General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
To be fair, that's not native 4K (each PS3 only renders GT5 at 1280 x 1080), so you'd still need more than 4x PS3s to pull it off at a real native 4K resolution. I don't expect any games to actually support 4K resolution (unless it's a 2D game, or a game with PS2 level visuals). Not only is it technically unfeasible, but also not financially sound as practically nobody will have a 4K set. In fact, I suspect that a large chunk (perhaps even the majority) of PS4 titles will actually be running in sub 1080p resolution. That being said, watch Sony tout their hardware as a 4K native monolith -
Despite the lacking story/characters/sidequests etc, it's still a really great game and well worth your time. It would be a crime to skip it!

UWii What?

Oh hey, does anyone know what's so special about the glowing Denpa Men? I caught some on my lunch break and I don't know what's so special about them. Are they stronger? Better abilities?
-
Yeah, it's a good game that, while not all that it could've been (in particular, the puzzles are far and few between and very simplistic in comparison to the old school titles, while the game becomes too combat heavy towards the end for my liking), it's still very much worth your time!
-
It's not the shooting that's the problem with a potential PS360 port, it's the real-time inventory. They're gonna have to dump the awesome touchscreen inventory interface (& really useful ever-present map) and graft on a horrible RE5 style control system for the map and inventory.

If I don't get a Booseum with a gallery of the dozens and dozens of different Boos and Ghost Houses/Mansions across the years, I will not be pleased! Also, we had better get Vaccum Boo (A Boo that turns into a Vaccum cleaner to suck up Luigi!), 3D Boo (A Red/Magenta Boo that is only visible in 3D and with one eye closed - swapping between left and right to confuse you!) and Retro Boos roaming around the mansion!

Good man! Knew you'd like it Too bad that the Konami of today have gone batshit insane and have forgotten that the series exists At least we still have the likes of Muscle March to keep the crazy alive (the fact that the game is pretty fun is nice too!) If you're after more Japanese nuttiness, look out for Tomena Sanner on Wii Ware, Cho Aniki on the Wii VC and Tokyo Crash Mobs on the 3DS eShop (coming out in the next month or so)

So I've beat the game! Aannndd, I'd say that it's the 3rd best game in the PM series (below TTYD and 64, but above SPM) I do like the battle system (remaining inventive and engaging all throughout, even without the exp points and levelling up - in fact, I don't lament the loss of the RPG elements at all!) and the puzzles are the best in the series (I love the near complete lack of handholding!). I think that the level based structure works well and the writing is as good as ever. But I do think the game suffers for its lack of story, non-Toad NPCs, partners and side quests. The core gameplay that's there is really good, but it feels a bit flat (HAW HAW HAW) without those extra bits on the side. There just aren't as many memorable characters and moments as the other games in the series and it never fully shakes off that feeling of loneliness from the lack of partners. I'm glad that they did something different with the gameplay (and it absolutely works, don't get me wrong!), but I think the decision to ditch all of the story/characters/sidequests/minigames etc was a mistake. Overall, the Mario RPG compendium goes in this order for me (from best to least best) 1: Paper Mario TTYD 2: Bowser's Inside Story 3: Paper Mario 4: Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga 5: Super Mario RPG 6: Paper Mario Sticker Star 7: Super Paper Mario 8: Mario & Luigi Partners in Time BTW, World 4-3 is the best level in the whole game. Bloody loved it!

Isn't is crazy to think that this will be the 3DS' first FPS game released? Probably its only one and all I bet...

Nyko Accessories - '360' Pro Controller and Triple Gamepad Battery
Dcubed replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, the Wii U arcade sticks are read by the Wii U as a Classic Controller, so the CC/CC Pro and all of your existing Wii arcade sticks will work with TTT2 (and presumably every future Wii U VC and Wii U fighting game) -
No. It's called Luigi's Mansion 2 in both Japan and Europe and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon in the US.
-
That happened to me on my old DSi. It's a right PITA

Agreed to all of the above. I HATE RE5's real-time inventory (and don't get me started on RE6's one!) and I don't expect to get anything I want Wii U is simply perfect for a HD port (and it would round out the early lineup nicely, sitting alongside MH3U), but I know it's not gonna happen. Oh well, I'll just stick with my 3DS original. It'll no doubt be a better gameplay experience than this PS360 port anyway I'm sure...
-
I'm not gonna play the demo until the game comes out anyway. Don't want to spoil my first experience of the game! (and it's not like I don't know if I want it :p )

Capcom's worst kept secret :p While I'm glad to see the game get a wider audience, I don't expect it to control very well on PS3 and 360 (it really relied heavily on the dual screens and touch controlled inventory) No Wii U version, no sale (it's the only other console that could properly replicate the controls)

The 360 and PS3 themselves are in heavy decline and they'll both want to get a headstart on one another. Regardless of what Nintendo have done, they'll both feel the need to get their consoles out soonish. The looming rise of smartphones and tablets will likely be nudging them in that direction too. I absolutely fully expect this. That way they can guarantee themselves a constant revenue stream, "cheat" to get the console price down and remove the split in their userbase between paying and non paying XBL subscribers. It's their dream scenario! They've got a huge audience who are hopelessly addicted to their XBL accounts and their gamerscore. You can bet your left nut that they'll milk them for all they're worth! -
I think they mentioned that we'll be getting "something". Whether that means we'll be getting the exact item they got or a slightly modified version of the same ones (ALA the western version of Tri), who knows?

It's at this point that you realise how just how much we're being treated like 2nd class citizens here (And how BLOODY AWESOME the eShop retail downloads are for importers! )

Oh yeah, the Pro model was hard to find at launch for sure. It was the Core model (AKA the "Tard pack") that was common as muck at launch. Same thing happened with the Wii U supposedly. Premium was sold out, while the Basic model was still on store shelves. -
