what does 'es lebe deutschland' mean

is it something like ' this is germany' ?

thanks for the help

That's a tough one actually. I think a true to words translation won't get you anywhere so I'll explain the meaning and you can figure out for yourself what would be the best translation.

"es lebe deutschland" is some form of exclamation that in this case germany is great and it implies that it should have a properous future. Or to explain it in smilies:

Germany = :bouncy::yay: :yay:

Hope that helped.

Agreed. I've got 3 tutes, 2 lots of classwork and revision to get through. i've not really started yet. Shiiiit.

Thanks

5/(3x-6) + 2/(x-2) = 6

5/3(x-2) + 2/(x-2) = 6 (take a factor of 3 out)

5/(3(x-2)) + 6/(3(x-2)) = 6 (multiply the top and bottom of the second fraction by 3)

11/(3(x-2)) = 6 (add together, multiply out, tidy up)

11 = 18x - 36 (multiply through by bottom of fraction)

18x = 47 (tidy up)

x = 47/18 (divide through by 18)

This is linear, so there's only one solution...

I thought it was wrong so i tried my way just to find out its exactly the same. You're too quick to answer, I never get to show off.

:( Really stuck, got some Maths homework that I should of had to do during the holidays but I was ill, so i've got till friday to do it. I understand some of it but finding Quadratic Equations a bit confusing. Help?

1

a) t²-36=0

b) x(2x-7)=0

c) 2n²-7n-4=0

d) k(k-4)=21

2 Make a quadratic equation and solve it to find x

Thanks in advance :D

by t2 u mean t squared?

Well if u do a) is 6 as 6x6=36-36=0

b) i'm guessing is 3.5 as 3.5x2 =7-7=0 and 3.5 x 0=0

c)n=4 as n2=16 x2=32 - 7n=4-4=0

d) k is 7

a) t²=36

t= sqrt36

t=6

b) x(2x-7)0

2x²-7x=0

2x²=7x

x²=7x/2

x= sqrt (7x/2)

You migth want to get someone to change them, as they may be wrong.

edit - spirited away is probably right for (b).

You need to put © into two brackets. something like (2n+x)(n+x)=0 where x is a numbery you get from using either 7 or 4.

1.

(a) t^2 = -36

t = 6, -6

(b) x = 0, 7/2

© (2n+1)(n-4) = 0

n = 4, -1/2

(d) (k^2) - 4k - 21 = 0

(k+3)(k-7) = 0

k = 7, -3

2. x(x-7) = 30

(x^2) - 7x - 30 = 0

(x-10)(x+3) = 0

x = 10, -3

But -3 is impossible in this situation, as it would make both sides of the rectangle negative, so x = 10.
