Nintendo Selects Sonic to Enable DVD Functionality
Dilli Gee replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I played GoW in SD and I was disappointed. HD really is now. -
Everybody's fucked if that happens. It'd be cheaper to update the core into a premium, than getting even a Wii.
-
Out of 17? Um, 16/17.
-
Gears of War is my new favourite game of the last 5 years.
-
The demo's cool (on Xbox 360) but requires a fair bit of mastering.
-
It's pre-rendered. The first few anyway.
-
I've pre-ordered from HMV. The games are only £33, with delivery.
-
It's not "Corp"; the logo doesn't even have enough space to include it.
-
Resident Evil 5 seems to be set in the Middle East, could be awesome. I'm predicting possibly there's a war going on, and the enemy have used a virus to turn their own soldiers and civilians into zombies, so they kill the "goodies" without remorse.
-
I see it more like a westernised version of PoP.
-
Resident Evil 5 is exclusive to PS3 and Xbox 360. They might make a Vista version, as it's easy to do off of the 360 build, but a Wii version is unlikely.
-
Nintendo don't really "own" the handheld market, the PS3 is only 1.2 million behind the DS.
-
It's really the developer's choice to make it 360 compatible, nothing to do with Microsoft.
-
Well I'd rather they took the time to deliver a more systems to Europe, than getting a limited number. Plus Europe's version of the PS3 will probably be updated more than the other versions.
-
I think the Wii is easier to produce, so that's why there are more units available. Sony wouldn't willingly delay the PS3 in Europe, missing out the Christmas period.
-
I already own a 360. I'm content with it. But I earn £700 a month sitting on my fat arse, and have more than enough cash to buy a Wii. I just don't feel any particular excitement towards it. I asked if you could try to intrigue me. You haven't. Nintendo's loss.

I thought the storyline could have been a bit better. It was over-stretched a fair bit I think, and I felt it breezed over the alien-human aliance part quite quickly. And it was weird with half the game being from the alien perspective. But a lot of shit happened, remember: - Africa is under attack, and Master Chief joins the fight - Civil War in the Convenant - Delta Halo's destruction - The Arbiter joins the Elites (a major change to the dynamics of Halo) - Standby mode for all the other Halos - Gravemind conspires with Cortana It sets up the next game, and is the type of storyline that promises action, adventure and mystery in Halo 3. Everything will come full circle. And Halo 2 is still the biggest selling entertainment product of all time.

Give me some "interesting games" to look up, I would honestly like to know. Who knows, it might convince me to get a Wii at launch.
-
Because Windows Vista and Xbox 360 are being made entirely compatible with each other, most exclusive first party titles are being made for both systems, which are Microsoft. Actually, in the case of their online games, people playing on Vista systems can compete against Xbox Live players. How many of Nintendo's "100 titles in development" have you actually seen or heard of, beyond Nintendo's press release? Aside from the launch titles, I can only think of about 10 to 15. And the "100 games" comment was made months ago.
-
I still think Microsoft's exclusive line-up in better: Gears of War, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Peter Jackson's Halo, GTA IV Episodes, Marvel Universe Online, Banjo Kazooie 3, Dead or Alive 5, Project Gotham Racing 4, Splinter Cell 5: Conviction, BioShock, and there are probably many more. I mean, Microsoft managed to nab exclusives from Peter Jackson and Marvel Comics - these are huge titles. They're certainly taking gaming seriously this time, and both Nintendo and Sony will suffer.
-
Saints Row came out last month iirc. Just Cause is pretty good. Gears of War next month. They also have a lot of quality titles in development right now. And unlike Nintendo, Microsoft actually have the goods to show.
-
I agree with Moria, Halo 2 is imo the best game ever, especially thanks to Live and the expansions. I personally think it's better than Zelda: OOT, because you get a fairly deep storyline (though not as detailed) and characters, but also multiplayer-extreme.
-
Probably when it gets to £130 to £150, I'm guessing when the PS3 launches. But I might just tap into my bank account and get a PS3 instead (I class that as better value for money), but I'll probably get a Wii just for diversity. Zelda is pretty much the only reason I would consider getting a Wii at launch; if it's average or the control system weakens the title, I'll probably wait until the price goes down or Mario's released. Just to add: I think Microsoft own this generation, in terms of software. They're putting so much more effort into their first and second party games, it's amazing. Nintendo seem to over-rely on this controller and Ubisoft, and there aren't as many first or second party titles as you'd normally expect there to be. Sony are being twats as well.
-
Well these predictions are just that, predictions, and are not much different to that PS3 one the other day. We'll see is all I can really say. I still think Nintendo will have an amazing launch, just like GameCube, and then a gradual tumble, just like GameCube.

I'm not getting a Wii until it goes down in price. I don't think it's value for money, and stand by that thought. However if Zelda is really "better" than all the other Zelda games, I might consider purchasing it at launch. I don't think Wii is going to sell out either, so there's no hurry.
