  3. That's some sort of GIF heaven
  4. Definitely worth a fiver. Plays like a twin stick shooter, except you have no choice on the way your ship fires. It always fires in a forward direction, perpendicular to the wall your attached to. This seems strange at first, but allows you to think more about your positioning when coming into enemy contact, which is frequent. With the ability to jump between walls, spin jump to attack, and collect various weapon upgrades, this is certainly enjoyable. I haven't finished it, and still play it between other sessions, but that is testament to its difficulty, it is brutal if your going for 100%. If you liked Nano Assault Neo then this is a damn fine similar game style, with added platforming sections.

  6. Guacamelee STCE is an amazingly exhilarating romp through traditional Mexican culture! The deep combat system, difficult, but fair, platforming and puzzle challenges, the wonderful upgrade system borrowed from games of yesteryear, and its flawless frame rate regardless of how much is happening on-screen, reveal a timeless classic. Little problems of simultaneous 2-player platforming and a seemingly short play time do little to lessen the delight of this game. One of my favourite games of the year, and heartily recommended.

  9. I'd definitely recommend it for 4 quid. The 3D rotating worlds play very well, and it does look visually nice. It's in the amount of puzzle types on offer throughout the levels it shines, the bosses are a number of fights spread over a level, so they feel the same as a normal level. There are 2D Bonus levels which didn't work for me, bad double jumping, camera too closely zoomed in, etc. But it's worth it just for 3D levels alone, and there's a hell of a lot of collectables. At its best, Armillo pleases with it’s accurate movement mechanics, wonderful sound design, affordable price point and sheer variety of puzzle types on offer. At its worst, it’s frustrating 2D levels and sporadic frame rate freezes bring down an overall enjoyable puzzle platformer (apparently a patch is on the way to fix the frame rate issues, they don't happen often enough to mar the whole experience though).
  10. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is 10.99 UK pounds at Base.com; http://www.base.com/buy/product/ninja-gaiden-3-razors-edge-wii-u/dgc-nin1033.htm
  11. Nice puzzling on the 3D levels, like Mario Galaxy on rails and the Metroid Prime Morph Ball parts, just when you think they'll overuse a certain mechanic something new pops up. The 2D Bonus Level sections, however, were frustrating due to a camera that is too far zoomed in, rotating levels and a bad double jump mechanic. Overall, worth the 4 quid it costs at Introductory Price.

  15. That's exactly as I play, with the exception of the health and stamina bars, which I prefer on the TV. It's really nice to use the 2nd screen to touch for items, but play with the Wii U Pro C.

  21. I'm waiting for this to drop price on the WiiU, especially after playing Lego Batman 2, good stuff all round.
  22. Well, my enthusiasm for playing a Wii U transformers game hit rock bottom, 3/10 NintendoLife http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/wiiu/transformers_rise_of_the_dark_spark No multiplayer whatsoever, online or local. Stripped down, bad draw distance, popping, only looks a little better than a Wii game, are some of the defining words of the review.
