I've been playing my mate a fair bit and he's a tiny bit better than me. He won 6 games in a row and almost every round came down to about a single medium punch of life each. It was insanely frustrating but he's still really fun to fight- not least beause he favours charge characters and I rarely get the chance to play them, XBL ranked being the way it is.

I did something lethal with Gouken yesterday. It was kind of an accident though so I'm not sure exactly what happened. I think: I did an EX dragon punch dash thing punched them in the air/ possibly cancelled something ULTRA all before they hit the floor

The devil's in the details. There's a world of difference between Ryu, Ken and Segat. Even more so between those guys and Gouken. lolz

Cyclops' powers aren't *that* absurd: his eyes are solar batteries that expend their energy as kenetic force. To me, that makes way more sense than, say, Storm or Magneto because they control forces totally alien to their biology. ignorance is bliss though, especially with the 'Omega' Mutants (prof x, jean grey, magneto, franklin richards et al)

....unless the origin and such of powers is of huge importance seriously though, ambiguous explanation ftw. If I ever did write this thing, I'd need enough background to convey the changes wrought on the characters- particularly their perceptions and the like. In the case of telepathy, it could change the nature of every conversation you'd ever have. That would be a huge impact on the way you saw the world and people.

Yeah it's hard to come up with a semi credible sci fi reason for it. It is particularly far fetched, even amongst super powers. I was thinking perhaps a 6th 'sense' that can observe and manipulate brain waves by 'tuning' the telepath's own brain to a kind of frequency. Something like that, anyway. I'm not interested in really elaborate powers, though. I'd rather keep it 'low fantasy'

It's not a totally original idea- it's kinda inspired by stuff like those bits in Watchmen where they all smoke different stuff than tobacco because Dr Manhattan exists. It got me thinking: Would a flying man rewrite the laws of physics? What would telepathy reveal about the human brain? etc. More to the point, what would be the psychological impact be on people who could do that kind of stuff? That's what I want to write about, not just stuff like dudes being punched through buildings:heh:

Here's my idea in a nutshell: In a near future, the world is on the brink of a make or break crisis of resources, ecological conditions and resulting geopolitical fallout. With the decline of the planet, the inexplicable dawn of the superhuman has occurred. In a kind of 'Jason Bourne meets x-men' style, world governments are engaged in a new Cold War- only nukes have been replaced with superhumans. Whoever controls them controls the benefits their powers could lead to and they can dictate the political and economical course of the next phase in history, much like America does today having established dominance with their nuclear arsenal over the USSR. The action would focus on a team of superhumans and their human 'handlers' operating out of Europe, engaged in a kind of covert war for new superhumans. I have a few more in depth ideas for it but that's the basics. Now if only I knew a really good artisté

Dollhouse Ep2 As I predicted, the show is greatly improved now that it's established what the frak the premise is. Hints of the wider storyline and more time spent outside the dollhouse and Echo's assignment were welcome diversions, and Eliza is a compelling protagonist, mmm yes. -
probably. Every time I play against him, good players have just minced me by going in to a crouch and charge partitioning a shit load of sonic booms and flash kicks. Euargh.

I actually have a really good idea for a comic in my head. I don't know any artists though and I think it would be hard to convince anyone my idea is good enough to pour the insane man hours required to draw such a thing.

I just got to about 550 Got to 7 wins on the trot (Tiger knee!) before some dude took me down with Sakura. Was a good fight though so I'm not too pissed. Just a bit peeved that I couldn't get an ultra off- would have won me the game...

initial impressions are that Gouken is a bit of a fucking baddass. Totally defensive player: his charge fireball, anti air fireball and stationary hurricane kick all add up to a character that's best used with the enemy coming for you. He's slow but immensely strong and his ability to lay out some serious hurt on the counter is just awesome. Need a bit more practice though. Takes a while to get your head around all his moves being totally inverse to usual shoto rules.

umm, that stuff about no perfects and ultras is BS. I Took out just about every fucker in the game with Tiger Destruction and got Gouken.

ok you need to: Do Arcade with Akuma, no continues Do Arcade with Anyone and get 2 perfects and at least 3 Ultra finishers. note: I think if you perfect someone in round one, then ultra in round 3 the ultra cancels out your perfect my advice is to missile spam the first two characters for a perfect on very easy and then go apeshit with as many ultra combos as you want till Seth is a crumpled sack of turd.
