  1. You definitely need StreetPasses/use Play Coins to initiate all the games. They work in a similar way to Street Pass Quest. The SP Squad (schmup) game, for example, is based on you being the pilot of a spaceship and your SP Hits being the firing weapons. I have played for the 1st 2 levels. It's hard to say so far, but the 1st level was easy, the 2nd easy as well, but cunningly placed the treasures in places that will be hard to get, allowing for multiple playthroughs. It holds a lot in the promise of longevity, in that there's plenty to collect, high score leaderboards, and tickets to collect. Can't wait to get back to it. Check here for ONM's opinions as well. http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/51363/decide-which-new-streetpass-games-you-want/
  2. Mr Skrebels from ONM does a good breakdown on all the games here; http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/51363/decide-which-new-streetpass-games-you-want/ He looks at all 4 games individually and gives a quick 1st impressions on them all.
  3. This is confirmed in that Gamexplain video above, that mini-boosts are time based, like in MK7, and not waggled, like in MKDS. Thank Richard Dawkins (trying to remove all religious vernacular from my vocabulary), or whichever deity you choose to defer to. Snaking is the very seed that would grow to destroy this game.
  4. Breaking news!
  5. I felt the same and still feel the same about Nintendo Land, shit bloody D-Pad on the Wii-mote to play Mario Chase?
  6. Picross DS is, in my opinion, the best Picross game I have played. It has levels based upon themes. For example a Nintendo Level, where you'll be solving pictures of Mario, etc. Plus it has bigger puzzles than both the 3DS eShop versions offer (the biggest they go up to is a 15x15 grid, iirc the DS version has 25x25 grids). The newest, Picross E2, does have a nice Micross mode where all the smaller puzzles link into unlocking pictures, such as the Mona Lisa, or The Gleaners. All are excellent, but for me Picross DS was sublime.
  7. No crashes for me, downloaded the new games OK, and as of now only played the Mii Squad one. A side scrolling schmup. Not too bad, your Mii Streetpasses link to your spaceship as weapons, you can set them in a position to shoot in different directions. Fulfilling certain objectives in the games gives you vouchers to exchange for new hats, and, at least this game, includes Streetpass leaderboards (a nice touch). BTW got the Skyward Sword Puzzle.
  8. Pikmin 3 for me every time.
  9. No you can join randoms to play with them or create your own game that allows randoms to join you. You do need to select Network Mode from the cat at the dock though to enable online interaction.
  10. Completely agree, I'm with this all the way.
  11. Commodore 64 - PowerDrift (a kart racer, when you overtook a person your character flipped a bird at them) Commodore Amiga - Sensible Soccer NES - Batman: The Video Game SNES - Super Mario Kart N64 - Goldeneye 007 (OoT in a very close 2nd) Gamecube - Metroid Prime Wii - Super Mario Galaxy 2 WiiU - Zombi U (so far) Gameboy - Zelda: Link's Awakening Gameboy Advance - A Link to the Past (GBA version) Nintendo DS - Mario Kart DS (honourable mention to Geometry Wars) Nintendo 3DS - Fire Emblem Awakening (so far)
  12. @tapedeck and @Evearae added both of you today.
  13. Ohhh, yes (done in the Churchill Dog voice), it is a mammoth, colossal undertaking. Amour, wepons and upgrades can all be bought from the smithy and the lady who owns the shop nearest to him. With the smithy you have to supply the materials and he'll knock them together. From the lady she sells things off the peg, so to speak.
  14. yeah the time would be the same for me, unless over the weekend where I can get on at an earlier UK time, like from 6:00am onwards. LOL, early riser?
  15. It was all just set-up in the last 35 minutes...as if to say, "Hey remember all these characters, now don't forget there will be a Season 4, and you'll be able to catch them again.", but I didn't expect anything else after the amazing episode 9. It was the same at the start of Season 3.
  16. Less of the swaying, more of the apologising.
  17. Recently upgraded my internet connection, and tried this online and maintained a perfect connection (no lag) with 1 player and myself over 5 floors (other player was American). I am willing to give this another go with the Luigiers of NE if anybody is up for it?
  18. I have exactly the same problem, tried connecting to people, seems to work fine, but when people come visiting my town it ends up being stuck in save mode for ages and then Mr-Resetti pops up followed by an error. Ahhh, when you tried to connect to me, did you try twice? The first time I was talking to the Owl in the museum and couldn't cancel out fast enough. The 2nd time I got an error (if it was you the 2nd time). Will have to try some of Nintendo's recommendations for changing my router settings.
  19. I work evenings, I'm one of those English cram school teachers, let's try next Sunday morning then. Unless your about for an hour at 10:30pm to about 11:30 on weekdays, that'll be good with me. Pre-bed bug catching. If so, I'll try tomorrow.
  20. Ahhh, joined my town after noon, wondered what the talk was about.
  21. What do Turnips do, and where do you get them from?
  22. I'm free mornings and weekends, times change over the weekend due to children being present, but I am free most mornings from 9 am to noon, and I'm usually playing something. If you want to play over the weekend it tends to be a last minute thing for me, and keep in touch it will happen. When's best for you?
  23. Same as above; added and and nothing back yet on @R3ap3rG @yesteryeargames @Haden @Happenstance Thanks. BTW last night, for me, took in the sights of 2 wonderful towns @Sheikah and Nicholas (is that @Daft?). Thanks both especially Sheikah who is a past master and can answer all my Noob questions. Cheers both.
  24. If you go into Nookling Junction you can buy a fortune cookie for 2 Play Coins. Let your fortune take a chance.
