the best translation. "es lebe deutschland" is some form of exclamation that in this case germany is great and it implies that it should have a properous future. Or to explain it in smilies: Germany = :yay: Hope that helped.

Supergrunch Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Gosh it feels good not having any homework! Ive just done many tests at school and now they're finally over. Thankyou Christmas. If only that were true for me... I have hours of chemistry coursework, and I also have to revise for 13 modules in January...
jayseven Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 would anyone like to help me? the question is "is metaphysical poetry centrally concerned with self-expression or persuasion?" LOLSBYEFACETWICEINTEH...
Ginger_Chris Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Holidays at oxford are actually not a break but doing the same amount of work somewhere else. sigh, if anyone knows of any detailed publications about atom lasers anywhere It would be most helpful (I have science america's and science todays articles already). Stupid extended essay research.
somme Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 There wasn't one piece of homework I could have helped with there. If anyone has any questions on Absolutely Fabulous I can help.
Problematique Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Holidays at oxford are actually not a break but doing the same amount of work somewhere else. sigh, if anyone knows of any detailed publications about atom lasers anywhere It would be most helpful (I have science america's and science todays articles already). Stupid extended essay research. Agreed. I've got 3 tutes, 2 lots of classwork and revision to get through. i've not really started yet. Shiiiit.
KingJoe Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 would anyone like to help me? the question is "is metaphysical poetry centrally concerned with self-expression or persuasion?" LOLSBYEFACETWICEINTEH... No. oppppppppppp
Daft Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 In terms of linguistics does anyone know what an 'utterance' is? And what 'Speech Act theory' is?
Strider Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Hey me again, Could someone kindly explain to me step by step how i would find the answer to this question? I would be very greatful Thanks
Supergrunch Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Hey me again, Could someone kindly explain to me step by step how i would find the answer to this question? I would be very greatful Thanks 5/(3x-6) + 2/(x-2) = 6 5/3(x-2) + 2/(x-2) = 6 (take a factor of 3 out) 5/(3(x-2)) + 6/(3(x-2)) = 6 (multiply the top and bottom of the second fraction by 3) 11/(3(x-2)) = 6 (add together, multiply out, tidy up) 11 = 18x - 36 (multiply through by bottom of fraction) 18x = 47 (tidy up) x = 47/18 (divide through by 18) This is linear, so there's only one solution...

I thought it was wrong so i tried my way just to find out its exactly the same. You're too quick to answer, I never get to show off.

Ginger_Chris Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I'm just procrastinating my own homework... If you need any help, I could do with some procrastination from mine :P
Supergrunch Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 If you need any help, I could do with some procrastination from mine :P Lol... I'm fine on it for now, unless you feel like chemistry coursework. Actually, work out the integral of sqrt((x^2) - 9) just for kicks. (I've already done it)
Ginger_Chris Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I refuse to perform like a monkey for your amusement EDIT: chemistry sucks

Calza Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Really stuck, got some Maths homework that I should of had to do during the holidays but I was ill, so i've got till friday to do it. I understand some of it but finding Quadratic Equations a bit confusing. Help? 1 a) t²-36=0 b) x(2x-7)=0 c) 2n²-7n-4=0 d) k(k-4)=21 2 Make a quadratic equation and solve it to find x Thanks in advance
spirited away Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Really stuck, got some Maths homework that I should of had to do during the holidays but I was ill, so i've got till friday to do it. I understand some of it but finding Quadratic Equations a bit confusing. Help? 1 a) t2-36=0 b) x(2x-7)0 c) 2n2-7n-4=0 d) k(k-4)=21 2 Make a quadratic equation and solve it to find x Thanks in advance by t2 u mean t squared? Well if u do a) is 6 as 6x6=36-36=0 b) i'm guessing is 3.5 as 3.5x2 =7-7=0 and 3.5 x 0=0 c)n=4 as n2=16 x2=32 - 7n=4-4=0 d) k is 7
Calza Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Yeah, sorry about that, forgot to go into character map.

I understand some of it but finding Quadratic Equations a bit confusing. Help? 1 a) t²-36=0 b) x(2x-7)0 c) 2n²-7n-4=0 d) k(k-4)=21 2 Make a quadratic equation and solve it to find x Thanks in advance a) t²=36 t= sqrt36 t=6 b) x(2x-7)0 2x²-7x=0 2x²=7x x²=7x/2 x= sqrt (7x/2) You migth want to get someone to change them, as they may be wrong. edit - spirited away is probably right for (b). You need to put © into two brackets. something like (2n+x)(n+x)=0 where x is a numbery you get from using either 7 or 4.
MoogleViper Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 c) 2n²-7n-4=0 (2n+1)(n-4)=0 2n+1=0 or n-4=0 2n=-1 n=-0.5 or n=4 I think that's right.
Supergrunch Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Really stuck, got some Maths homework that I should of had to do during the holidays but I was ill, so i've got till friday to do it. I understand some of it but finding Quadratic Equations a bit confusing. Help? 1 a) t²-36=0 b) x(2x-7)=0 c) 2n²-7n-4=0 d) k(k-4)=21 2 Make a quadratic equation and solve it to find x 1. (a) t^2 = -36 t = 6, -6 (b) x = 0, 7/2 © (2n+1)(n-4) = 0 n = 4, -1/2 (d) (k^2) - 4k - 21 = 0 (k+3)(k-7) = 0 k = 7, -3 2. x(x-7) = 30 (x^2) - 7x - 30 = 0 (x-10)(x+3) = 0 x = 10, -3 But -3 is impossible in this situation, as it would make both sides of the rectangle negative, so x = 10.
