I literally cackled with laughter when they said that the PS4 Pro version (not even base PS4!) runs at a mere 854p and STILL can’t hit 30FPS! The Switch version in portable mode literally looks and runs worse than the PS2/Xbox original!! This will go down in history as one of the absolute worst ports of all time, right down there with the likes of DOOM Saturn, DOOM 32x, Silent Hill HD Collection and Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis on GBA (Hey @Cube, now you don’t need to feel so bad about that one!). Just a monumental fuckup of biblical proportions (and it’s even a rushed out anniversary release! Just like STH Genesis for GBA, It’s clearly in good company!)

I really, really hope that they change their mind about this being the last BC update... There's still so much left stuck on the original Xbox. Still, I can't help but admire what they've done so far. This is a fantastic update, and I'm overjoyed to finally have HD renditions of Timesplitters 2 & 3 (They even support System Link!). Will probably pick up Otogi 1 & 2 and Vandall Hearts when they go on sale as well. BTW, the anniversary video itself was really nice as well; nice to see them not be afraid to poke a bit of fun at themselves as well. Looking forward to the documentary series next month

Agreed. 2D games have a glass ceiling on how well they can be critically received by the media. Same goes for lots of different genres, like Party games (No matter how good a Mario Party game is for instance, it simply cannot score highly by the media because their staff/reviewers are simply not interested in that genre as a whole). Unless you’re a AAA “Oscar Bait” story-driven 3D action game; you simply cannot win GOTY awards from the mainstream media outlets. Has been that way for a very long time, and I don’t see that ever changing. Deathloop will likely be the big winner with this year’s TGAs.

Yeah, I loved that bit of Byleth’s trailer. I also really, really wanted to give a vote to By Book, Blade & Crest of Flame though for how it screws over Chrom in hilarious fashion; but sadly it was 3 votes only. Also, yeah @Jonnas, I can’t believe that One Winged Angel didn’t crack to Top 10 (but Cloud got robbed even more, so I guess it’s still a victory for Sephiroth in the end ).

The bosses are literally the best bit about this game. I absolutely loved them. If you’re not enjoying the bosses or their dungeons? You might as well stop playing then.

Yeah, the amount of languages it supports is insane! It even supports Turkish! (And my Turkish friend tells me that the Turkish localisation is quality ).

So what the hell is Dicey Dungeons? Well it's a roguelike about dice! And it's really friggin' good! I would know, I wrote the review on the main site for this game... Click me to read the N-E Review Anyway, I made this thread for two reasons. One, because this game deserves its own dedicated thread (it IS one of the best games on Switch after all!), and Two? The game just got some surprise stealth-released-for-free DLC today to coincide with the Xbox release, that would otherwise easily fly under the radar, and I wanted to spread the word! Presenting... The Halloween Special! Three brand new episodes starring Warrior, Inventor and Witch (bet you couldn't have ever guessed that they would be the stars here!), with all new mechanics, enemies and MUSIC!! Oh yes!! Best bit? There's even MORE free DLC on the way!! Just recently announced on the Distractionware blog, there's a new DLC pack incoming within the next few months (to coincide with the release of the mobile version) with SIX BRAND NEW EPISODES!!! Can't wait! Anyway, that's that. Feel free to discuss this amazing game here

Excellent video from SSFF about the disastrous launch of the Xbox One. Highly recommend a watch. It really is amazing just how far Phil Spencer has come with the Xbox brand after Don Mattrick absolutely dumpstered it!

Pro tip, you never actually need to adjust the camera at all in SMG. If you do mess with the camera? You’ll just make things more difficult for yourself. The autocamera always gives you the best view of the action; as the game was never designed to require the camera to be player adjusted at any time (the camera controls were only originally put in to placate the “core gamers” who complained that Nintendo were “selling out” to the “casuals”). Just leave the camera alone and you’ll have a much better time with the game.

Advance Wars clearly delayed itself out of 2021 for this exact reason

So… it looks like a bunch of original Xbox and 360 games are getting new store listings and updates behind the scenes before Monday’s big Xbox Anniversary event… Looks like I may well have been right on the money about this being the big restart of the Xbox BC programme! Come on Outrun 2, Afterburner Climax and JSRF!

That stinger about the CPU is absolutely wild! 760 days of unavailability!? Even wilder that they’ve managed to find a way to put an entirely different CPU in without breaking anything! This chip shortage is insane. Guess the Analogue Pocket probably isn’t coming out until 2023 now

I'm definitely not buying a retail copy until they release a re-print with all of the updates on the cartridge. If anything, the international reviews are going to be much less kind than they actually should be, because they've been reviewing a beta version of the game. TPC brought this on themselves though, so I say let the reviewers rake them over the coals for this mess.

I'm surprised that the E3 2006 trailer didn't do better in the polls! Even though the trailer is pretty tame by today's standards in terms of editing, production and pacing; it was the first time we ever got a 3rd party character! (speaking of which, why the hell did Sonic Joins The Brawl beat it!? - was it the 1,2,3 kick?). Likewise, I think A Piercing Screech, Looks Like We Don't Have A Choice, and Goddess Of Light deserved to do a bit better as well; though they didn't make my top 3, they're really good trailers that are well put together. Also... wow! Cloud's trailer got no votes at all!? That's shocking! I thought that trailer was fantastically well put together! (It might have the budget of about 50p found down the back of Sakurai's couch, but the editing is top notch!) Glad to see you guys recognise greatness with Vampire Killer though. That is an amazing trailer in every respect (and was also my personal No1 pick). But I do agree that Best Friends is the most important Smash Bros trailer as a whole, even if it isn't necessarily the absolutely best put together one. Wow, even after the day 1 update, Union Room STILL only supports 2 players!? (making it basically pointless). It’s STILL not finished!? What a joke! This game desperately needed a delay. There’s no excuse for this kind of shabby, incomplete release. Considering that Advance Wars Reboot Camp just got a great big whacking 4 month delay? This is totally a TPC decision; can’t imagine that Nintendo would allow this if they were totally in charge.

It probably is the real date. It would already be a pretty huge 4 month delay as-is; doubt that it needs an even further delay than that.

Absolutely awful. I’m shocked that TPC/Nintendo are allowing this. They’re literally selling people a Beta version on the cartridge. There’s no point in buying the retail version at launch; might as well wait until they re-print the actual finished version of the game later on down the line (unless you actually DO want to mess around with the unfinished beta that is ).
