Super Mario Maker 2 - Level Share/Feedback thread
Dcubed replied to Ronnie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Haven’t had a chance to play it yet, but you can’t include downloaded courses in your own World? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised... They’ve gone out of their way to block reuploading other people’s courses as your own, so I don’t know why I thought it would be possible -
Super Mario Maker 2 - Level Share/Feedback thread

Was just thinking... Now that Super Worlds are a thing... Wouldn’t it be fun if we came up with a Super NE World! Take courses that everyone has made and put them all into one giant NE Mario game! Someone would have to download our courses and then host them on their SMM2 account of course. Would be great fun I reckon! (And hey! All those previously pointless lives might actually matter now!) -
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/46689/~/how-to-update-super-mario-maker-2#v300 ' OMG! You can now use the Dotted Line Block in SM3DW!! FINALLY!! It was so dumb that you couldn't do this originally!

OMG! World Map Maker! At last!!! Might well be worth remaking my other Wii U courses after all! Finally! I can actually design courses with progression in mind!

Done. Funnily enough, Jim himself makes the same point! That it's basically impossible to talk about FF7's main controversy without it spoiling the big twist!

Really interesting question he poises here... I actually think I agree with him on this one! Whether or not you deem something to be clever subversion or false advertising does really depend on whether you liked it or not. Do note that this video does spoil the ending of FF7 Remake!

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix (2020)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Good stuff. Shame it seems to be digital only... but I guess during these times, it makes sense. -
It probably just wasn’t done in time. The game had already received a hefty delay from its original 2019 release date and they probably figured that cutting the year-long events and then putting them back in as time goes on would be fine, since they’re not supposed to be accessible yet anyway. Basically the Splatoon strategy... which makes sense considering that Splatoon and Animal Crossing share many of the same staff!

Turnip Prices Thread - Playing The Market In New Horizons

Yup. It’s quickly turning into a Chinese WoW Gold Farming situation with places like the Turnip Exchange. I’m just surprised at the speed at which it started to happen really! Nintendo will probably start cracking down on it very soon and will probably start sending cease and desist orders to Turnip Exchange if they don’t clamp down on these jokers demanding real-life currency. Personally? I’m probably never going to end up using it myself. It’s just too much of a time investment, not to mention too impersonal. If you’re not enjoying your time playing with turnips and seeing everyone else’s islands & chatting with them? What’s the point really? -

Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!

It’s not just the first room though, it’s throughout the entire course. Once you lose your Master Sword, you’re totally buggered! I would’ve looked to add more swords scattered around the course so that the player has at least a chance to recover if they make a mistake partway through. -

Right! I've played all three. Here're my thoughts... @darksnowman Really enjoyed this one! Just the right difficulty with some really cool ideas throughout (I particularily liked the optional pipe section where you have to drop down to get into the pipe in time; and the last section in the vertically scrolling part with the P-Switch, very cool!). I also had no idea that the giant Magikoopa also spawned different enemies/items from his smaller counterpart! Might have to nick that idea at some point... One thing that lets your course design down here though is the baffling choice of sound effects though, that have no real rhyme or reason to them. They give the impression that you're doing certain things right or wrong, but their placement makes no sense. Also, I feel that you could've done more with the rising lava mechanic. It could've made for some interesting gameplay but ultimately goes underutilised, bit of a shame there. Good stuff overall though, had fun with this one @RedShell As usual, you knock it out of the park! Great use of the Skipsqueaks! Would've probably have never had thought of it, and the final vertical section is pure genius! Reminds me a lot of your Warioware stages and I loved it! Soul Crushing difficulty and all! You lied about Baby Face though, it took me a good while to figure out how to get to it! Such a tease at the end!! Love it! @Sméagol Very creative use of Link's moveset here and as usual, it's way hard! Unfortunately, your course suffers from a fatal flaw that comes with the use of Link... ... your level is Soft Lock Hell. Literally one mistake and you're dead. It's way too unforgiving and ultimately that's just down to the stupid way that Nintendo integrated the Master Sword powerup in this game. A real shame, but it's just the way that Link works sadly. You really needed to have some means of restoring your Link form; be it through strategically placed Master Swords, or spawning pipes. It's just cruel and frustrating as it stands. So with that all said? RedShell gets my vote this month! -

Bloody hell! Actual features!? ... and still no folders! Whoopie!

RE4 absolutely doesn't need to be remade. The game is basically perfect as it is; there's no way that Capcom aren't going to end up ruining it. Not to mention that there's no possible way that they could do a Ground-up remake without cutting out at least 2/3 of the game's content. It's just too big and expansive of a game to remake from scratch in modern HD/4K without making massive sacrifices, to the point where it isn't just a shadow of its former self.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to be in lockdown like most people; and Glen-i is out of action at the moment. Otherwise we would've happily have joined in this month. Hopefully next time though! -
If they can get the VMU to work wirelessly, that'll be really impressive!

Sadly I couldn't find the time to make a course this week. But I'll be sure to play through the ones you guys have submitted anyway
