  1. Maybe in a couple of years or so, when Sony actually start releasing titles for the console Until then? Might as well be an expensive brick that you're buying.
  2. So I have an interesting question for you guys... Now that lockdown is being eased (arguably way too early; and against expert advice), will you guys actually go ahead and start visiting friends and family now? (Assuming that you weren't already disregarding the lockdown rules beforehand anyway).
  3. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/more-than-70-guerrilla-developers-worked-on-death-stranding/ They played a very significant role in its development. It was almost as much their game as it was Kojima Productions'.
  4. None of those developers will have anything to show for a good while. Gurrilla only just launched Death Stranding, and are also about to release the PC versions of their titles too. Santa Monica launched GOW only in 2018 and aren't going to have anything new for years still. Insomniac have only just been aqquired by Sony a few months ago and will only just be starting on their next game now. The same is true of all of their other first party studios. They've all recently released their big PS4 titles (or are about to do so) and simply aren't ready to show anything yet of their next titles (which is why Sony have announced jack shit for the past couple of years). Sony's lineup is going to be barren for a good while. The only first party developer in their staple that will have a big-name exclusive ready to go any time soon is Polyphony, who really should have Gran Turismo 7 out within the first year or so (though I wouldn't imagine that they would've had dev kits for that long; so it might take them longer to port over the unreleased PS4 version than I'm expecting; but hey! Hopefully they've managed to sort themselves out and they'll get GT7 out of the door). They're the only first party studio who should really be good to go. You will probably also see some smaller titles from Japan Studio, but that's about it. Otherwise Sony will probably tap into outside studios heavily in the first couple of years. Bluepoint will probably have Demon Souls Remastered good to go early on in the PS5's life (though it's not impossible that it'll actually be a cross-gen release). Exclusive content for both PS5 and Series X will be very thin on the ground, simply because it won't be ready for a good while (especially with COVID throwing a spanner in the works). In this situation? Enhanced BC will become a big feather in Microsoft's cap.
  5. That's so bloody awesome! God I wish that Nintendo could offer the same treatment to their past games... Microsoft are making their competition just look stupid when it comes to backwards compatibilty! Too bad that they have the least interesting back catalogue! There's absolutely no real reason to choose PS5 over Series X outside of Sony's exclusive titles. Microsoft are absolutely crushing Sony when it comes to multiplatform titles and the overal hardware experience. And really? That's gonna be the most important thing with these new consoles for the first couple of years. There isn't going to be anything major that will be new and exclusive to either machine until 2023 really; so enhanced backwards compatibility and enhanced versions of multiplatform titles will be the big USP for at least the first couple of years. Microsoft know this and that's why BC is such a huge focus for them. Meanwhile, Sony don't give a shit about their legacy anymore and it's gonna end up biting them in the arse big time.
  6. It's even more disappointing a visual upgrade than I thought! They haven't even fully changed the character models! Just the faces and hands. Also some donwgrades from the Wii version too (like the trees). Very very disappointing.
  7. Really happy with how this one turned out. It was a barmy idea but I reckon it works surprisingly well You guys will be glad to know that this one isn't crazy hard either.
  8. Yeah, it's great right now. Too bad that COVID is going to end up ruining everyone's plans. I suspect that the rest of the year is going to be pretty barren after this wave...
  9. Bugger. At least it's not a long wait. Still annoying though.
  10. The Bully’s pattern is actually not random. The Bully will always alternate between moving left and right. The actual distance it travels on each rotation IS random, but it’s pattern is 100% predictable. You need to be patient and wait for your chance to sneak past it As for leniency? It’s actually impossible to make the pattern more lenient. That’s the maximum amount of space a Bully will move on it’s own before it spots Mario; you can’t do anything to increase the time it spends facing one direction (if I could make it more lenient, I would’ve done so). As for the checkpoint? It was a choice between having both my checkpoints wasted here and then having nothing for the rest of the level, or having the checkpoint right afterwards. I chose the latter (no way was I going to make the player have to repeat that room if they get past it!) As for the Stingbee at the start? 100% intentional. I wanted to discourage and punish the player for actually going on top of the platform; this is a stealth level, you need to keep out of the sight of the security cameras
  11. So I’m back, with not one; but TWO flagpole touch fails! Finally managed it though! Bloody hell that was tough! Might well be your hardest one yet! Great stuff as always
  12. Cheers! I honestly didn't think I could actually make it work! I was shocked when I was messing around with ideas and it actually started to feel like legit stealth! (I think it was THAT room where it really clicked, especially when I came up with the crawl space; I was so happy when the sound trick actually bloody worked! - balancing that room was a bloody nightmare though!). Was really happy with how the disguise section came together too! Simple, but effective I reckon! I'll be playing your level soon; probably in a couple of hours or so... let's see if I can beat it in less than 24:53 now
  13. Good man! (I did find out about the warp box softlock, but I figured that it was funny enough to just leave in; the player should know what's gonna happen anyway, so it's their own fault ) Nearly there now! Make your country proud!
  14. To be honest, that is probably the hardest room in the level. Don't worry, there IS a checkpoint right afterwards! Keep at it! (BTW, little tip for later on... enemies CAN react to you knocking on the ground below them to make sound, but must be facing towards you )
  15. Oh don't worry, I'll be sure to get that clear rate to 0.14% when I get round to playing it later on today
  16. Man I wish Charlie Brooker's Antiviral Wipe could've come out just two weeks later, just to catch today's viral spread...
  17. Bad news... So it actually runs in a lower resolution than Xenoblade 2... Handheld mode can actually even drop lower than the original Wii game! Honestly, what's the bloody point!? It's barely even an upgrade over the original Wii game at all! I would much rather have reduced special effects and a proper 1080p resolution! Isn't a HD remaster is supposed to be... you know... HD!? Shameful, bloody shameful. Why is the Switch struggling to run a Wii game? Hell, the Switch is powerful enough to emulate the original Wii game! Monolith need to sort themselves and their engine out; this is not good enough. Plain and simple.
  18. If anything, that makes the level even better
  19. Which Super Mario? That's pretty vague
  20. Alright, alright. Here’s a proper level... A stealth level? In Mario Maker!?!? You’d better believe it!
  21. This level is completely fucking stupid. I came up with the idiotic idea in about 5 mins and knocked up an entire level right after! Enjoy!
  22. And that’s when they were doing DLC/Torna for Xenoblade 2, and when they were co-developing Animal Crossing New Horizons! That’s a crazy good turnaround! Most importantly, XBde apparently has proper surround sound, unlike XB2! I was going to riot if they didn’t have proper 5.1 this time, considering that the original Wii version had DPL2. So they’re safe for now...
  23. Wayforward you say? Colour me interested!
  24. This level was basically an experiment in how to make something that would normally be boring, into something more interesting! To tell the truth though, I’m not 100% happy with it though. I’ve made it too hard, even with the generous checkpoints. I’m sick of working on it now though, want to move on and I’m not making any more tweaks to it now I HAVE actually left in some super cheaty level warps though if you just simply can’t beat it...
  25. DQ9 is a game that I probably couldn't stomach normally, simply because the gameplay isn't interesting or novel enough to keep my interest... ... EXCEPT in multiplayer! I played the entire thing in multiplayer with @Glen-i back in the day and it was fantastic! It absolutely elevated the experience 10-fold! The way that you could freely explore the world and carry on with the main quest independently of each other and jump into each others' fights when you felt like it was just amazing! Especially when it came to the grottos, then it's multiplayer Mystery Dungeon! It's great! Lots of fond memories of screaming out "GLEN!/DEAN! LMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" whenever one of us found a Liquid Metal Slime As a single player game though? It's really just kinda boring though... I know that DQ prides itself on being really THE vanilla JRPG series, but DQ9 really is just too vanilla for my tastes without the multiplayer component.
