I'm not sure what those shortcomings are supposed to be, exactly. Most people seem disappointed that it's not free roaming, and hold that against the game. Thing is, DICE never said it would be and, in my mind, were pretty clear we were getting a linear game. People just get too in to the hype, I think. They never fabricated that Prince of Persia was going to be free roaming, and this looks fairly similar.

but it is a shooter, and those are the industry standards. My point is that it looks sub par as an fps, and people are making excuses for it based on hardware, not software merit. The design looks old and boring, so why get excited?

Well if you like I could compare it to Call of Duty, Half life or Gears of War? It's still going to look old and boring to those, too.

but the hype is clearly all based on that lack of competition. If a game of this standard came out on 360 (graphics aside, the ai and gameplay is more important) People would laugh . You can't say 'oohh CONTROLS! either because, well it's bullshit. It has nothing to do with game design. oh and for the record, Halo bought a ridiculous amount of new ideas in. Have you never played it? It changed everything about the genre.

DLC might be an issue, but Valve are bringing the TF2 DLC over to 360 soon. Shame it's months late and won't revive the game. I played it today and it was so boring. Nobody used mics, nobody played as a team. It was bullshit.

This game looks shit. I hate the phrase 'good for a wii game' because all it does is highlight that the Wii can't possibly handle a good modern FPS. It can't do physics, AI, graphics or animation to any quality to keep up with the current crop of the genre, and this game just comes out looking like an N64 shooter.

Blazing Saddles Comedy perfection, this. Classic Brooks send up of the Western, racism and just about anything that gets in his way. I was raised on this film and I've probably seen it about 30 times. Genius.

Watched Blazing Saddles with a friend just now and she'd not seen it before. Quite possibly the best comedy evar! Also very amusing to watch with a first timer. Thing is, They're not exactly sitting on their hands all day are they? They have 3 or more games in production, all of which are on two platforms already. They carry weight with steam, but they're still just one studio.
