General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I can't remember where it leaked from (probably Linked in), but supposedly a Wii U version of Splinter Cell Blacklisted is in the works for Wii U. With Ubisoft being bestest buddies with Nintendo though, it shouldn't really come as a surprise. Also, it seems that an NDA is still in place for 3rd party titles... The Wii U version of F1 Race Stars was constantly denied to exist when the publisher was asked about it. Fast forward a few months and it suddenly & magically appeared on NOE's Q1 release list... -

No, but that's what the next Nintendo Direct is for They're both still listed as Q1, meaning that they're either coming out in Feburary or March. -
Advertising watchdog bans Nintendo TV ad

Oh well. On the bright side, maybe it'll encourage Nintendo to make some better ads? -

To be fair, Wii Fit U and Game & Wario at the very least are both due for release in the next 2 months. They should both shift some hardware. -

I don't think that they can afford to wait all the way until E3 before announcing big future titles mind you. They need to drum up some excitement long before then in order to give the Wii U some momentum! Of course they can't unveil all of their hand before then (because they're gonna get crushed underneath a sea of hype from the two new consoles at E3!), but come on! They need to throw us a frickin' bone here! -

Yeah of course and it just feeds into the currently popular Wii U = Doomed narrative. That being said, it is a worse drop than I expected. PS3's first post-Xmas drop was from 69,944 the previous Xmas week to 25,531; and I was expecting the Wii U to fare a bit better than that... On the bright side though, the NSMBU and Nintendo Land attach rates are simply incredible! Pretty much every Wii U buyer is also buying either one or both of those two games! -

A drop to 20K immediately after Xmas is pretty bad though. I was expecting it to at least hold steady at around 35K... -
Very good news. Let's hope that voice chat is also included!

TBH, if you told me that NSMBU, Nintendo Land and Nano Assault Neo were running in 1080p, I'd believe you! I'm a stickler for image quality and those games look absolutely pristine to me! Screw 4K, we don't need it yet! -
New trailer! Raiden is a psychopath now who "gets off" on CUTTING GUYS TO SHREDS and being a "2 Percenter?" This is all kinds of dumb and stupid. LOVE IT! Also he now has a devil trigger style mode where normal attacks take off body parts!? Is it February yet?

Yes they did. They also played host to lots of different game events like Kojima's appearance in London. On the plus side, I guess it means that these companies will be forced into doing nationwide tours if they want people to try out their new products or for fans to meet their heroes!

Gonna have to go with the prevailing viewpoint on here. There's nothing really wrong with GM foods and that the people who campaign against them largely do so for a lack of understanding about how they work. Nature has been tampered with for so long that it barely resembles what it was originally anyway.

Bastards! Fuck you S-E! You can shove your iPhone up your arse!

If that's what he's on about, then that's a load of rubbish. Been using a 3DS since March 2011 and that's never once been a problem. Edit: So it's now officially a sequel? Cool!
-
Why would it be a mess? You'd just have the same touch screen controls as in Metroid Prime Hunters and Renegade Kid's own Dementium series for DS! Would work perfectly fine with the 3D!

They're not close to administration, they already HAVE entered administration. It will be announced officially tomorrow, but it's happening. This is a disaster for the high street presence of games, music and movies. With the sole exception of the rotting corpse of Game and the puny and shambolic selection of titles in supermarkets, online stores have pretty much fully taken over now. Console manufacturers and game publishers are now at the almighty mercy of Amazon. POS methods of marketing are now rendered useless (with instore console demos now being useless - No longer will people be able to experience a console for themselves before they buy it, without being lucky enough to know a friend who has one!) and the battle for shelf space (that would normally lend an air of legitimacy to a console) is rendered moot. I can't see any way that this will benefit anyone, especially with new consoles just launching. It's a disaster that will see the UK market shrivel up into the equivalent of a used toilet roll. Thank God that we share the same language as the US, or else we'd see a lot less games being released over here - cause we're becoming a completely irrelevant market!

Well with HMV officially entering administration, Game (in their post administration zombiefied form) is the single lone pan-UK games retailer chain on the highstreet now (aside from the supermarkets) Nintendo had better get that Wii U stock into those supermarket stores ASAP, because otherwise their highstreet presence is gonna become nearly non-existent! -
Of course they'd love it. It does a good job at making them think that they're good at playing games

Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess tour finally comes to the UK this May!

I doubt it. Don't think that they attended the US tour events. Probably just for the 25th anniversary special. -

This week's lot Meh. Tokyo Crash Mobs looks like a good laugh, but that's about it.
