  1. December 8th! Absolutely insanely late (bloody hell it’s a Microsoft 1st party game now!) but better than never!
  2. Do hope that they make the Quick Resume mechanism a bit more transparant in future updates. Has been a few times where it has deleted my Suspend Save for a game, and I had no idea if it had kept it saved or not. Just a simple notification that I've run out of slots, or perhaps a memory bar to show how much space you have left, or some way to manage it would be much appreciated. I get that it can't save everything indefinitely, but it would be nice to know when it's gonna delete one of my Suspend Saves. On a brighter note, I'm finally getting the chance to play through Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night! (Kickstarted it for a Switch version and was left feeling super burned after it turned out to be a tire fire of a version). It's pretty great so far! And the performance/loading times are just flawless here on Series S/X!
  3. Still gutted that it isn't really a Super "Nintendo" World, so much as a Super "Mario" World; but I aint gonna lie, it looks great! Love the idea of a Mario Kart AR ride! (Even though I'd still much rather have DK's Minecart Carnage...)
  4. Woah! Prototype Nomad! https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/11/sega_just_showed_off_a_prototype_handheld_for_the_first_time_ever COOOOOOOOOOLLLL!! Comes from a seminar SEGA did recently where they talk about their console hardware development history (turn on subtitles for English!)
  5. Hoping it's good, but I'm not sure if we should be making threads about the Ransomware leak just yet... Personally I'm much more excited by the other big Capcom Switch exclusive though... Oh and the VERY late localisation!
  6. Very sad, but also inevitable. SMM’s online servers probably cost a fair amount to maintain, so it was always gonna go down faster than other 3DS/Wii U games. And this is why it’s absolutely insane that SMM2 doesn’t have any local wireless level sharing features!
  7. Water, meet fish. Couldn't think of a more natural fit between developer and licensed IP. Massive potential for greatness here!
  8. Damn shame. Sounds like they just gave up on this release...
  9. Life has unfortunately gotten in the way again for me... I’m still gonna make my course though. Even if it ends up being way late, I really like the P-Switch idea that I have swirling around in my head! So I’m gonna end up making it anyway; time limit or no time limit!
  10. OMG!! GCN controller support!!! And yes! The analog triggers & Digital Click are fully working!! The game is finally playable!
  11. Launch day success was never in question. It’s the coming months that’ll really tell the tale.
  12. Obligatory post incoming... I have to because it’s true. Other than that one incredibly exploitable flaw, Valkyria Chronicles is a good time.
  13. Disaster DOC is really a game that is greater than the sum of its parts. While each individual part isn't especially strong on its own, they do end up coming together to create something really unique and special. There really is no other game quite like it (no, not even the Disaster Report games!). It's a wonderful celebration of the best and the worst aspects of the Disaster Movie genre and it's a brilliant exploration of what can be done with the Wii Remote & Nunchuck in a bespoke action adventure game. It's a game where you have some genuinely beautifulily crafted moments... and then this right next to it... When you gotta eat, you gotta eat! I do think that it's a great game overall, even if the individual aspects don't always hold up to scruitiny. While it certainly has its fair share of issues, it is a wildly entertaining game from start to finish; where not even the most cold hearted & jaded player couldn't possibly not crack a smile throughout! (Also I'm one of those weirdos that genuinely enjoyed the driving sections and their surprisingly realistic car driving physics; go figure!)
  14. It does when it's not an even integer scale... Which is unfortunately the case here... Remember how DS games look blurry on a 3DS when you don't use the secret button combo that makes the screen smaller? Yeah, that's what's happening here with the NES games... The screen is higher resolution than the NES games, but the screen is not an even integer multiplier of the NES' resolution, so you get a blurry bilinear upscale. Thankfully the rest of the stuff on this thing apparantly renders at the screen's native res though and looks good. I mean, it's not like you'd be getting this thing for actually PLAYING SMB 1 & Lost Levels anyway; it's a tabletop centrepiece toy/clock that just so happens to come with two bonus NES games (there are FAR better ways of actually playing these games).
  15. So amazing! I love how it all Just Works! Full Fat 4K Panzer Dragoon Orta!
  16. Like asking a smoking addict to put a limit on how many cigarretes they smoke in one day; but with no form of outside support or nicotine patches. Working As Designed.
  17. S&P2 is SO FUCKING GOOD! What an absolutely wild ride of a game! Love every moment of it! If I have any complaint to make about the game as a whole though? It's that it's too long for an arcade style rail shooter. It's not really feasible to beat it in one sitting without feeling a bit burnt out & exhausted before the end; which does hurt its replayability. I can't really replay it nearly as much as the first game, purely for that reason. It's still a fantastic experience though and one of Treasure/Nintendo's very best!
  18. I really like the story in FF12, but ultimately, the Gambit system is just too exploitable for the game to be fun for me. When the winning strategy is to just let the game play itself? Well, might as well not be playing the game at all really The story, character and setting are all great in FF12; I love the political overtones surrounding the game. I just wish that the gameplay was more engaging (literally!). I feel that FF12's gameplay concept is a sound one, but the execution just doesn't hit the mark... A lot of people like to look at Xenoblade's battle system and call that "FF12 done right"; and ultimately I would agree with them
  19. I hate open world games with a passion, but I do actually like Burnout Paradise. It’s not my favourite in the series, but it’s a really neat take on the series’ concept and it actually does make genuinely good use of the open world level design (helps that the open world isn’t ridiculously large). I do like the way that it encourages you to really learn the routes and find shortcuts off the beaten track. One of only four open world games I’ve ever genuinely enjoyed (the other three being Crazy Taxi 1&2 and The Wind Waker).
  20. I got three years worth of Game Pass Ultimate for £121 using that method. Literally highway robbery lol!
  21. The best long-term plan is to buy 12-36 months of Xbox Live Gold and then do the £1 upgrade offer (which is one time only deal). It's, by far, the cheapest way of stocking up Game Pass. Otherwise? Your plan is probably the best one.
  22. Absolute beauties!
  23. That's the thing I'm most excited for! It's the Virtual Console Suspend Saves but for everything! It's an absolutely transformative feature on Nintendo consoles and I'm really excited to now have it for everything!
  24. My Series X should be arriving this evening! Hooray! (Too bad I'm working tonight, so I won't get to play it today...) My brother's Series S has arrived though! I can't believe how small it is! It's amazing! What a lovely looking little machine!
  25. They dispatched mine at like 23:45 last night; still claiming it’ll come today... Fingers crossed for both of us!
