  1. 2002?!?!?!? Blimey, certainly doesn't feel like it was that long ago! Christ, it's like i'm part of the furniture (well, not as bad as Ashley )
  2. The redirect wouldn't bloody work, took me a good 20 minutes to get back in here, by which time i thought i actually was banned
  3. My stick arrived today. It's glorious! Now to test it out!
  4. There's nothing to say that it works in that way though, people are assuming that they're running a traditional PC set-up on a large scale. Why would you render video, then encode it in real time and beam it down the wire? It'd be much more sensible to find a way to do the rendering at the user's end. Similarly, why would you have each user running in his own copy of the game if you can find a way to have multiple users with their own "world" inside a single instance of the game? I might not be making much sense here, i may even be barking up the wrong tree. I'm sure that the only way to get this to work would be with some clever thinking at the game coding level though.
  5. I got put off by the sort of people who went last year, and this line-up is definitely enough to put the last nail in the coffin. I shouldn't have to be confiscating fireworks off a bunch of "rave" kids who think it's clever to light them and throw them at each other Same goes for the "we're gonna have a riot here at 2am!" kids, they missed the point completely. The old Leeds riots were genuinely violent, a result of heavy-handed security clashing with punters. Last year it was a bunch of kids smacked off their faces on Es causing destruction to festival property, festival goers property and public property in the name of "fun". The final straw was seeing a bunch of lads pull a wall down, which landed on a bunch of tents. Luckily they were empty... Download and (hopefully) Sziget festival for me this year. Download has the better line-up and is a lot safer, and apparently Sziget is great fun!
  6. It looks... incredible! Release date?
  7. A lot of guess work in that article, it doesn't actually prove anything about OnLive. All they've proven is that if the system works in the way that they assume it does then it's impossible. Personally i'd like something a bit more concrete, maybe written by people who actually know what they're talking about. Still, none to fussed about the tech myself. If it works it looks like it'll be aimed at the console market rather than the PC crowd, hardware upgrades are safe :p
  8. The line-up is pretty meh this year, not impressed at all. I think i've done Reading + Leeds enough now, the line-ups are getting boring for me. Tempted to go for the Radiohead day as there's a few bands playing that i want to see, but it's a long way to go for a day and i doubt i'll get a ticket.
  9. PM me your address and i'll send you one
  10. Already a thread on this dude, sorry.
  11. http://store.gameshark.net/brand/sfiv.htm Fight sticks in-stock Not sure if i should order one or not... EDIT: I just bought mine. And to think, before the game came out i couldn't justify a £27 controller... i feel sick
  12. Can you guys start naming these by the hour? Nearly got caught out by your spoilers there!
  13. Amazon still seem to think they're dispatching my Hori stick on the 6th March. Time for a complain email methinks...
  14. 24? Believable? I'm re-watching Season 3 at the moment, S7 is certainly more believable than that. They seem to play out a mini-plot, then forget it existed, move on, play out the next one. Not my favourite season by far (2 was the best, by a LONG shot).
  15. The hydraulics used to open/close the saferoom doors would be my guess. Burst the tanks, let them leak, add a spark (created by the firing mechanism in the gun) and "BOOM!"
  16. Yeah, you'll be long gone from Thailand by the time i get there. Planning on leaving my job at the end of June, then i've got tickets for Blur in Hyde Park on the 3rd July so it'll be some time after that. Current plan is to be in Bangkok for a week from around the 12th, then Cambodia for a few days (2 in Phnom Penh, 1 at Angkor), another day or so to travel up to Hanoi. I should be there from around the 24th. It's a bit of a whistle-stop tour, especially if i plan on getting the Trans-Siberian railway back (money dependant, and it means swapping Laos for Bejing). I'm aiming to be in Budapest by the 12th August for Sziget festival. I've not got a huge amount of time to squeeze it all in really. My Uni course starts mid-August and each thing i add to the "To Do" list cuts in to that limited time a bit more. Sziget takes a week, the TS Railway another 6 days, flights take another day. That's 2 weeks gone before i even consider what i want to see while i'm there.
  17. You should be able to access the UK store no bother. You can access any store you like on the PC if you have a valid CC and address from that country, i can't see the Touch being any different. Best answer would be to eMail Apple's support and ask, though they might not give you a straight answer. If not then try asking over at iLounge, i'm sure someone will have tried it before. Also, when is it you're heading over there? I'm heading the Thailand in the summer, then probably North through Laos to Vietnam and then south to Cambodia. Finances depending i might see if i can fit some other countries in as well.
  18. Alien Hominid is the Ikaruga of side scrolling beat em ups, absolutely insane and very, very hard. I love it though, once you get used to it it becomes fun and the difficulty becomes a challenge rather than an irritation.
  19. A much better idea really, the Elite didn't serve a lot of purpose after the 60GB Pro came out. The red 360 is really cool, and a pretty good price really.
  20. I'm tempted myself, it's the one and only chance i'll get to see one of the greats of music. Then again, he's hardly a great of music anymore. 15 years ago would have been ideal...

    WATCHMEN

Read the journal entry at the start of the book. Rorschach wanted the same thing as Vedit, a new, uncorrupt world. The difference is in their methods, their morals and their expected outcomes. Rorschach lost, and from his point of view Vedit is damning the world (along with the fact that under his view Vedit should be dead for what he has done). He probably did want to die at the end of the book, there's no way he'd want to live in that world. He was crying for the souls of the Billions who, in his view, Vedit is condemning.
  22. They came in stock last week for like an hour or two, i did put a post up in both this thread and the 360 one. I "got" one but they haven't dispatched it, so i guess i didn't get it as other people who ordered have received theirs!
  23. That'd be nice. Sadly Amazon are a bunch of muppets and still haven't dispatched the one i ordered 10 days ago. The estimated dispatch date is still showing as 2/3/09 too I'd cancel, but i used a gift voucher and i'm not sure if it'll work again if a cancel the order
  24. Are awesome. And this time i WILL make it back with their album, drunken antics resulted in me vaulting a wall and landing on the CD last time Wound up with a sprained (and very swollen) ankle too, but it was the CD that i was upset about
