  1. It's Rockstar, to them the Daily Mail is free publicity. The title will be done on purpose for that very reason
  2. Awww. Who changed the thread title
  3. I sold the SNES a couple of years back. The NES still works, though there's a loose connection in the internal power supply that needs resoldering, but that was due to wear and tear (unplugging, plugging back in, moving it around a lot and generally not taking as good care of it as i should).
  4. The new Arcades have HDMI ports too. Anything labeled Arcade, Pro or Elite will have them. Anything labeled Premium or Core probably won't. I made the switch before Christmas. Sold my old Premium to my bro for £80 and then bought a Pro from work for about £110 (staff discount + a really good offer on at the time). TBH if you find a good bundle pack then the upgrade is never going to be that expensive anyway. Gamestation regularly chuck in a couple of new releases and a 2nd pad for the RRP.
  5. Wierd controllers? Why? Just why? It practically kills the game... The bastard son of a PS2 pad and a PC trackball mouse! A modified chainsaw controller. http://www.chainsawcontroller.com/ The OCZ NIA. Control games with your mind!!!! The Alphagrip. Every single keyboard button on a control pad. Improves your typing speed apparently... The single handed 360 controller. Play no longer interrupts beer drinking Microsoft's Sidewinder: Dual Strike I had one of them! Was bloomin awesome! I wonder where it's gotten to? Bet the rents threw it out when they moved house
  6. It works, i used to use the same cables for both back in the days when i was too young to realise that it could have killed one of the machines :p
  7. So, i'm completely and utterly pissed off with Media Player, suddenly it doesn't want to play any of my old iTunes files (i'm sure i had it working before i did a windows reinstall the other week). Tried Songbird, i like it but i'm having the same problem. iTunes is a no-no, i found it irritating and it's bloatware these days really (used to love it a few years back but the recent updates have been a step backwards). Any suggestions? I hear Media Monkey is good, same goes for WinAmp.
  8. A broken MBR is no reason to buy a new PC really, the PC itself still works it's just one of the files on the hard drive is screwed. If you can aquire an XP disk (assuming you're on XP? Vista if you're on Vista) then you can fix it easily enough. If not then a temporary solution would be to get someone to download the Windows 7 Release Candidate and install that. It'll have a file in it called Windows.Old, all of your old files will be in there.
  9. Phone MS and tell them you're having authenication problems, explain what happens. They should be able to sort it out from their end easily enough.

I see a games console with the Konami logo on it in the trees, ZOMG! New gaming platform from Konami!!!!!! Or... maybe they're making a new Animal Crossing. We have houses and "people" so it makes sense :p
  11. You love grunge but you don't know of Pearl Jam? That's like being in to football and asking who the hell that Alex Ferguson guy is :p
  12. Excellent! An odd choice of band to have their own game, but a good one nonetheless! Can't wait for the release, i might actually buy it
  13. Hold off buying an iPhone/Pre? Interesting, infers that they're releasing a Zune phone
  14. There is the rare occasion where you'll time everything perfectly out of luck and unleash a combo that gets rid of pretty much all of your opponent's health bar. It's rare though, unlike most fighters the timings in Street Fighter are pretty tight.
  15. Same worries here. First though was "not my thing", 2nd was "ooh, Motown!" and 3rd was "they're gonna fuck Motown up, aren't they?" You missed GH: Greatest Hits :p Seven games!
  16. No, it wasn't spam. It was stuff relating to a post i shouldn't have made. Haptic touch screens are hardly new or Apple exclusive, the Blackberry Storm did it last year and the Storm 2 will improve on the idea this year. Nokia announced a working prototype at the end of 2007 and Samsung have a haptic model on it's way to market. The tech still won't replace the hardware keyboard though. All it does is add a click to each keystroke, there's still no definition between keys. It also bumps up the bulk of the device (the screen has to move) almost rendering any thickness advantages null and void. Personally i don't think they should bother. A hardware keyboard is better for typing and it won't take up valuable screen space. If they can work out how to get one in to the iPhone while keeping it thinner than the 1st Gen iPhone then it'd be the sensible way to go.
  17. What posts? The idle spam? drop it...
  18. Seems like a bit of a niche thing, heck this thread is the second result in Google for "Community Broadband Projects"! What's the idea? Residents pay for their own exchange upgrade? Or we purchase our own line? I never even knew it was possible, but if it is i'm definitely interested!
  19. It's not a Vista problem, either the driver or the hardware is nackered. There shouldn't be any new laptops shipping with compatability issues. To be frank it does sound pretty disgraceful, the main reason to buy a pre-built machine is because the manufacturer should have the kinks ironed out. If there isn't an update on their website and they don't have a solution then i'd send it straight back...
  20. I flogged my SE stick, waste of money. I know this goes against everything Street Fighter, but i actually prefer the analogue stick. Sure, charge moves are a pain in the arse but overall i find it smoother. Certainly the stick wasn't worth the £75 it cost me even if it did make some moves easier.
  21. Turrah dude. It's a shame to think that you can't bare to visit these forums any more, i know i'll miss ya! Take care and i hope that your life manages to sort itself out
  22. Yup, i love it! Can get hard as nails though, but that's the point in it's existence!
  23. We should kill them all then invade their countries and conduct mass-genocide until they realise that they are in-fact a sub-species. A new era of the British Empire! Who's with me?
  24. Soul Calibur IV is hard?!?!!? New to me... Looking forward to this. Getting more and more tempted to grab a PSP, fantastic little device!
  25. IIRC getting a BD drive working on a Mac Pro is a lot of hassle, seen a few forum topics on it. Will try and dig them up for you, it invlolves boot-camp, sata-ide adaptors and a lot of fiddling with drivers. Might be remembering wrong though and it may have just been certain drives/Mac Pros. Saitek Eclipse for the keyboard. Excellent build quality, had mine for over a year now and it's been a gem! Hear good things about the Eclipse II and III too. Flip-Phones are out of fassion at the moment, Combine that with high manufacturing costs (two screens + a hinge in the middle of the phone) and the result is there aren't many new ones. Had a look a month or two ago for a friend and there's basically the Nokia 6600 Flip (crap), Sony Ericsson Z750 (the usual SE build quality) and Blackberry Pearl 8110 (HUUUUUGE!). You might have better look if it's places like CEX you're looking though. Struggling to remember model names of good flip handsets but will have a dig and get back to you.
