andyt76 Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Anyone know where i can get a replacement sensor bar stand?? bought my Wii on Saturday and am pretty sure it never came in the box. If it did i have now thrown it away!! Cheers
Nintendork Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 You can have mine if you want? £2 postage of course.. but might be worth contacting Nintendo UK direct (see Nintendo.co.uk) and they might send you one free. Just say it wasn't in the box and see what they say- as far as I know they have like 5000 unopened e.mails at the moment since the Wii launch and very few are making it through to Nintendo Germany. Give it a couple of days and get back to me, if you get no response from them.

Tellyn Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Yeah I've emailed... Three times since December and no reply. Yet Red Octane got back to me within five minutes when I queried about Wii being included in 'all next-gen formats receiving Guitar Hero II'. If you're interested, they aren't allowed to talk about future products.
Charlie Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 The sensor bar is meant to come with a stand? Looks like I missed out on that too... Can someone take a picture of it please?
Cube Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Can someone take a picture of it please? Theres a pic here
Nintendork Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 No. Because it is stupid to want to see it. It's just some stupid see through plastic thing which isn't really needed.

Don't worry Moria, you're not alone. A lot of people have done it, it did take me the best part of a week to realise what it was though.

Well if you didn't get something which you're supposed to get with it, but didn't, you'd probably want to see it to. Thank you Cube. I will be dispatching an email to Nintendo later about this. I'm not actually going to use it, its just the principle that I didn't get something I was supposed to.
Jasper Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 No. Because it is stupid to want to see it. It's just some stupid see through plastic thing which isn't really needed. It made the sensor bar look less bulky and more stylish. I used it, untill I packed my Wii to play somewhere else. I pulled it off and never reattached it. Ah well.
Din Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I'll have to check in the box to see if I've got one of these things. I didn't notice it if I have got one.

If it did i have now thrown it away!! Cheers Did you throw away all the packaging and instructions for the wii or something? Not a wise move, you might need it if you run into any problems with the wii...
4q2 Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Recycle your old xmas tree. They worked a treat apparently.
Eenuh Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Eh? I never noticed a stand in my box... So either I missed it or it just wasn't in there. Don't think I would use it though, but still.

There was definately one in there (check the box contents list), just cant remember where in the box it was packed. Im sure it was well protected in that foamy wrap stuff as well which may have been a reason for some ppl missing it. If the wii-mote works ok without it I suppose it isnt a problem, but it helps if the screen case you are using is slightly bevelled. (ie. many non flat screen TV's)
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I'm currently using the stand for my sensor bar. When I took the Wii home for Christmas, I thought it looked better on that specific tv without the stand, so didn't use it. It's a style thing, really. Nothing more to it than that. Not exactly a life or death situation. Although I've very tempted to make a custom stand out of lego.
Eenuh Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 That's making me wonder, where do you people place your sensor bar? On top of the tv or at the base? Cause with our old tv, I had it on top of it, but with the new big flat screen, I thought it would work better to have it at the base (and it seems to work fine I think). Not sure I'd want to use the stand for the sensor bar, but I'm going to dig in the box and look for it anyway.
4q2 Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I noticed the sensor works better for me on the stand on the top of the set, but i think its to do with the angle of play. In all honesty, everyones setup will be different depending on where they operate the wiimote from. If my settee was higher, it would possibly allow for the stand not to be used. Although I've very tempted to make a custom stand out of lego. I think I may try this. Unless I can get my hands on a spare NES Rob.
Eenuh Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I actually found the thing in the box; seriously missed that when opening up the box (must've been too excited or something). I put it up there now, and it actually looks quite nice, so I might keep it. =3
Jasper Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Here's a nice tip, wich is stated on about every box: Do not throw packaging away! There's a reason for that. If you sell your console again, it's best to have a packaging to sell it in. That's what it's point is. The Wii packaging allows this with ease, but the GameCube's (or the PS3's) didn't. Don't throw away game boxes away either, for safe storage and resale. Always keep the stuff. It's worth more when it's in a nice box.

Yeah, I never throw any boxes away, so they stay in perfect condition. A good quality box makes the product so much more valuable.
nicolasmasset Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 On some tv's, i get better reception when putting the sensor bar on the stand, as the stand has a little downward angle to it, so it sometimes does have it's use, or on my one tv upstairs, where the flat part of the top of the tv starts about 2 cm's deeper than the face of the screen..
