I posted an article on the main site Short and sweet. Would post more, but I have to dash off to work, so don't gots time. Can't believe that the likes of IGN and Eurogamer have yet to even mention it on their sites! Sure, they're a rival but come on! Show a little respect at least!

Holy Crap!!! Those guys were massive!! So sudden! I can't believe it! I used to love their retrospectives!!! Man, I remember them when they first started out even. Nobody else offered anything remotely as professional as what they did... Gonna miss them something fierce
-
Ahem... Speaking a little soon there me thinks...
-
Oh yeah! I remember those things... It was basically a SNES with a Super Game Boy stuffed inside a cabinet, but I always loved how it looked like one of the machines you'd actually see in the games themselves! It's not quite the same these days, but it's pretty cool that they'll be doing Mew distribution for RBY VC anyway (and even via old school methods too! )

WOO! Do want! Miiverse is gonna be great for this game! (Also will allow for easy online rescues as well thanks to the screenshots )

You may not have evidence... but I do http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/06/rumour_best_buy_beginning_return_of_wii_u_basic_models_before_e3 The launch Basic models got recalled and later repackaged into later bundles (Wii Party U's console bundle featured these re-packaged Basic model consoles, as did Wii Sports Club's one IIRC) Interesting idea to have the other models come out later on though... Taking a cue from their handhelds I see... Hmm... I wonder if they might be better off having an expensive model at launch and then release one with less storage for a cheaper price later on. After all, the first rush of people would be more likely to pay for the more expensive model, as the Wii U situation proved

They're still there. If you go to a game's community, there's a section for viewing all posts pre-redesign. You should be able to view your posts if you check you post history as well.

I would expect that this would be around the time when they start sending out the second (or maybe even third) wave of NX dev kits to 3rd parties. The bigger partners (Namco, S-E etc) probably got the first version of the dev kits last year around July/August ish I would imagine). This version coming out now is probably more reflective of the final hardware. So that revelation isn't particularly surprising. Nice to hear though

Pokemon Red, Blue & Yellow (3DS Virtual Console)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
There's the full version of that new piece of artwork that was teased On a related and yet strangely unrelated note, Goodsmile just announced a ton of new Figma/Nendoroid figures based on Pokemon and other Nintendo franchises! -
Yup. That's exactly it. DS, 3DS, Wii. They all got the same treatment when they were initially unveiled (and the two handhelds were even pre-announced in March, then given full reveals at E3 and I suspect that the same will be true once again for the NX Handheld this year)
-
We'll probably get a name, basic details (i.e, it's a handheld that plays games) and maybe some small hints at its new gimmicks (when DS was pre-announced, they mentioned that it had two screens and when 3DS was pre-announced they mentioned its S3D display; so I'd expect something similar) As for specs? I seriously doubt that they'll ever release them publicly again. They don't do spec chest thumping and haven't ever released a full spec sheet since the GCN (where their honest "conservative" assessment compared poorly to the dishonest "theoretical" lists from their competitors). It's just not their style and really, the audience doesn't care all that much about the nitty gritty. You'll get basic details (i.e, it has an SD Card slot, X amount of storage etc) and that's about it. One thing that will be interesting to see though is whether or not they decide to try multiple models of the console again. The Basic model Wii U was a tremendous failure (even in comparison to the 32GB Wii U), but they've gone model crazy with 3DS, with no less than 5 different variations of the thing now! Will they try out different storage sized consoles again? Will they even try out different specced consoles? (think iPhone and how they have different models on the market at the same time with variable specs, but they run the same apps).
-
That's what I've been saying for a while now and it's pretty normal for Nintendo really. Preliminary details on the NX handheld in March, full reveal at E3.
-
Same as Wind Waker HD. Edit: Actually, apparently they've touched up the environment geometry in places and upped the polygon count there as well. Wind Waker HD didn't get that treatment, so it's even better! Tantalus did a good job! Hope that they and Nintendo have a good, long term relationship from here on out Just wish that it also had the option for Wiimote/chuck controls... Fishing just won't be the same without them
-
The only reason why they have right handed link at all is because they're mirroring the whole game. Mirroring just Link on his own brings about all sorts of potential animation issues and potential glitches, where as mirroring the whole game breaks nothing and is dead easy to do (as simple as an on/off toggle) And part of Hero Mode's shtick is the mirroring of the game, so making it an ingame toggle that is doable outside of Hero Mode kind of takes away part of the point of it.

Finally! The time has come! Everything is fixed and it is now time to finally begin Bayonetta 2! At long last! Wish me luck!

Pokemon Red, Blue & Yellow (3DS Virtual Console)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's cool that they're making other ones based off of the original RBY artwork instead of FR/LG, but for some reason, I'm not really as keen on them as the other Red Nendoroid... Supposedly there's a lot more Pokemon figures coming this year as well. Also supposedly they're making some new artwork for RBY! Here's a tease of the first one... -
I'll take all of the above plus Fire Emblem 1-6 (+ 12) I don't demand much :p
-
Yeah, it's a more recent phenomenon. DS is pretty much as bad as GBA now it seems... NES has a fair few repro carts on there as well, but not as much as SNES... meanwhile N64 has absolutely nothing. Strange really (prohibitive cost? lack of demand?)
-
Not even DS is safe anymore! Most carts on eBay seem to be pirate carts now; good thing we finally have the DS VC! N64 still seems to be safe though. I wonder why repro N64 carts never really took off...
-
When it comes to cartridge based games, I usually don't bother trying to get boxed/complete copies, but when it comes to disc based games I always do. Having a disc game without the original box/manual/inserts feels so wrong, but with cart games it doesn't bother me. Does that make me weird?

Shame really, there's a lot of great exclusives that are PC only (and many of them are actually designed for a controller/comfy couch even!) Lethal League, Speedrunners, Half Minute Hero 2 (English), Undertale (well... for now...), Mushihimesama (English), One Finger Death Punch etc... Pretty crazy that none of those are on consoles, but there ya go! :p
-
On a somewhat related topic, I wonder how many people have actually abandoned non-Nintendo consoles in favour of PC only, like I have... Cause really, there's practically nothing that non-Nintendo consoles provide that PCs don't anymore for me (I don't care for Destiny or most of Sony's 1st Party titles and a large chunk of MS' ones are coming, or have already come, to PC as well)
-
MUCH more streamlined than Earthbound! Pretty standard stuff. In its current state... Edit: Actually scratch that, I'm gonna PM Ike instead. Don't want to possibly be responsible for ruining Undertale for someone who is irresponsible enough to click that spoiler tag :p
-
Sincw you don't like Earthbound, I'd probably guess not as it is very clearly inspired by it (the creator, Toby Fox actually got his start with a fan hack of Earthbound called Radiation's Halloween hack and Undertale takes more than a few ideas from it). Mind you though, you might like the battle system; it's very unique actually! Taking after a Cave style bullet hell shooter!

He just made another set of statements last night... http://www.gonintendo.com/stories/251476-undertale-creator-officially-considering-port-to-nintendo-platfor Looks like it's likely to happen now! Let's just hope that Broken Rules get there before Nicalis
