Half the games you mentioned aren't exclusive to - or even on - the Wii. 2 FPS, 3 RPGs, 1 racing title - that's quite diverse imo. And both Halo 3 and Bioshock aren't conventional FPS, because they're more adventure quests that just happen to be in the first person (like Oblivion). My only issue with X360 is it doesn't particularly cater to children, or young audiences. Yeah, sure, Viva Pinata sold a lot and stuff, but Nintendo is the place to go for family/children games.

Blue Dragon is a mixed bag - if you're into JRPGs, its paradise. If you're a casual gamer, it's too long and boring at times. Bioshock is an exclusive to Xbox 360 and Vista, as Microsoft paid for the game. It's also the best mother-fucking game of the year so far! Lost Odyssey is made by the same people as Final Fantasy, so that might be why it looks similar, but it's a JRPG (as opposed to normal RPG). Bioware made KOTOR. They're some of the best games, ever. I personally think Nintendo should out-source more mature games. MGS does that a lot, and it means each game is generally of a better quality, and they can produce more of them.

No, they're all first and second party titles. And I have both a Wii and a 360. The former hasn't been touched for weeks on end. There are tonnes of third party games on 360, I was on about exclusive titles.

Why the Hell is it failing to excite me as a gamer? Sure, casual games are fun and sell really well, but Nintendo has a loyalty to its core gaming audience, and it's failing to deliver. Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 aren't enough in my books. I want more original titles Goddamn it! Microsoft Game Studios is releasing a new big-name exclusive each month (Bioshock and Blue Dragon last month, Halo 3 this month, PGR4 next month, Mass Effect in November, Lost Odyssey in December). Only 2 of these titles are sequels, the rest are original games. I'm afraid it's true, Nintendo are losing their video game making edge... to Microsoft!

I thought it was a free-roaming title, like GTA.

AC will be November's biggest selling title (aside from EA Sports stuff).

Assassin's Creed is probably Ubisoft's most expensive game, ever. Wii definitely is helping to fund it, but ironically, Wii won't be getting the game. I'm split on this. I do believe Ubisoft should invest in more original non-casual games for the Wii, but if releasing shit on Wii results in better games on my Xbox 360, I'm not fussed.

I remember the TV ad with Samus walking down a high-street or something at night, and transforming into suited-Samus. That aired on ITV2 and MTV.

As someone who doesn't particularly favour the PS3, I'm impressed with their conference, and am beginning to see why the PS3 might be the longest-lasting system of all 3.
-
I'm going to buy the game when it's cheaper. I'm not desperately gagging for it, and I've got a lot of DVDs to go through at the mo (plus Halo 3 soon, and WoW! Eeek!). But it looks really good.

I'm finding the Wii a bit shallow at the moment. All the third party games seem to be ports, that don't really push the system forward at all.
-
Not really. The market is in FPS. And sports-titles. That's why there are more games in these genres than any other.
-
I'm pretty certain Halo 3 will single-handedly increase Xbox 360 sales by the millions.

It's not. Haven't you heard? Wii is for PS2 ports, not next-gen ports!
-
Not fussed. It'll give me more time to nail Halo 3, and I'll now buy Assassin's Creed earlier.

Halo 3. My October.

I like the Bee Mario suit most of all.

They're not zombies, they're the things from Resident Evil 4.

CONTEXT/STORY: It's set in Jerusalem during the Crusades, where Saladin, the city's Islamic leader, is leading an attack against Richard the Great and his Christian invaders. Saladin, not wanting his city taken from him, is at war fighting Richard, and leaves his city in the hands of generals - however these generals are corrupt and have made Jerusalem a mess. The main character is Altaïr, a disgraced assassin, who has to bring Jerusalem back to the way Saladin left it. In doing so, he will regain his status as an assassin.

Not so. Pokemon is wholly owned by Nintendo (via their Pokemon USA Inc. and Pokemon Co. subsidiaries). Game Freak is a second party developer Nintendo delegates to make the HANDHELD RPG games. They do not own the franchise, nor even part own. If Nintendo wanted another company (lets say HAL Labs) to make a Pokemon RPG, they can. And just for the record, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is by Chunsoft, Pokemon Ranger and Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 by HAL Labs, and the GC/Wii games by Genius Sonority. EDIT: HAL Lab's Pokemon Ranger is an RPG, so that's proof enough.

Nintendo own the franchise. They can make whatever game they want.

Why not? It'd be like World of Warcraft. Instead of "warrior", "paladin" and "mage" classes, you have "trainer", "healer" and "breeder" classes (among others like "coordinator" and "watcher" - the latter could implement Pokemon Snap elements). You don't have different races, but you have different nationalities - so players start off in different regions, like Kanto, Johto, Orange Islands, etc. And it would work like this: gym bosses and important Pokemon/characters will be non-interactive AI, but everyone else is an online player. You can team up with other online players, and form your own clan and travel the Pokemon world with them, or play it alone. The general Pokemon trainer's aim is to defeat the Elite Four or equivalent, and become a Pokemon Master. The breeder's aim is successfully breed hundreds of pokemon, and get recognised for it. Coordinators must win lots of talent shows. Watchers generally try to get their art work/photos published. And healers must try to attain a certificate in Pokemon veterinary care. Finally, the villains of the game are Team Rocket, and a sub-quest is to thwart their evil plans.

The storyline's a bit risky though: you play an Arab out to kill influential Jewish/Christian figures. Nothing particularly "wrong" about it, it's just like a normal game, but in today's climate a bit risky.
