  1. thats the problem me and mate were finding. the 5-3 scores! It is like PES has gone all arcade.
  2. Owen did yo play on wide cam. Ramar the GK's are a joke! hit the ball with power and they push it straight out to the incoming striker or push the ball into the net. Even on Top Player it is easy too score as the GK's cant catch the damn ball! I only played friends 360 version for few hours as I gotta wait till Winning Eleven 2008 is released in japan but this is the first time in 4 years that I am considering not buying WE/PES. People are not gonna like this but hey I can't believe that I am not enjoying WE/PES like I did before. The speed on 360 version does my head in and I cant get past it. it is like pinball soccer. Dribbling is bit easy, messi and ronaldinho are just crazy. I have yet to see this Teamvision Konami talk about and it seems like a gimmick. Have any of you played multi-player yet? me and friend are getting scores of 5-3, 4-4, 4-3 etc. defenders seem to just leave open space for no good reason. another annoyance which has been in PES since PSone days is still there. you do through-ball to somebody, the defenders are all over the place, he's on his own but instead of running he walks towards the ball. He waits until the defenders are in better positions, and then for the last ten feet of the run, he speeds up. CPU Cheats still seem to be in the game! ML still basically the same which is pisses me off! Unless WE2008 is slower paced with better GK's I think I am gonna leave it this year. Oh and online sucks at the moment. crazy lag and why the FCUK does everyone pick Barcelona or Inter Milan. WE/PES needs to be ripped up and started again from scratch or it is never gonna progress. Rant over... http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/25-10-2007-6754.html
  3. I cannot see Liverpool getting through as I don't think they will win the 3 games. Porto at anfield is a tough game as they are a real good side. have great technical ability and know how to keep the ball. Liverpool now have to force the matches and score goals. Rafa doesnt really like doing this! he will never set out the team to go out and attack. he is defensive minded and it is hurting the players. last night 1-0 down he pulls seven men back for set pieces when beskitas have three men in the box. Its madness! Liverpool played superb against chelsea and since then they have been average. Even when beating wigan and everton the performances were not great. Celtic have no pace at the back and I have no idea why GS never sorted this out in the summer. I know Balde can be suspect but the guy does have pace. Naylor has been average for months now, problem is that he has no competition.
  4. I not sure about that. I do know you need xbox live vision camera if you want too put your face on the game. USB sticks and digital camera's do not work.
  5. liverpool as an attacking force have been shocking! Rafa has explaining to do if liverpool do not get out the group stage. Kuyt seriously is not good enough for Liverpool Football Club. Apart from Torres the other strikers are average.
  6. Edge scored orange box 10/10.
  7. I am more excited about my DS rather than my Wii.
  8. very correct Mikey. Watch next year Konami will say "PES 2009" now has a full complete edit mode. It now has 30+ stadiums etc! When this stuff is already on PS2 and should of been on this years next-gen versions.
  9. so far I have not taken to my Wii as much as I would of liked too. I love the VC games but thats about it. If I was not downloading VC games the Machine would be collecting dust. There has been hardly any software I have wanted to buy. Luckily Mario Galaxy is out soon so the Wii will be used much more often.
  10. Wii has been dropping for weeks now. it is because in Japan software has been pretty weak for few months now. Sales will pick up when Mario Galaxy is released. Difference with the Wii and DS is that the DS sells 50,000+ even without any big software releases. The DS is king and will stay number 1.
  11. another thing I have found out is you cannot edit team badges in the 360/PS3 version.
  12. great article and something I agree with. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugbyworldcup/article3084609.ece It's Bok to basics and the future of rugby is doomed Monday, October 22, 2007 By Peter Bills England were brave and courageous, South Africa disciplined and dedicated to defence. So was this a World Cup final to put before the planet via global television? You must be joking. What South Africa and England churned out in Paris on Saturday evening mirrored the 2007 World Cup. In a technical sense, poor, unadventurous, defensive-minded rugby, littered with aimless kicking. But this isn't rugby as we know it. Nor is it the rugby most people want to see played now or in the future. Sure, the South African nation will celebrate and claim all is well in their land now the mighty Boks rule the rugby-playing world once again. They'll be deluding themselves if they believe that. South Africa have now played in two Rugby World Cup finals, won them both and not scored a single try in either. We are surely entitled to ask not only what that tells us about the Springboks' approach but also about what is wrong with the modern game. Do people pay anything up to €1,000 or even more to watch a match of penalty goals, as well as interminable kicking up in the air? This was one of the most boring Rugby World Cup finals in history. Neither side wanted to risk anything; consequently, they kicked the ball away and invited the opposition to make mistakes with it. England did, conceding five penalties in the first hour that were all translated into points. Those acts of transgression decided the game. And that was all it took to win the 2007 Rugby World Cup. No attacking-minded play, no inventiveness, little skill behind the scrum, scant originality in the play. The formula was dire and depressing. Only Mathew Tait of England and perhaps South Africa's Frans Steyn offered a glimpse of back line creativity and cunning. So is this what rugby union has come to, circa 2007? Never mind the product; sure, that's garbage and we all know that. But throw in a few fireworks after 80 minutes of mind-numbing boredom and hope the pundits will go home happy. The fools might have done; any with a brain would have known that what they saw was complete rubbish. About 12 months ago, All Blacks coach Graham Henry told me frankly: "If winning a World Cup means we have to play defensive rugby, we have to kick the ball away and not play, then I'd rather not win it." I believe Henry was dead right. Why would you want to win a World Cup playing no rugby, just focusing entirely on defence and keeping the other lot out? If this is what it takes to win a World Cup, New Zealand is better off without the tarnished trophy. This glittering World Cup is no trophy of excellence. It's been dumbed down to a trophy of the basics?..who can deny longest, who can strangle the opposition, who can stop opponents playing, who can force mistakes from their rivals? That is what is required to win a World Cup in the modern game. The fact that a side as limited as England could reach the final, spoke volumes for the dearth of real quality in this tournament. This once great game is at a crossroads, post the 2007 World Cup. Unless serious steps are taken to reward attacking play, to negate the incessant kicking and find some way to marginalise those who just don't want to play, we can forget all about rugby union as it once was. Saturday in Paris in front of 80,000 people gave us a foretaste of what this game will become in the future unless urgent action is taken to address the failings. Frankly, if this was a vision of the future, it was frightening.
  13. like i said the only difference is game speed and the ability to use option files. I have hear that if you play 360 version with VGA cable it slows the game down. not sure if that true though. PS3 had worse framerate so maybe you should be happy your getting 360 version. I have heard both version are really poor with the framerate on goal replays. it is suppose to be really realy bad. another piss take from Konami is that PS2 version has 40 stadiums while PS3/360 has only got 15.
  14. The PS3/360 games are the same but the 360 version plays super fast like the demo. I hated the speed so will wait for Winning Eleven 2008 (November 22nd) as the japanese version should be slower. PS3 version plays slower more realistic pace but has slowdown. http://www.pro-g.co.uk/ps3/pes7/review.html PS3 version will probably be easier to get option files for so edited teams etc you will be able to get from the web. Seems like MS will not allow this on 360. Both version have the same poor edit mode. yes you can edit players but you cannot edit kits fully as you can only change the front of the shirt. Both versions seem to be laggy online. It seems like USB sticks or Digital camera's do not work with the game so if you want to put your face on you will need the xbox live vision camera.
  15. get yourself a 20GB HD from play-asia for £43 and your laughing!!
  16. Just thought I would tell you that you cannot do this on 360 or PS3. the edit kit templates are a joke so you can only change the front of the shirts. the back and arms can not be changed so kits looks stupid. Plus with the 360 version I very much doubt we will be able to download option files off the internet due to Microsoft's strict policy. Ironflame I don't understand Konami. why take features out, they should be adding stuff on. The PS2 game still has more features than the 360/PS3 version.
  17. Looks amazing! I should have this by November 2nd.
  18. wouldnt it be the same for Street fighter then?
  19. Wii software sales are worrying if you ask me. Looking at the numbers it makes you wonder who is really buying Wii consoles. It is the same in Japan also but even there Wii Hardware has slowed down. I think though it is more down to lack of real quality software.
  20. ha ha one day you will realise. trust me after playing it for 4 years with no changes you can see why people are getting sick of it and want changes.

    Okami

not gonna bother if it is the same as PS2 version. I can get that for like £15
  22. Not being funny but I think you should be blaming Nintendo for no online. Nintendo's online offering is poor and needs too rapidly improve.
  23. remember them PES management games were pretty poor though but yeah lets hope we get more than the shitty Master league.
  24. Former England international Paul Parker delivers a few home truths about the rotten state of the national team after Wednesday's defeat to Russia Steve McClaren won't be sacked unless England fail to qualify for Euro 2008, and even though I don't like him, that is the right decision. If we somehow get through, it wouldn't be wise to go into a tournament with another manager, although I can't see England getting far with the current situation. The harsh reality is we are not good enough. When things go wrong all we get is spin and beaming teeth. But smiles are not going to help us face up to our failings, and will only perpetuate the myth that we are a top international side. It might be helpful if we don't qualify. Then we can stop papering over the cracks and start afresh with a new manager, take the opportunity to mix the side up a little bit, maybe change the formation to make the team more adaptable. McClaren was very keen to show he was different from Sven-Goran Eriksson but he doesn't seem to have brought in many new ideas. England were unfortunate with a poor penalty decision, but if you sit back on your lead you invite pressure. If Russia have the ball around the box there is always a chance they will get lucky. The same with the second goal. It wasn't great goalkeeping by Paul Robinson but if you let your opponent take pot shots from the edge of the area these things can happen. The manager seems to select whoever the media like at that moment in time, hence the selection of Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott for the most recent games. Lescott had a poor game but there is no point blaming the player when he is just shoved in and expected to perform. For a game in a hostile environment in Russia, an experienced head like Phil Neville would have been a much better bet at left-back. Not a big guy who has only played a handful of games on the left and is really a central defender at heart. You don't feel McClaren is picking a team to win a game, but rather one that the press are going to find acceptable. Successful coaches aren't afraid to ruffle a few feathers. We need someone who isn't scared of taking chances, and is confident in stating his intentions when he gets the job. Juergen Klinsmann made himself very unpopular in Germany before the last World Cup because he did the job his way and made some unusual decisions like basing himself in the USA. But in the end he was judged on the results during the tournament and he ended up a hero. As nice as it would be to have an Englishman in charge of our national team, the bravest coaches seem to be foreigners like Klinsmann, Jose Mourinho and Luiz Felipe Scolari. Sam Allardyce probably has the most imagination of any homegrown manager. England are becoming a second-rate football nation. We might keep on saying we've got the best league in the world, but that is mainly because of the great foreign players that all these millions are bringing in. Steven Gerrard is the only player we have who is unquestionably world class. Wayne Rooney has his moments but needs to improve his consistency, while most of the rest are decent players made to look better by their foreign team-mates at club level. Quite simply our players are not as good as they think they are. When you lose to Croatia and draw against Macedonia and Israel the evidence is there, yet still we don't face up to our failings. That unrealistic level of expectancy is still there. England's players do not realise the hard work and sacrifice needed to succeed at international level. I once played on for England despite having a hamstring strain because I didn't want to come off even if that meant making it worse. Today's squad would have half an eye on the next Champions League game and would come straight off. Compare that with a Croatian team that earn less money and play for lower-profile clubs - they would die for each other on the pitch and it is no wonder they are so much better collectively. Nobody seems willing to realise this, especially the players. If we get lucky and qualify, they will all be sounding off about winning Euro 2008 and ending 42 years of hurt. But there is a reason why it is so long since we have won anything. We need to have English players getting regular football, young players coming through and developing. But with the money and the immediate demands of success in the Premier League it is much easier to spend five million on a foreign player than nurture a teenager. As much money as the Premier League has generated, it is damaging the England team. Our players are not good enough, and when you couple that with a manager who is tactically poor and cannot seem to motivate his players, you can see why we are in this mess. Paul Parker was talking to Alex Chick / Eurosport
  25. Full Interview whit producer Akiyoshi 'Greyhound' Chosogabe: Quote: Pro Evolution Soccer has long been a lunchtime favourite and with the series finally competing on all formats, this is going to be one to watch as it takes on EA's FIFA franchise. While the PS3 version of PES has been grabbing all the attention (it's set to debut this month) it's the intriguing Wii version which has PES purists scratching their beards, wondering just what the series has in store. While we had a first glimpse of Pro Evo 2008 on Wii at last week's Pro Evo finals in Seville, we also managed to have a word with Akiyoshi 'Greyhound' Chosogabe, producer of the Wii version. Trivia fans might like to know that he first cut his teeth on the Pro Evo Management title. Before you go, don't forget to check out our exclusive news about the Classic Controller, where you'll also discover a splendid movie detailing PES Wii's intriguing new control method. What's been the most challenging part about developing a version of PES for Wii? Greyhound: It was challenging to create a brand new control system and the most difficult thing for me was having a brand new way of thinking. Of course all of the development team are core PES fans, but even some of the team didn't initially like the idea of a brand new control system. But I wanted to create a brand new PES. We've only seen the game in the training mode, don't you think controlling several players at the same time in a real game could prove difficult? Greyhound: I showed you an actual match in the trailer on the screen yesterday and I'm just using the training mode because time is very limited. But it's not so difficult to use this control scheme in an actual match. I think players will easily get used to this control method, but I wanted to show the simple method and training is the easiest way to show this. Would you say the Wii version is one for hardcore players? Wii is geared more towards casual players in Europe, is this the same in Japan? Greyhound: In the beginning I wondered if we would have to create a casual game, because the Wii is a more of a casual player's machine. But I thought it would be boring if we create it as a more casual game. Therefore in the beginning I abandoned any plans to make this a more casual version and started to look for a brand new direction. With Mario Strikers Charged Nintendo created the first online game for Wii in Europe. Did you ever consider including an online mode in Wii PES? Greyhound: I'm still in research and development to have Wi-Fi functionality, but currently there are some issues to be solved before we have an online version of the game. Did you ever consider controlling the game with your feet? Using the Wii-mote in that way? Using your foot to shoot for example? Greyhound: In the beginning we had the idea of putting the Nunchuck controller on your boot and actually one of the team put it on his foot. But it wasn't quite as interesting as we expected [laughs]. The guy who put the controller on his foot looked very awkward and it did not look like playing football at all. It looked like he had something wrong with his foot, so it was not a very successful experiment. As well as the new control scheme, will you support the Classic Controller with this Wii version? Greyhound: The base of this Wii version is the PS2 version, so technically it's possible to have classic control. But I'm focussing on creating a brand new game system so I don't have any plans to use the Classic Controller. While the unique control method will satisfy Wii players, do you think there's a danger traditional PES fans might not want to re-learn their tried and trusted control method? Greyhound: Everything we are doing, especially with test players shows some of the development staff can read their opponent's mind by seeing the arrows on the screen. So I would like you to practice the game very hard. If you practice hard I think you will be able to find a good method. Could your control method form a basis for the DS version of the game? Greyhound: I'm not involved in development of the DS version but we're exploring some opportunities there. Moving away from PES Wii for a moment, you produced the Pro Evo Management game, any chance we'll see a return for that series? Greyhound: I'm very happy to have that question. Personally I would like to continue that management series but the company has this new direction [on Wii]. I would love to do the next version of PES management, I would be very happy to include some PES management features in the next Wii version of the game. source:cvg new video: http://gonintendo.com/?p=27376
