Well it pretty much is already a thicker DVD drive! The switch to a toploader no doubt would make the drive itself much smaller though (which is probably the main source of the space savings here) Either way, there's a decent chance that we might not get this redesign here in Europe in the end. We never got the NES toploader or the SNES Jr after all!
-
Oh wow, so it IS real! Looks like a top loader to me (gets flashbacks to the PS2 Slim) It can't be that much smaller can it? How much smaller can you make the damn thing!?
-
Well it's up in Austalia now and it's free, so I guess you win this round @Serebii

There's an Iwata Asks for ZombiU out now! http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Iwata-asks/Iwata-asks-ZombiU/ZombiU/1-Two-Zombis-And-U/1-Two-Zombis-And-U-676539.html

Nice! Bet you 200 yen that they wont be free in Europe though...
-
It should well be. Xmas comes once every year. A new console only comes once every 5-7 years after its predecessor
-
Yeah you do, it's just being held hostage by a group of thugs who are waiting until the Feds (Nintendo) force them to hand over the goods.
-
Yep, mine is processing now too. Still reckon that they'll wait till Thursday to actually ship them out though.
-
I guess that they really are going to wait until Thursday before shipping them out then (meaning that it wont arrive till Friday) Oh well, guess I'm not getting it early

Wii U Launch Day Buyers: What's your plan of action?
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
First order of business is checking out Miiverse and seeing what everyone is up to. Then a range test to see how far I can go with the thing Then jump straight into Nintendo Land (the other games will get played later ) -
This week's haul... http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/11/nintendo_download_29th_november_2012_europe No mention of anything Wii U related, and a Nicalis title (Nightsky) misses its planned release date once again...
-
Shouldn't it be up by now? It was meant to be down for 2 weeks no?

The prices will no doubt settle down to the usual £40 standard eventually. They're just reaming the early adopters who are willing to pay these stupid prices.
-
So is the save bug still present in the EU version then? RSG mentioned that they were unable to replicate the save corruption bug on Facebook... Anyone here suffered from it when saving in the PEC rooms?
-
It's not that it's a formal agreement, it's just not in Nintendo's interest to piss off the retailers that sell their consoles. That's the reason why they started that download card programme where retailers could set whatever price they wanted for them (which for some utterly stupid reason hasn't been made available outside Japan )
-
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is $5 cheaper on the eShop in the US than the retail version ($55 vs $60) Ok that's not much of a saving, but it's still a saving! (if you add on cashback from that DD programme back though, you're actually netting $10.50 in savings )
-
Not necessarily true for 3rd parties though. Haven't there been a few who have offered their game at a cheaper price on eShop than at retail? Either way, £29.99 is a great price for SASRT and it's no cheaper at retail, so I'm getting that one on the eShop at least

Selecting a TV channel/programme on Nintendo TVii will automatically switch your TV and Sky/Virgin box over to the correct input source and channel AFAIK Not sure about whether or not amps can be controlled with the Wii U Gamepad, but that all depends on what the Gamepad's Remote Control app is able to connect to (BTW, the remote control functionality is available at launch for us!)
-
Surprised that nobody offered that deal sooner. Bundling the two machines together seems like such a no-brainer, considering that Sony admitted that they're looking to sell the Vita to the PS3 audience. Good price for the two consoles as well! (Sony could take some good hints from what Amazon are doing) Why the hell not position it as a Wii U competitor and all? It's not like the Vita is doing any good on its own!

Here's hoping that they're referring to us here in Europe! (considering that they were replying to a Greek guy, that's a good sign )

Good news . Keep that publisher mandated shite out of my Bioshock!
-
Not surprised. It's a launch title for Japan and no 3rd party had access to Miiverse until the day it launched in the US, which makes sense since it wasn't ready until then (it's also why NSMBU and Nintendo Land needed Day-1 updates, since the dev units had no Miiverse support) Not a big deal though. As long as I can still take screenshots and brag about my exploits on Miiverse itself, I'm happy

Probably wont get processed till Monday now. No matter, it could still get shipped out Tuesday or Wednesday! (Worst case scenario, we get on launch day)

Another one bites the dust. Very sad to see another longstanding developer go downhill like this Agreed wholeheartedly. There's an enormous amount of UK talent just going to waste right now. They'd do well to start up their own studio here in the UK and snap up the talent just lying around (all the better that a lot of ex Rareware staff are still here, they already had a working relationship!) Get them working on some exclusive titles that cover genres that their internal developers wouldn't want to cover!
