The Xperia is my by HTC, it's development name was the HTC Kovsky You should have a pretty good idea of what HTC devices are like. There's a good few mobiles you could get your missus to try; Nokia E90, LG Prada II, Google G1, HTC Touch Pro (of those the E90 has the best keyboard). Or for full touch-screen, the Blackberry Storm, HTC Touch HD, Nokia 5800, Samsung Omnia, Apple iPhone. I'd expect she'll get on better with a resistive touch screen than a capacitive one, nails don't work on cap screens. I know my mum has trouble with her Touch because of this. As for the X1, if you want i could post up some links to apps that i've found really helpful on mine. Try Resco Contacts for a start: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.resco.net%2Fpocketpc%2Fcontactmanager%2F&ei=Gb2VSb7yCuKJjAeoioSmCw&usg=AFQjCNEu91enxRNYkCy9tVhTn6YpiYyKVw&sig2=M-lcTUE1-K8nErEEdTkZUw Oh, and the latest version of PointUI has just been released. Been waiting on this for weeks, it looks awesome!

Been trying the beta today. The game is good but it crashes a lot (3 times in 3 hours!) and the matchmaking doesn't seem to take in to account lag (getting paired up with people from the other side of the world and then being kicked for being laggy = not fun). Should be good, but they've got some kinks to iron out. I'll pick it up in the summer

UK overtakes Japan as 2nd biggest gaming market in the world
McPhee replied to Pyxis's topic in Other Consoles
Maybe because "The UK is now the 2nd biggest games market!" makes for a good story, while "Europe's games market is still smaller than the US!" does not? What is really incredible though is just how much the UK population is buying in to video games. There's only 60 Million people in this country vs 130 Million in Japan and 305 Million in the US. We're pretty much the biggest gaming culture on the planet now (or maybe just the easiest victims to capitalism :p) -
Sounds about right. Definitely free for PC users then, can't see Valve charging for content that they've essentially already made...

They were solid and enjoyable, but nowt special.

Valve's extra content has always been free on PC. They've already said that they'll be charging for it on the 360, but only because Microsoft want paying in exchange for hosting the content. It'll be as cheap as they can possibly make it.

That's why you do the completely un-racist thing of completely forgetting Africa exists. Or, you could always just make all the white-folk in Africa the Zomies and have the natives hunt them. See, two completely un-racist solutions right there I get the point, it's just a VERY tedious link. It's like saying Braveheart is offensive to Scots (which it kinda is, but only due to how shite it was).
-
In the game it took a virus to turn the African population into savage monsters. That is not the same as saying that Africans are savage monsters, in fact it is quite the opposite argument. The non-infected African population are perfectly normal human beings and not "sub-human" in any way/shape/form. Of the two parties it is Eurogamer's article that is in fact more racist. To be racist you need to make a distinction between races, which Capcom's Resident Evil series does not. Eurogamer, however, attempt to make a distinction.

Far from the only one. Cajun Squirell sounds the nicest, but only by process of elimination...

Setting causes tension and horror. Story and emotional attatchment are very important. You won't get those things from a 2 level demo, just wait and see what the full game is like.

Not a footy person, but i admit i was tempted when i saw this at £17.99 in HMV Covent Garden yesterday! Does look propa good!

They should've done Haggis, Neeps and Tatties (or just Haggis alone) flavour! Will have a try, but none of them sound very good

Same here. In all honesty i think there probably is such a thing as "God" in some sense. I just doubt it's all that impressed by all this worship and the arguments that this worship (note: not religion itself) causes.

CD Projekt Red are handling the PC port? I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing :p Great developer but they've had some trouble getting their games bug-free... Gonna try the demo this afty Cannae wait!

I know they look absolutely su-bleedin-perb on my set. Pure was especially stunning Not tried Halo 3 yet.

Just thought i'd have a look at what you were talking about and i really can't believe they charge that amount for the components in a Mac Pro! Comparisons are low in number, but from the little i've seen the base model i7 can keep up with the dual Xeon setup of the Pro's (they yield similar Folding@Home results, for example). A similar performing i7 system (low-end GPU, 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD) could be done for £600 + the price of the OS! If gaming is the priority then a machine could be built for less than £500 that would knock the socks off of a £2k Mac Pro... Apple need to refresh those machines really, really badly. Maybe make two versions? A Phenom II based system starting at around the £850/£900 mark and an i7 system starting at about £1200.

PDZ always felt like a PC shooter to me. I'm not sure why, it just had that feel to it...

My reasoning is 2x4830 = £180-ish, 2x4830 = £240-ish. If i need more power than a single 4830 then no great loss. I'd be a lot less keen on buying another 4850. However, it's all moot for now. Got a refund on the 3870 and borrowed an x1950 XTX off a mate. Should tide me over for a while, long enough to get a Phenom II upgrade anyhow
-
Windows Firewall (because it uses basically no extra system resources and has zilcho compatability problems) and AVG (because they gave me the full edition for free <3)
-
Isn't the 3200 an integrated chip? If so you should be contacting your motherboard (or PC) manufacturer for an update. Anyhow, you probably do want the whole lot. CCC can be very useful (not sure what the media one is myself to be honest...)

I'm not sure on specifics as i've never had to do it (and can't test it) but i believe you need to use this program: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/astrayplus

Yeah, i'd say go for it! I've got no complaints about mine For reference i paid £900 back in October. If you're looking at more that £1k for it then i'd seriously consider a PZ80 or PZ85 with a separate Freesat box. It all depends how much your dad wants the Freesat built in though really.
