Looking forward to this one. Never played starfox, but from what i've seen the DS could easely serve as a radar screen and a contact screen, jsut like in a real spaceship. Allowing you to tap buttons to switch guns or something on the DS' touch-screen. Would be kinda cool.

The long standing Star Fox franchise could be winging its way to the Wii, if revered series producer Takaya Imamura has his usual resolute way.

Speaking in a VIP interview with Nintendo Europe, Immamura was inevitably posed with the crucial question of whether or not a new iteration of the Star Fox franchise would see the light of day on Nintendo Wii.

His divergent response was; "I wonder how the adventure of Fox and friends is going to go next time?! I have come up with some idea in my mind but it is still just a small one. I will try my best so that I can deliver it to you some time!"

Although this tight-lipped reply by no means clarifies the game actual existence, it does reveal that the game is currently at the ineluctable drawing-board stage, which will undoubtedly be welcomed news for any fans of the delectable Star Fox series.

loved the first one, loved lylat wars agreed, but after that have to disagree, what little I played of assault wasn't too great, just felt like something was missing, maybe I should have spent more time with it. and whilst Adventures was a good game it did stray away from the franchise a bit too much for my liking.

warioware's little boss level from the first starfox is such a tease! motion control starfox would be so awesome!

Obviously it's only a matter of time. I do think the series needs to take a lurch forward right about now. Command-style free roaming levels only much busier, and a Co-op methinks?

Assault was very very different to the classic Starfox formula. I think there were too many on-land levels but regardless I still had fun. The visuals were also very nice.

Adventures only became a Starfox game at the last minute hence how different it is to the others. Although it's no where near as good as Zelda, I loved it. Big adventure, great visuals, nice twists, nice variations on the story and some cool puzzles.

Bring back On-Rails and the cool communication from the N64. "You'll never defeat Andross!"

Also bring back multiple paths.

I want a true sequel to LylatWars, screw innovation on that one.

i thought assualt had the right idea with ground battles.it may not have worked then but at least namco were thinking big.Nintendo tend to be chicken shits with thinking big

Bring back On-Rails .

OH HELL NO!

A good mixture between on rails and free roaming please and no bloody land missions! (I mean on foot)

Lylat Wars is one of my all time favourite games, a proper sequel to it would be brilliant.

I either want this game to be Jet Force Gemini 2 (Guns blazing sci-fi bloodbath) or Lylat Wars 2 (On rails hardcore awesomeness).

If Nintendo could get around twenty levels with multiple paths i'd be happy. And I want at least one trippy secret level.

:)

For the controls, I'd like to see the nunchuk analogue used to move the Arwing, with the pointer directing your fire. A quick flick of the Nunchuk could activate the spin/shield, and the C-Button combined with a Nunchuk or remote flick could activate the 180 turn or loop the loop.

I think that would be a fine balance between innovation and familiarity.

On the point of Third parties, I was excited that Namco were to help in development when it was first announced...They did produce Starblade and Galaxian 3 which were to all intents and purposes pretty much bang on with what Starfox was at the time, Admittedly they didnt really present the goods to the level I expected. First party all the way would be preferable on this one for me.

A true Sequel to Lilet Wars would be nice though.....Just a true next gen version of the Independance day style attack on Corneria base level would make me a very happy man.

The Wii control system....what could be said ?

I was thinking along the lines of flying with the analogue and targetting with the Wiimote which would allow for more flying freedom.

And they could get rid of the dialogue and go back to the wierd alien animal noises. This could be played on the wiimote speaker to give a more authentic 'radio' feel.

I think a mix between Lylat Wars & Rogue Squadren would make the best Starfox game.

I totally agree with you there. I would like that.

yep couldn't agree more. think what people have said about the nunchuk control is right aswell would work best, not just wiimote control.

Nintendo in my opinion couldn't go wrong with buying the rights to using to freespace engine for a commercial release and employing the guys behind this:

they've got so far in just their spare time. has that star wars kinda feeling to it, and what better way for Nintendo to promote homebrew game making! knowing them though as soon as they get wind of it they will send a cease and desist order.

Star Wars combined with Star Fox is the way the game should go....Since the original Snes version something to me always felt like it was trying to be Star Wars anyway without stepping on the Lucas side of things too much.

Star Fox always was like Star Wars, except it was only good when it was on rails.
