    was it one of those combo players like a mini hi fi? Sony do a killer range of those for under £100 or so. I had one right up till I got my proper stack together and it's still really good.

    I can't stand this notion that the only reason to the cinema is to see something uplifting and 'fun'. It's a false notion cooked up to defend poor cinema when people say 'I'd rather be entertained than see something heavy' in a way that suggests that depth is somehow inconsolable with entertainment. Cinema has the potential to engage audiences with the full spectrum of emotions and stimulations but has somehow become all about Michael Bay movies. What the fuck happened to the 1970s spirit in Hollywood?

    Still need to see this. The book is as good as OW said so I'm intrigued to see how they pull it off. I would say that there is a slight glint of hope in the book though, although only in the sense that their relationship is rather beautiful. Most depressing film I've ever seen is a Russian movie called The Return. It's so emotionally bleak that I just really wanted a hug when it was over. Again, still a pretty decent film though.

    That's 110 currently reading them myself. It's rather superb. sadly, I think I've got as far as he goes in the book as Secret Invasion just ended so obviously a new roster is due. I don't think Ellis would have written Dark Avengers as well but T-Bolts is basically the same idea between Civil War and Secret Invasion. With added crazy.

    I beleive so. And Hawkeye led West Coast Avengers. New Avengers was always less clear but Luke had the defacto leadership for a while untill Clint came back as Ronin. One believes Michael is attempting to tell us that he owns all of New Avengers first printings.

    Good point...Could switch up Spider-Man and Spider-Woman although missing out on Spider-Man/ Beast banter could be a crime against the U.N charter on Human Rights. I'll have to check. Alternatively, Give Hank Pym a solo title as a sci fi Indiana Jones type affair and make Hawkeye team leader to make room for Spider-Woman I've left myself no room for Ms. Marvel. Unpleasant business.

    I just read that. Way I see it: They'll keep three books. Avengers: Academy has been confirmed as a replacement for The Initiative and they could easily field two teams of Avengers or maybe do a bi-weekly Mighty Avengers with a rotating cast. Largely symbolic move, I reckon.
