IT IS COMPLETE!!! FINALLY!!! Should be hitting this year after all (whodathunkit!?) Lets just hope it doesn't come out at the same time as Shovel Knight in Europe now...
-
Well this is different Dare I hope for some localisation announcements!? (Nah, probably not. This thing seems pretty low-key really) Will probably not stick around for the Smash 3DS footage though. As much as I loved the Treehouse Live events during E3, I don't fancy having the entire game spoilt for me :p
-
I'm getting it on day 1, but I get the feeling that I'm not gonna have time to play it anyway :p (I've already got more than enough on my plate right now, as you already know...)
-
Teslagrad will be mine
-
That was a close one! Your taste in games can be... questionable sometimes (After all, you did skip out on Earthbound while it was on sale and you did say that you liked Sonic 06...)
-
You must be joking, please tell me that you're joking... You're not, aren't you... This is one of the worst pinball games I've ever played! The physics are utterly horrific! And don't even get me started on the terrible table designs... To even dare call it better than the two Pokemon Pinball games (from YOU of all people!) is just...
-
Whelp! Looks like Super Mario Ball is our Wii U VC game this week... At least I don't need to worry about adding another game to my backlog! Cause this game is insultingly terrible... Hard to believe that it's made by the same guys who made Metroid Prime Pinball!
-
Not a chance. KIU had the AR Cards that added characters to its trophy room and they were all optional. Not to mention that there would only be Amiibos for the playable characters anyway...
-
The Gamepad PQ is pretty damn good though (although as you rightfully said though, red doesn't compress well, so yeah. Kirby's gonna have cute little fuzzy feet ) You'll be able to gawk at the TV from moment to moment though. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make use of the two asymmetric screens throughout as well (and the motion controls - The team at HAL really liked using it in Kirby Triple Deluxe, so I expect to see it used here somehow as well!)
-
Yup. There are also lots of other things you need to tap directly, like enemies (to stun them), blocks (to break them), switches (to activate them) etc. Yeah, this is one that you'll need to play on the Gamepad screen... (the TV view is really for passive watchers to enjoy).
-
Yeah, the TV and the Gamepad show the same thing in this game. Good luck trying to tap Kirby without looking directly at the Gamepad though! (Which you need to do in order to make Kirby dash/move)

It's more the principal than anything else really. I don't really use c-stick/shake smashes much myself, but I'm still annoyed at the idea of not being able to use them (or any other potential New3DS enhancements) until next year, while Japan gets them from day 1...

Next Level Games worked on a Metroid prototype before making LM2 instead!
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It reminds me quite a bit of Metroid Zero Mission's art style... I'd love to see a game that looks like Zero Mission in 3D! But then again, it IS just concept art, so the game wouldn't necessarily look like that... After all... DKCR didn't look like this... ... and Pokemon Black & White didn't look like that either. Absolutely! And given their stellar work on LM2, I reckon they could come up with some fantastic level and enemy designs too! (hell, those enemy designs that were leaked already look fantastic!) Much like how Metroid Prime hinted that Retro could do a great platformer, LM2 hints that NLG could do a great metroidvania style game! -
God it looks incredible! And incredibly fun too! I still can't believe that Canvas Curse is getting a sequel! and on a HD console to boot! It just feels crazy (...ily awesome) to me

http://www.destructoid.com/next-level-games-was-working-on-a-metroid-title-for-3ds-280783.phtml So it seems that NLG was at one point tinkering around with a Metroid related prototype! No doubt it's the one that the NLG guys were referring to in the Luigi's Mansion 2 Iwata Asks... Here's some concept art that came from this project (reminder, concept art is not necessarily indicative of the game's actual visual art style) I hope that they're revisiting it since they finished LM2. I'd love to see their take on the series and I reckon that they could do a great job with it! (LM2 proves that they can do good Metroidvania esc level design and of course, they have perhaps the best animators in the business - they could easily do justice to Samus' actions and make them feel satisfying) It would be a hell of a genre shift for them, but then again, so was LM2 and that turned out really well

Yup, agreed on all counts. It does really look like a port of a cancelled 3DS game, like it smacks so massively of it that it is not even subtle... (Which leads me to wonder why the hell it was cancelled for 3DS, cause it is so blatantly still running within the confines of its capabilities...) Not that I have any complaints about the visuals in that regard, because I still think that RE:Revelations looks stunning! Holds up remarkably well in HD! This setup also sounds extremely dumb, so by all accounts I approve
-
Not to excuse them here, but it's probably not supported because the IR port is going to be used by the NFC stand for Amiibo support and they probably felt that asking people to disconnect it every time they want to scan a figurine in with was too much of a hassle (or maybe there were re-connection issues, dunno ) It's still stupid to not at least provide it as an option for those who would be willing to put up with the hassle, but that's probably part of the reason why. See, that's how I thought it was gonna work myself. Seemed simple enough, just tell the game that the CPP is attached and map the buttons/2nd circle pad accordingly). The way they're doing it seems pretty stupid to me (it's extra work for them to treat it as a separate input method), but maybe they couldn't get it to work for some reason They totally will and you know it! They'll probably release a "Classic Character" DLC pack (no doubt the first of many DLC packs in the works) next year around the time when the New3DS comes out in the west (so March/April), with all of the Melee & Brawl characters that they couldn't get done in time for launch. All of them will be playable on the normal 3DS, except for Ice Climbers, which will be Wii U/New3DS only. It's either that or no Ice Climbers on the 3DS version at all...
-
Well this is interesting... http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=889895 Apparently, you can use the C Stick on the New3DS to perform Smash attacks, but the game does NOT support the Circle Pad Pro on the normal 3DS/3DSXL! So I guess that means that Smash 3DS is officially the first New3DS enhanced game (and I guess it also means that CPP compatible games can't use the enhanced control options with the New3DS' extra buttons & stick... Which is disappointing ) I wonder if there will be any other New3DS only enhancements... (Faster loading, 60FPS Assist Trophies, exclusive playable Ice Climbers...) Great. Now I'm even more annoyed that the New3DS isn't coming out here until next year
-
That's what the future DLC is for
-
Yeah, same here. Plus it comes with that ugly massive USK logo anyway :p Started doing it ever since the whole Pikmin 3 & Wonderful 101 fiasco. Been nabbing cheap digital copies of games along the way (people selling codes they get of games like Wind Waker HD for super cheap etc). Now I happen to have every one of my Wii U games in physical AND digital form, so it would just feel wrong if I didn't follow it up with this one! Plus it means that Glen-i can borrow my physical copy to play, while I play my digital one
-
Having finally seen the First Edition trailer thingy... Eh... I'll just stick with the normal Special Edition pack. The extras just don't seem worth it and the art book lacks any sort of interesting commentary. So Special Edition + eShop versions for me!
-
Sounds like the most likely scenario... Hopefully we'll get some indication of the eShop prices tomorrow as well...

Typical. Even with a direct, they still manage to make things vague and confusing A simply straightforward message is clearly too much to ask off of Nintendo
