  1. Ha ha! That's a good idea for a challenge! Might have to try that myself at some point before the game's launch!
  2. I'd rather have NSMBWii over NSMBU. Wii is easily the best 2D Mario ever made, no contest. The levels were personally designed by both Miyamoto and Tezuka and it really really shows!
  3. Makes sense when you consider that the series is much more popular now compared to the past, thanks to Monster Hunter World. They're all getting a rude awakening with this demo though
  4. This is gonna sell like mad. Crazy to see actual support from Blizzard on a Nintendo console!
  5. I missed Monster Hunter! So good to finally have it on Switch!
  6. I just got World myself (when it came out on Steam a week or so ago) and I had no trouble adjusting really. If anything, the simpler and more recognisable environments were refreshing!
  7. Had a very quick go, it’s basically the same as the Japanese demo (including the ugly pixilated HUD sadly), with added online multi and some extra arrows added for dumb dumbs who can’t find the monster they’re after. Looks like butt, plays great! Will be up for playing online alongside Glen-i later on today!
  8. Bloody fantastic news!! Love Timesplitters and THQ Nordic is the best possible home it could have right now! A remaster of the original trilogy is all but assured now! Timesplitters 4 is even on the cards now! Woohoo!
  9. This is true! When I was in Japan I was absolutely floored at how cheap retro games were and just how good nick they were all in! The Japanese really take good care of their games! It's no wonder why the used games market is so massive over there! Everything is pristine!
  10. Good point about the past experience @RedShell, didn’t really think of it like that. True, I would get through it much more quickly than most because I’m familiar with most of the microgames. As for how much I’ve played? Well it’s hard to say becaus Glen-i has been playing my copy as well, so the Activity Log results are skewed, but I’d guess that I’ve been playing it for around 5-6 hours total? I’ll no doubt be playing it on and off for years to come though, just like the other games in the series! It’s the perfect pick up and play game after all! BTW, on the matter of familiarity, I do like how they’ve changed a lot of the past microgames to mess with your memories of them! There’s quite a few microgames from the first game that are now twist or touch controlled and it always throws me off and leaves me with a good chuckle; they knew what they were doing (the 3DS stylus microgame is another good one that messes with your head, very clever; they KNOW how annoying it is that Nintendo keep moving the stylus location on each 3DS model, I can’t believe they managed to turn that annoyance into a microgame! Brilliant! )
  11. So I finally got the game and have been playing this little gem over the weekend... it's pretty damn good! Is it me though, or is it REALLY short? Feels like I've unlocked almost everything already... Seen the credits, got all the Challenges unlocked, most of the microgames unlocked and a couple of minigames (Minigolf, Foiled) unlocked, but I'm a bit disappointed to see a distinct lack of useless toys to unlock like in Twisted and Touched... I hope that there's a lot more surprises yet to come... (Sew Hard? PLEASE!!) Seems like Rhythm Heaven Megamix was a lot meatier than this one...
  12. I know I'm late on this, but I am SO IN! for this! Bloody fantastic to see the Switch version launch day and date with the other versions! Really looking forward to this one!
  13. I'm getting FF3 DS vibes from the True Final Boss here... Oh God, I can't forget the sheer rage I felt when I kept dying on that boss, where there was an entire final dungeon to get through, with 4 boss battles and absolutely ZERO save points all throughout! You could easily lose 3 or so hours of progress each time you tried! (And it was insanely hard to boot!)
  14. Yup. That one should be fine.
  15. Maybe that’s why they worked on it? Maybe they went to work on it after their main project was cancelled?
  16. The weird thing is that Shinya Takahashi just recently hinted at a possible revival of WaveRace on Switch; so I thought, "Great! That must be the Nintendo Motorsports thingy I heard about some time back!"; but then E3 came and went with nothing. So if anything, I would've thought that SFGP was the cancelled game and Nintendo Motorsports was the one that was due to come out soon, but... nothing. Maybe both got cancelled? I mean, NST was supposedly the lead studio on NM (with Retro assisting supposedly), and we know that NST has been very troubled in recent times ever since the Project HAMMER disaster, so... ???
  17. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that one or more of their projects got cancelled at some point and that the DKCTF port came about when their staff were left waiting around for pre-production to finish on something else that's still upcoming. That's the only explanation I can think of anyway. Their next project was due years ago.
  18. I probably shouldn't really be mentioning it, but whatever. I don't know what's going on with Retro anymore anyway. I was expecting them to show something both this year and last year, but they've been MIA outside of the DKCTF port, so I dunno For all I know, all the rumours are wrong and Nintendo are busy working on a SM3DW port for Switch. Here's hoping anyway!
  19. The rumour was that it was gonna be hitting this year (and that it might actually be a best-of collection from the whole series in the NSMBU engine), that's what I've been hearing for a long time (alongside a Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remaster aiming for February); but both are MIA, so... who knows? Also heard about Retro working on a game (alongside NST) called Nintendo Motorsports; which was supposed to be a new WaveRace, 1080 and Excitebike game all in one, but that has yet to materialise, so godonlyknows what's going on there
  20. I'd be shocked if they don't TBH. Half the work is already done since they've already ported Captain Toad (which runs on the same engine) and the game is an absolute perfect fit for the Switch's local multiplayer shared joy-con philosophy. It's also by far, the worst selling Mario game of all time and I'm sure that Nintendo would love to get back some of the money they poured into its production on Wii U (it would absolutely sell gangbusters on Switch, especially if they add new levels into the mix!). It would also lose nothing in the transition to the console either, since they already have a solution for the Gamepad specific stuff ready-made thanks to the Captain Toad port. Out of all of the remaining Wii U games, SM3DW is the one I would expect to come first.
  21. I've been using the official Nintendo LAN adapter since day 1, never had any issues with heating at all. You can actually use any generic USB LAN adapter, they all do exactly the same thing; so go for it! While I'm at it, all generic USB hubs work exactly as you'd expect too. I've had my LAN adapter connected to one, connected to my Switch since day 1 and it has always worked perfectly!
  22. Finally got Captain Toad Switch (and Octopath). Man, playing this again really makes me pine for SM3DW on Switch, it's such a ridiculously good fit for it that it hurts! Both games are so much better than Odyssey that it's not even funny! SM3DW is begging for the Switch treatment! Come on Nintendo! Sort it out!
  23. A third party has more faith in a Switch release than a PS4 one!? What crazy world has this become!? Totally in for the drums!!
  24. That's not happening this time, Sakurai explicitly said in the video that they would be revealing every character prior to the game's release.
  25. I'm sure that it's a story mode. Sakurai was pretty specific in stating that Rathalos appears both as a stage hazard AND as a boss seperately... which means that there has to be boss battles! Also, if you look closely at this part of the Simon Belmont trailer... The introductory section with Simon entering Dracula's throne and Dracula's reveal is not normal gameplay and looks like a cutscene... ... I think that the madmen are actually gonna attempt a new story mode! In a HD Smash game!
