  1. Whoops! Forgot about that
  2. I am playing Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed online while lying in bed This is the future! Off TV Play is a true killer feature that alone justfies any multiplatform releases on the console. I want to be able to play all my PS360 (and earler console) games like this Even if you don't bother incoporating any real 2nd screen usage, Off TV Play is reason enough to do any port dammit!
  3. I bet that the majority of those are Wii Ware titles, like Castlevania Rebirth, World of Goo, Bomberman Blast, La Mulana and Maboshi's Arcade, that didn't get the exposure they deserved Maybe it might be a good idea to include an addendum that includes those lesser known titles that just missed the list!
  4. Cheers! Forgot about that!
  5. It does, plus the endless bonus stage. Each stage is pretty short, but oh so sweet! It's not hard to beat the game really, but netting the best scores is tough as nails. It's deep, very replayable and very fun. Best game on eShop, I highly recommend it! It is the same price.
  6. If you have a Samsung HDTV, this non overscan option is also known as Just Scan. Also here's a hint for those looking to reduce input lag on some Samsung TVs. Rename your HDMI input name to "PC"; on many models, this will turn off some image processing features that would otherwise increase input lag (note, it may be necessary to plug the Wii U into the HDMI1 socket for this to work, depending on your set)
  7. Nicely done! Always love hearing lucky find stories like this around console launches
  8. Playing splitscreen with one person on the Gamepad and the other on the TV is a beautiful, beautiful thing
  9. Oh yes. Very replayable, lots of depth in netting a higher score. Coming from someone who finds Super Stardust HD to be a boring snooze fest, NAN is a FAAAAARRRRR better game
  10. Yup! Game is fantastic! Shinen deliver once again! PS: I WILL beat your first level score. You're going down!
  11. Good news, but why only 24 input directions? Shouldn't it be 360 directions?
  12. Those are minutes, not seconds. It's a bit weird how it's laid out, but the remaining time goes like this... XX:YY (X = hours, Y = minutes)
  13. As if your new sig didn't make that obvious enough
  14. Nah, it's not a brightness issue, it's the colour saturation. My TV's colours are much richer than the Gamepad's. Probably not something that can be fixed I guess. I wouldn't expect the Gamepad to match the quality of my TV though (My TV is pretty bloody awesome after all :awesome: )
  15. Luigi's Ghost Mansion is the best game I've played so far, it's utterly brilliant!
  16. Excitetruck is a real shocker! Never expected that one to get so high! Such a shame that we never got Excitebots, you guys have no idea what you're missing. It's bonkers amazing! I also kind of expected LKS to crack the top 10, susprised that it fell just short. Another interesting and surprising list
  17. There's a trailer up on the Wii U eShop and it includes an EU release date! Dec 20 is the day for us!
  18. Yeah true. The eShop is especially useless for retail games here in the UK since absolutely nobody charges the full RRP on games here (not even B&M stores, let alone online shops, which are cheaper still!)
  19. Has anyone checked out the eShop yet? Eager to know what is currently available for us to download! BTW my update wasn't that slow really. Took about 40mins all in all (or so I was told by those enjoying it home right now, while I'm here at work...) And my boxes were all really cold too. Strange, but it's working fine and nothing's damaged so I don't care Edit: Nevermind, found a partial list here http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/11/nintendo_download_30th_november_2012_europe_wii_u_edition WTF!? Is Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed really £39.99!? That's £10 ABOVE the retail RRP and the DD price on all other platforms, WTF SEGA!? Can someone check the price of that game on the eShop for me? That can't be right surely? The RRP is £29.99!
  20. I don't know what time is the cutoff for TMT or DPD, but some of these courier services deliver as late as 20:00. Don't give up hope yet! P.S The wait to get home is unbearable! Best part is that by the time I do get home, I'll probably be too knackered to want to play the damn thing!
  21. BTW, the smooth edges discs are awesome. They feel SOOOO CUUUUUTTTEEE!!!
  22. So I've got my Wii U, but I'm not gonna get a chance to play it till I get back from work later on, so here's my initial thoughts on the console & Gamepad based on a quick 30 min screw around in setting it up. The console is shockingly small! It's barely any bigger than my Wii! . It's also about the same weight - incredible really! The Gamepad's image quality is excellent! When actually using the Gamepad, the image looks pretty much as sharp as my 1080p 40" HDTV (from sitting 6 feet away). No complaints at all! The Gamepad is also shockingly light! Feels about the same weight as a 360 controller, even though it's technically about 200 grams heavier; the weight distribution is perfect. Feels super comfy! (And this is coming from someone who finds the iPad to be uncomfortably heavy in use!) The Gamepad's face buttons are probably most similar to the N64 controller's A & B buttons, or the original Classic Controller's face buttons - though with a slight rubbery texture. Feels responsive, with a nice balance between clicky and mushy (feels responsive like the former ones, but softer on the thumbs). The D-Pad is pretty much the same as the one on the original Classic Controller (that's a very good thing BTW!), while the shoulder buttons are... different. Probably the closest comparison with the Gamepad's shoulder buttons can be found with the 3DS Circle Pad Pro. They feel pretty much the same, but with a bit more give - very nice, I like them a lot The plus and minus buttons are almost identical to the ones on the Wii Remote, but made bigger and again with a bit more give, while the ancillary buttons like Home and TV are within easy reach and feel pretty much the same as the Home button on the Wii Remote. The touch screen is super responsive as well. No issues with using my thumb on it in place of a stylus (speaking of which, I haven't had a chance to try out the stylus yet), it's at least as responsive as the 3DS screen, if not moreso - so don't fear about it being uncomfortable with using your thumbs, like some reviewers would have you believe And the sticks, despite not getting to try it out with a game yet, feel tight and responsive. It's just as tight as a Nintendo analog stick always is and though it feels similar to the Dual Shock stick, due to the loss of the octagonal gate, puts it to shame in terms of responsiveness. Volume is pretty good too. Granted I've only heard the sounds of the system setup and the system update sound (that's when I had to leave), but the volume seems to be at least on par with the original 3DS, so no complaints there The audio quality coming from the Gamepad itself also seems nice, crisp and clear (of what little I could hear from the system setup!). As for the Pro Controller... The buttons and sticks are all more or less the same as on the Gamepad (except for the plus & minus buttons, which are the same as the Wii remote and Classic Controller/CCPro). The controller itself is around the same weight as a Dual Shock 3 (making it significantly lighter than a 360 controller and a bit heavier than a Classic Controller Pro). I find that it's also easy to reach the face buttons when using the two sticks and it feels comfortable to hold in all positions (d-pad face buttons, d-pad right stick, left stick face buttons, left stick right stick), so I don't think that the stick placement is an issue, like some have feared In terms of Gamepad range, it reaches almost every room in my house (including my bedroom!) just fine. The exceptions are only the storage rooms and a strange room where no WiFi signal can seem to reach no matter what (getting any sort of WiFi signal in there is impossible!). In all, the range is a bit less than my router, but not by much - so I reckon that most people who are hoping to play it around the house and on the crapper will be very happy Overall, very happy with the controller design and all that. My only real complaint is that the Gamepad stand isn't very secure. It works like the 3DS charging cradle and is just as easy to take out of, but I reckon it might be a problem if you're playing a game like Pikmin 3 that uses both the Gamepad and the Wii Remote and you find yourself tapping the screen quite hard, knocking it out of place.
  23. IT'S HERE!!! Just in time for me to set up before going out to work... EDIT:. THE SIGNAL REACHES MY BEDROOM PERFECTLY!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!!
  24. Iwata Asks is out! (Beware, the 5th page contains spoilers - which I happily skipped through most of!) http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/3ds/papermario/0/1 A few choice excerpts... And once again, an IA gets me excited to play the final game
  25. Me too (and I bet that mine will arrive just before I leave...)
