I thought that was hilarious myself. The most powerful object in all of the Zelda universe and it's just lying around in a non descript chest, in a typical room. No fanfare, just "oh here, have a Triforce. No big deal"

I can see why some may have been disappointed in SS's OST, considering that it's the first orchastrated Zelda, right of the back of the last console Zelda being criticised for featuring a very movie esc soundtrack without the production and audio quality to match. Skyward Sword's OST, for the most part, is basically the polar opposite to Twilight Princess in that it doesn't feature that much in the way of a grand soundscape (outside of a few select tracks like the opening intro, various cutscene music, boss battles and the Skyworld overworld theme) and it's not hard to see why it may have been disappointing to some, who may have hoped to hear something more along the lines of Zelda TP - but with a grand orchestra. I think that much like its art style, it straddles a line inbetween Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (though perhaps closer to the former than the latter), between the more subdued or unusual tracks and the bombastic/epic - though also containing a style of its own (Fi's theme, the various songs that you learn and yes Faron Woods too are completely unlike any other tunes in the series!) It's an oddball OST and I really like it myself. It's not my favourite of the series (that title goes to Wind Waker, with Spirit Tracks being a close second), but it's one of the better ones (and in a series that has given us a consistently amazing selection of soundtracks, that's saying a lot!)

N-Europe's Top 50 Wii Games: The Results [NUMBERS 10-1!!]

So is the dream dead? Or will we be blessed with the full 20-01 list to commemorate the final day before Wii U? -
Just as well that I'm working all day tomorrow then! I won't be able to touch the console till almost midnight anyway and I don't really want my first experience with the console to be sans Miiverse and all the fancy features. Cheers for the heads up, the wait at work won't feel quite as grating now

Don't think anyone has yet. Either way, you can't redeem it until next year
-
In that case, you should recieve the message automatically and then find the menu option at the bottom of the main coin rush menu screen (where you select Streetpass or regular coin rush)
-
How the hell did I forget Four Swords!? Shameful! Only if you play it in single player, as it was never designed to be playable with one lone Link. It's an amazing multiplayer game, but a really boring single player one (there's a damn good reason why the original GBA version was multiplayer only!)
-
Yeah it's been a real free software bonanza with the 3DS! 10 free NES games, 10 free GBA games, free 3D Classic Excitebike, free 3DClassics Kid Icarus, free retail download with 3DSXL. Am I missing anything here?
-
Where do you go to select the game you want? Can't find anything Edit: Nevermind, found it I do wonder why they're doing this now all of a sudden though. Might it not be selling as well as they expected throughout November? Also for those that pick up a 3DSXL game bundle, that's TWO free games they're getting! )

Fucking ACE!!! NOE>>>>NOA once again! I am so getting New Style Boutique! (got everything else already, plus I was actually interested in NSB to boot!)
-
Have you got Spotpass turned on? The shop doesn't appear in the menu until you receive a Spotpass notification from Nintendo (it then appears at the bottom of the screen in the coin rush menu)

Upscaling is not the same as uprezing (which is what the Dolphin emulator does). Upscaling is just taking the 480p image and blowing it up to HD resolution by scaling (the clue is in the name!). Your TV already does this, but some people may have a crappy scaler in their HDTV so for them, they'll notice a slightly better picture. What Dolphin is doing is actually re-rendering the game in a higher resolution (like a PC game would if you increased its resolution). This can only be done through software emulation and there's no magic pixie dust that can make it work with the original hardware. Emulation is also generally a really spotty form of compatibility and only really works perfectly if you emulate each game one by one (that's how the Virtual Console works), hence why the Wii U does not emulate the Wii - compatibility would be too low and a lot of games just wouldn't work. The journey is its own reward

The way that they've incorporated the extra levels is really quite cool. It's definitely not just the classic levels untouched, but rather a cool remix of each level with some novel twists and surprises involved with the way that the mountain of coins is shoved in. Fun stuff

Just woke up to the sound of my iPhone telling me that my Wii U has shipped. Now THAT's the way to start the day! Too bad that I'm working tomorrow, so I'm not actually gonna be able to play the Wii U till I get back!
-
Good man. Same here BTW, I'm not the only one who thought that the press release for Into Darkness sounds like a group of around 5-10 marketing men just slammed into the text, every generic soundbite they could possibly make into a coherent sentence am I?

Fixed for US only dateness so farus.

I just want an EU release date already!

Good thing that the can't buy the Gamepad seperately

Will enjoy watching this later Cheers for the heads up! -
Exclusive to Canada!? WTF!? How random! (Good thing that VGPlus are based in Canada ) Is it wrong that I want this just for collection purposes? I'd probably never actually use it but I kinda want one just to sit alongside my NES toploader and SNES Jr. Just looks so 90s cool
-
Oh, nevermind then. That's still pretty cool though. Looking forward to playing it
-
Historically speaking, whenever Nintendo has done a proper chasis redesign of their console (i.e, not just an internal revision or a removal of ports for cost saving reasons), they've always released it after the launch of that console's successor (see the NES toploader and the SNES Jr) At this point the console is on its way out, with no new software or firmware updates in the pipeline. It's a way to cut costs, while offering additional value to those that can't afford a Wii U right now. It also helps to differentiate the old console's physical design from the Wii U (not that I think that to be anywhere near as big a problem as the forum dwelling folk seem to believe) That being said, we have never seen any of these redesigns ever get an EU launch...

Oh wow that's awesome! Hope we get more packs like that, even if they charge a higher price for them (I like the random course selection element, helps keep things fresh in the 3 base packs )
-
Hang on a tick? Aren't we missing a course pack? Shouldn't there be another one containing SMB3 levels? Or does this include the 2 extra levels hidden away somehow? (Not gonna get a chance to play it till later on)
