  1. I have no idea. I've purposely avoided looking at any videos of them (Don't want EVERYTHING about the game spoilt for me now!) But they're not gonna have the same kind of rubber band physics applies to them here, that's the main issue with the 3DS version. It's a big ask to get the 3DS running 4 sets of Ice Climbers with those rubber band physics in 4 player (rendered twice each for S3D mind you! That's 16 Ice Climbers who could appear on screen at the same time! )
  2. Aye. Nice and early from them
  3. AAAANNNNDDD IT'S HERE! Not gonna get to play it till tomorrow, but still! Yay!
  4. Yup! Can't wait! Loved the first game to bits!
  5. It would screw up the cross compatibility thing they've got going, with customisable characters and Amiibo that can be levelled up across both games. If Ice Climbers had remained, someone else would've likely have gotten the boot (probably Duck Hunt).
  6. That IS a nice bonus! Looks great! Western release ASAP please!
  7. Well yeah, he said as much many months ago, so what's the surprise here? Ice Climbers getting cut would've made room for them to work on someone else. Everybody pissing and crying over the loss of Ice Climbers doesn't realise that the time saved on including them meant that they could add other content into the game instead. Why spend so much time on a character that you can't get working on 3DS in the way that you want instead of just working on something else? There's a good chance that Duck Hunt was included because of the time they saved in working on Ice Climbers for instance...
  8. Bit of an odd choice for your first screenshot really. Why debut with a wide angle shot of the environment that you're not gonna really see while racing? Show the actual gameplay angle! Show the zooming cars! The track gimmicks/obsticles! The loop de loops! Who cares about a bunch of brown rocks that you're not gonna see when you're wizzing by at 1000 Kph?
  9. If you let the attract video loop a few times, you'll get to see a glimpse of some of the stages that aren't playable in the demo too
  10. Nope! Sticking to my guns until the bitter end!! No matter how moronic it may look It's more likely to be the date when they announce the release date than the actual release date :p
  11. I wouldn't take it as a sign of anything myself. Every single Smash game has always come out in Japan before everywhere else after all.
  12. He posts mainly using his phone and he comes round mine to play MK8
  13. You don't seem to get it... EA were previously under contractual obligation to release Fifa games for ALL consoles, regardless of sales. It was a condition of them holding the Fifa license. It was only recently that they renewed the license and the licensing terms were changed. That's the point I was making. The same thing could happen with Unity (and Nintendo's license with Unity) if they were to be bought out by someone like Microsoft...
  14. Probably. And then he'll start doing pic of the days about the Wii U specific content. I'd bet on a Smash direct (complete with release date for the Wii U game, assuming that it's still coming out this year - cause at that point, it's now or never) shortly after the international release of the 3DS game. So very likely early/mid October
  15. So it looks like Shovel Knight will be safe in Europe when it comes out at least Hope Pirate's Curse still makes it for 2014 over here though...
  16. Depends on whether or not old agreements like that would still apply under a change in ownership. It might require a contract renewal... That's how EA managed to screw Nintendo out of getting Fifa games on Wii U. Until recently, EA were contractually obliged by their licenser (Fifa) to develop football games for all platforms - which is why they continued to make games for the Wii up until the very end. But a couple of years ago, their contract had to be renewed and the contractual agreement conveniently changed just enough for them to only have to develop games for "relevant" platforms... ... Just in time for them to be able to screw Nintendo out of any future Fifa games...
  17. In semi related news... http://venturebeat.com/2014/09/10/unity-technologies-weighs-its-options-including-a-possible-sale-of-the-company-for-2b/ Unity are considering selling themselves... This could be... problematic for Nintendo if Unity get bought out by someone like Microsoft, considering that at least 70% of the upcoming eShop games on the Wii U are running on that engine...
  18. Expected, but I still think it'll happen eventually. If not in time for the western 3DS release, then about 6-9 months afterwards. It can't go anywhere else other than Wii U and still be cross compatible. And HD console versions of the past two handheld MH games came around 6-9 months after their respective handheld launches in Japan...
  19. I hear that it's some sort of national holiday in Japan, so probably not...
  20. Well there's a reason for that... ... and that's because it's made by the same people who made the first Devil May Cry game! Easiest way to describe the gameplay is that it's like what would happen if Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe had a baby. The first game is an absolute masterpiece and the sequel looks like it might be even better. If you absolutely can't get this AND Hyrule Warriors, then picking Bayo 1&2 over HW is an absolute no brainer (and I say that as a massive Zelda fan!)
  21. Nothing really worth mentioning outside of Life Force this week, outside of some nice sales
  22. Oh! This is the first time that this has ever been released commercially! Before you could only get it in Europe by getting it for free with a Red Wii or in the US via a promotion they did with NSMB2.
  23. Life Force this week Another one that never came to the Wii VC in Europe!
  24. Yeah, that jives with what I was guessing Let's just hope that they don't fail cert! I don't really want to see it come out at around the same time as Shantae & The Pirate's Curse!
  25. Both are looking to achieve different things. I've yet to play DKCTF (that's not happening until November for me), but Kirby is a wonderfully joyful, light and breezy game while DKCR & DKCTF are tough as nails, balls to the walls, thrill rides of a platformer. I'd go for the one that fits your mood right now. Do you want to play something light and breezy or something that'll test your mettle? (Of course, you have to get both eventually though )
