Not to mention that this also has the Japanese and promo exclusive levels as well!

Sega Saturn Appreciation Thread

You're alone on that one mate. Those things are the spawn of Satan himself! Just look at them funny and bam! Cracked. Best thing about Gen 6 was the universal switch to DVD style cases for everyone (OK, all except SEGA with the Dreamcast - though even they ended up switching to DVD style cases in Japan towards the end of its life. Cosmic Smash's case is a thing of beauty ) -
Nice! Wonder if we'll get the Club Nintendo Picross game here in the west as well now?
-
Yeah, I hope so too... Luigi's Mansion 2 did; which was very impressive considering how fully featured its multiplayer mode was, but I get the feeling that they won't be able to do it this time...

Speaking of this Direct... SURPRISE!
-
Game runs like poo when 3D is turned on on the New3DS. With 3D turned off, it runs just fine. It's a shame, 'cause the 3D effect is pretty decent here. But I suppose it was just too much of an ask of even the New3DS for solid performance with 3D turned on. Still an incredibly impressive port though! Really quite something to see a port of a Wii U title running so well on a handheld! It's far closer to the Wii U game than it has any right to be! (well... unless you play it on a regular 3DS that is )

NEShow Special Episode 2 - Zelda | Zelda | Zelda
Dcubed replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
SURPRISE!!!! Enjoy this special Nintendo Direct episode! On the house! : peace: -
It only takes one day for that to develop...
-
Week 7 is up! (Got it up earlier than I was expecting @RedShell ) This one is a little bit special, considering last night's theme. I think you'll all agree that wasn't your usual night and so, this is not your usual MK Highlight video! Enjoy! : peace:

Oh wow! It IS actually called Nintendo Land? I was only joking about that! This music had better be playing everywhere in the park!
-
You have to look back and forth between both... like a real pilot!
-
Yeah, it's a real shame that the likes of this, Mario Maker and Splatoon have come out so late. It was a big mistake to prioritise the safe sequels like DKCTF and NSMBU. A huge mistake that utterly destroyed the console's chances of success. But at least we're finally getting them. Bit late, but we're getting there

I don't think that most of you realise what you can really do with this thing in this game... Being able to aim independently from your movement and even the TV screen is HUGE! You can literally have enemies come from behind you and attack you and you have to physically turn around to attack them! It works like a viewfinder in VR; giving you 360 degrees turning and 6DOF movement. Enemies can now be more aggressive and attack in ways that they never could've before; from all angles (and going by what Gamexplain said about the game, the developers do indeed take advantage of this). Having the gyro controls/dual screen stuff be an option would require them to completely redesign the game from scratch to be based around the lowest common denominator. It champions the Gamepad like Skyward Sword did for Motionplus and so, HAS to be designed without the option to turn them off. You all wanted Nintendo to make a game that was built entirely around what only the Gamepad could do? Well here it is! You can't have that AND have there be an option to ignore everything the Gamepad does; you're basically asking for a completely different game.
-
Federation Force has an option for twin-stick controls...
-
You would be very wrong... Not only does it allow for much faster and more accurate controls (see the difference between Metroid Prime 3 and 1/2 or Sin & Punishment 2 vs 1 for what that means for level/enemy design), but it also allows you to aim off screen (including behind you; which is required in some parts of the game according to Gamexplain). The two screens are used all throughout as you have to keep track of both at the same time as well; so you have to have aiming independent of movement. Something you can't really do with twin sticks accurately enough (plus you wouldn't be able to brake/speed up/somersault etc because the right stick is used for those actions and if they moved those to the buttons, you wouldn't be able to aim with the right stick while doing any manoeuvres at all anyway). The game is completely designed around them, just like Skyward Sword, or Kid Icarus Uprising (for its touch controls). It would not work at all without them (which is why the only support the Pro Controller gets is in co-op; where one player still has to use the Gamepad anyway).

I can't believe I never noticed that!! WTF!? That's crazy! I don't expect that until the NX console/handheld, because with those machines they'll be able to have games run at both with no extra development cost. With Wii U and 3DS, they have to develop them separately (thus significant dev cost) whereas with NX, they'd just work on both by default with no extra effort since they share the same hardware architecture.

I am going to spend a disgusting amount of money on those Kirby Amiibos! No regrets!!

Starfox Guard is a seperate game. There's a bundle where you can buy both together, but it is its own standalone eShop title. #FE is kind of getting the cold shoulder though, with its extremely cheap No Dub treatment. I get that it Super Bombed in Japan (sold less than Bayo 2), but still... Pikmin 4 has indeed been officially announced by Miyamoto himself. He said it was "close to completion".
-
Trailer looks like the real deal. I can't believe that I'm finally getting a true Starfox 64 sequel! After almost 20 years! Of course not! It's a fundamental part of the game! Just like the dual screen gameplay. If you want to play without motion controls, you play in co-op. Speaking of co-op... I noticed that the game keeps track of your scores individually... I sense some Four Swords/SM3DW style shenanigans here

Wii U lineup... March: Twilight Princess HD, Pokken April: Lost Reavers, Starfox Zero, Starfox Guard May: June: #FE, Mario & Sonic: Rio Scattered throughout: Splatoon & Mario Maker DLC, plenty of eShop titles (including Super Meat Boy Wii U) Doesn't seem like a bad Spring lineup to me Then after that we have Paper Mario Colour Splash, Zelda Wii U and Pikmin 4, at the very least, this year!
-
I wonder if it will be filled with Splatoon references...
-
Paper Mario looks boss! The visuals look INSANE! And the gameplay following in Sticker Star's footsteps is A-OK by me! Starfox Guard looks legit as well! (100 levels! Online level sharing!) and SF Zero looks like the SF64 sequel I've always wanted (and what a surprise, the rumours were bunk ) Hashtag FE lacking a dub is pure crap though. They're being cheap and they don't deserve praise for it (understandably so, considering the Japanese sales, but it's still crap). Coming out a LOT sooner than I expected though! Speaking of which, glad to see FE Fates getting a good release slot and not being confined to the prison that is August. Also, KIRBY!! RHYTHM PARADISE MEGAMIX!!! WOO!!! Solid direct, even if most of it had leaked. This man speaks the truth! Turn on the Original Resolution option and I will personally shoot my fist through your 3DS screen and have it come out at your face in threeeedeeeeeee if you do!!!
