Just saw that they uploaded some videos of Xenoblade Wii up on the eShop. First time they've ever released trailers alongside the digital release of a Wii game (and they're not old trailers either, they actually bothered to capture/edit new footage of the Wii version of the game) Nice to see NOE put the effort in You can tell that they're really gonna be pushing Xenoblade X hard as the big Xmas game for Wii U (especially since Zelda is gone now) I agree. Most RPGs are far too long for their own good, artificially stretched out with tons of padding... Xenoblade is an extremely rare exception though where I really can't say it's too long at all. 70-80 hours long without sidequests and no padding at all! Incredible! But yeah, I wish that there were more RPGs around the length of Chrono Trigger or Mario RPG.

Absolute nonsense! You're denying yourself what is possibly the greatest RPG ever made for absolutely no good reason! Who cares if it looks a little jagged in places? It's an incredible game unlike any other!
-
Nice to see that they got Retro's input when it came to the Federation mech designs Surprising that Tanabe doesn't seem to be involved with Retro's current project though... (another EAD collab perhaps then?)

Yup it's true. Keeping banter going on your own is really tough! It doesn't come naturally at all, so you have no choice but to play up to the "camera" to keep things interesting. I don't really watch many Lets Plays myself. Mainly just the Grumps; they're usually a good laugh. But I do have respect for anyone who can keep an audience engaged, especially on your own; it's tough to pull off well! (and on a regular basis, I can see it very quickly turning into serious work; not nearly as fun as it seems at first glance)

Yeah, just read it. Didn't expect them to do anything special for Gamescom at all!

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (30th Oct)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Taking the Working Designs approach with this one? Interesting... Guess they mustn't have much faith in it at retail so they might as well grab as much as they can from the small audience interested in the game... The eShop approach however is very interesting. Like the old days of Shareware! -
Huh!? That's random as hell! Why no announcement? Surprised that they released it so soon after Xenoblade 3D too, considering how much cheaper it is. Well! I know what I'm buying! Off TV Xenoblade, come to papa!

God I love Advance Wars 2 something FIERCE!! It's my favourite in the series. Fixes the balance issues with the first game (no more hilariously overpowered Max!), adds tons of new content and features without becoming ridiculously overwhelming like its DS successor and has the most finely tuned campaigns of the series! Probably my most absolute number 1 played GBA game. Only AW1 came close!

TBH, I think it's more a matter of Rare Replay being disgustingly undervalued. £20 for 30 games is literally insane! Hilariously enough, yup. There are currently 5 N64 games available for the Wii U VC in Europe.

I'm impressed at how they're still pushing that angle pretty hard. I've ended up going for an Alienware Alpha instead of an Xbone though, so now I'm sort of just pinning my hopes on MS wanting to port most of their 1st party titles to PC lol! Rare Replay is seriously, seriously tempting me though...

Scalebound looks less action heavy than I was expecting... Not necessarily a bad thing mind you, just surprised at how much it seems to resemble Dragon's Dogma and Xenoblade. The Dragon AI helper mechanic looks really really cool though! I can forsee some really unique and crazy gameplay coming out of that! Like fighting on a giant scale and a small scale at the same time!

Good week. Been itching to play Jungle Climber after being so pleasantly surprised by King of Swing! Makes you wonder why they decided to release nothing last week instead of having one game last week and one this week?

Realistic Escape Game x Nintendo 3DS - Escape the Destruction
Dcubed replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! (Hurls 3DS at nearest immigrant after reading the accompanying Daily Mail headline about this game) -
I quite like it myself, it's much more neatly organised now and people who need help can get it more easily now, without being buried under a sea of picture posts
-
Without the Gamepad, it's literally only half a game. It's a bit sad that many people will only end up playing a truncated version of the experience
-
Yeah I got it too. Seems that MCV were making some assumptions there... Still, good news nonetheless!
-
Well that was random! S-E actually taking care of a localisation of a 3DS game without having to have Nintendo do it for them!? wow! Maybe they've finally pulled their finger out? Hope this means that we're also getting that awesome looking 3DS remake of FF1 (that came free with the Japanese release of Explorers) as well!
-
Funny you should say that, cause I reckon that Super Smash Bros For NX will be one of the launch titles :p (Includes all of the content from both the 3DS and the Wii U games, along with new modes, new gameplay mechanics, new items and new exclusive stages and characters such as Ice Climbers ) Hell they're probably working on it as we speak (In fact, the Smash Ballot might actually be for characters who will appear in the NX version and not the current ones )

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1086960 Team 17 (Worms) are publishing the game and are giving it a retail release!
-
If you wanted to watch it live without Flash, I'm pretty sure that they offer a HTML5 stream as well on Twitch... Alternatively, there is this piece of software that someone made called livestreamer that takes the Twitch stream and pipes it straight into a video player such as VLC!
-
Probably real. Sakurai did say before that they planned for a Dr Mario stage but it had to be cut due to lack of time. I always thought that it would end up being one of the eventual DLC stages I take it that it'll be like the Duck Hunt stage, except that Dr Mario plays in the background instead (and capsules fall down on top of you, with the same game rules as the original NES game)
-
Course you can taste them... Look at his eye! It's practically ready to pop out from all the crying he's been doing!
-
If Ridley ends up being a costume, I'll know that you're right on this one
-
Hey! Chrom finally got his wish to get into Smash!

Funnily enough, that's still the approach that I reckon they'll take with the NX. I can't see them chucking away all of their past work; especially after Iwata mentioned that they want the NX to absorb the Wii U architecture. Everything they've been doing with the VC also hints at that as well. If most multiplatform engines get ported to it though, that won't really matter much to 3rd party developers. As long as it works, it works :p
