  1. How the hell did this thread reach 6 pages already!? This has to be a record surely!?
  2. Agreed. The offers aren't bad, but they're largely irrelevant for me; at least most of the current ones are (the only one that's currently of any use to me is the Metroid Other M discount). The good thing about the Nintendo Network Premium programme was that the £5 discount could just be applied to anything, since it was just eShop credit. So you could just feel free to spend and you'd know that anything you get out of it would always be useful. Here it's only useful at specific times. It's pretty ironic that the offers are billed as "Just For You", when it's actually anything but Rightfully, the list of discounts should be based on the games you actually already own. Why not have a list of offers on the server side, then have the My Nintendo site checklist them against the games you actually already own; ignoring the games that you already have and instead just presenting offers for 1st party games you don't already have? (and if you're a good little Nintendroid and you have them all? Just offer a £5 eShop code!)
  3. TOO BAD! DCUBED TIME!! I'm IN!
  4. The controls make perfect sense to me. I bet that most people wont give it a chance though... In fact, I bet that the game will be fantastic and amazing and the controls will offer a whole new level of gameplay depth (and yes, accuracy) that you could never do with old school controls, but most people online and in the media are so stuck in their ways that they wont accept it :p Kid Icarus Uprising all over again.
  5. That's really it. The NSMB games look bland because they're laser focused on playfield visibility, near enough to a fault. That being said, I'd LOVE to see a 2D hand drawn Mario game done in the same style as Wario Land SD! (only in... HD!). Come on Retro! Hop to it! It's just a shame that the level design is so achingly dull in WLSD. Kirby's Epic Yarn and Yoshi's WW were MASSIVE improvements over Wario though! It's like the guys at Good Feel were still shaking off the rust that developed from spending years at Konami twiddling their thumbs (if you didn't know... Good Feel are made up of ex Konami staff; in particular, most of them had previously worked on the Goemon series).
  6. Not a clue. Some of the offers finish in May, so I assume that's when they're gonna swap out, but who knows whether or not something could get added before then Coins do indeed expire after 6 months, but I'm sure there will be plenty of new things to choose from before then.
  7. Production IG spared no expense in putting those frames where it counted
  8. Cracking write ups @Glen\-i! : peace: God MP3 did have some AMAZING bosses! That Ridley fight was (and still is) incredible! Gandrayda is another really fantastic one! Really puts your pointer skills to the test as well!
  9. Wasn't the biggest fan of this one, but I might pick it up on discount at some point.
  10. No doubt these My Nintendo missions will have a big role to play on NX. I would be shocked if they didn't integrate them into their own games like they have with Miitomo (complete world 1 in Mario NX? Get 100 Platinum Points!) There will obviously be other opportunities to earn points down the line. Might even come to Wii U and 3DS before then, like the Miiverse stamps did.
  11. I wouldn't recommend Bonus 2 for speed running... Personally I'd recommend any level from World 2-4 (we already did speedruns of World 1). They're all designed specifically for speedrunning (World 4-3 is a particularly clever one )
  12. Just tried out a HTC Vive... Really impressive stuff, big improvement over earlier versions of the Oculus Rift that I tried out. I wouldn't say that it feels real, still feels like you're looking through a viewfinder (which I suppose is pretty much exactly what you're doing here), but it is cool and the way that it sets movement boundaries is really impressive. You can walk and move around as you'd expect to be able to and it feels like you're moving correctly to room scale. It's still blurry though and you can still see a bit of the screen door effect, but it is a big improvement over the DK1 and DK2. What is REALLY impressive though are the controllers. They're amazing! Despite being really annoying and impractical to set up, they're incredible! They're pretty much motion controls perfected (outside of having no recoil, which is impossible, or a speaker for simulating sounds). I was able to reach out and grab them with the helmet on and was able to juggle with them; that's pretty much says it all. While their gameplay possibilities are limited by virtue of the lack of buttons and analog sticks, there's some really cool interface possibilities with them; the Tilt Brush demo was a particularly good example of what you could do with them. I bet you could make some beautiful light shows with it! Not being able to see your own body is really jarring though; just goes to show how important the controllers are to the VR experience I suppose. Though that being said, it does present a problem with them... You can't see where your hands are on the controller and as such, it's easy to lose track of where your thumbs are on the touchpad - there are some haptics to help with using them, but I kept finding myself losing "sight" of them. It's an issue, as is the fact that you can just "walk" through objects that you would think that you can't (but of course I'm asking for the impossible there). Lighthouse is a huge step forward in motion tracking tech, if only it could apply to your body... But then you'd still be walking through objects, you still wouldn't be able to sense the environment around you (touch, taste, smell etc), a true Star Trek style VR experience is obviously still very much sci-fi. The uncanny valley effect applies not only to visual fidelity, but also the VR experience... Long story short, can I have Wii Remotes and a Gamepad with that Lighthouse motion controller tech please?
  13. Same. The idea of mixing in live action to make it like a TV drama is really cool, but if the gameplay itself is dull, then it's a bit of a waste really. Still, I might pick it up in some distant Steam sale down the line, just to see what could be some day...
  14. You have to make sure that sharing AND copying is turned on in Mii Maker. Very easy to forget, I made the same mistake originally.
  15. And Week 11 is up! Nice to see that @RedShell did mine and @nekunando's failures justice
  16. You have to buy them using Gold Points. You earn those after making purchases in Nintendo eShop. They'll probably give out some on special occasions via email as well I'd imagine.
  17. Without Miitomo, it's nearly impossible to get it currently. You have to use Platinum Points to get it (not Gold ones). You earn Platinum Points for linking your My Nintendo account to Facebook/Twitter/NNID, for doing stuff in Miitomo and you get a weekly bonus of 30 Platinum Points for logging into the eShop/Miiverse at least once per week. You get Gold Points for buying from the eShop and you can currently use those to buy eShop games/discounts, while Platinum Points are earned through other means (mainly Miitomo right now).
  18. Finally got it! Now my My Nintendo account feels so poor... I like how it gives you a download code before you are given the option to automatically redeem it and automatically download it onto your 3DS. Means that you can choose to give it away or use it on a different console if you so choose Oh 'ey! They actually composed new music for this game! I was expecting them to just reuse music from TP, but they actually composed all new arrangements for TP Picross. Nice!
  19. Wow! That went FAST! I literally got the very last one!
  20. I'm not the only one who gets an exorbitant amount of pleasure from clicking my Mii's icon over and over again to hear that stupid sound am I?
  21. My God! On my iPhone 6, this actually drains the battery faster than it charges! I had it plugged in while playing Miitomo and I actually LOST battery power! It's mental! Phones make for terrible game playing devices Good thing that Miitomo is good fun though!
  22. How did you get enough already!? I'm still 20 coins off and I've done absolutely everything possible so far!
  23. Oh I see... You'd hope that they'd update the store to support the new feature...
  24. OH MY GOD!!! AT LAST!!! I've been waiting for a discount on the Awakening DLC for SO LONG!!!
  25. ??? The automatic download feature is indeed there when you purchase things off of Nintendo.co.uk, used it with Flipnote 3D. Worked perfectly - 3DS automagically did it by itself. Not sure what you're looking to have confirmed here Edit: BTW, something that will be sure to please a fair few of you... DOWNLOAD CODES DO COUNT FOR GOLD POINTS!!! Yup! Just like with the Nintendo Network Premium programme, you DO get Gold Points when you redeem a download code (just tried it now - got the requisite amount of points), so you don't have to purchase directly off of the eShop for the purchase to count on My Nintendo. So you can buy discounted download codes from GAME and you'll get the full amount of Gold Points (buying Pokken Tournament for £39.99 from GAME will get you £49.99's worth of Gold Points for example)
