  1. I've got one of these that i don't use/need; http://www.ebuyer.com/product/50127 You interested?
  2. Found what i was looking for now, Blackberry SureType; Easily the best way of typing one-handed. Someone just needs to find a way to get one of these, a hardware QWERTY keyboard and a touch screen in to a single device while making it smaller than a Nokia E90 The only thing i've seen come even close to that is the stupidly long HTC S740 Might actually get one if they do a new version based on the Touch Pro 2/Diamond 2 design.
  3. QWERTY here, much faster. Takes a bit of practice (and big hands) to do it one handed but it's do-able. Somene needs to develop a phone with a lanscape QWERTY and the Blackberry keypad for portrait. That'd be perfect
  4. calm down dear, it's just a commercial!
  5. Panny did buy a lot of Pioneer's TV tech though when Pio pulled out of the TV business. Having said that it's not likely to affect new models til next year, the deal happened way to late for this year's models to be upgraded. Try hdtvtest.co.uk for reviews, cracking site!
  6. Bloomin shame the Pio 5090 has popped back up over the £2k mark, when it was at the ~£1600 mark it completely shat on anything and everything priced anywhere near it Ah well, the budget is £1500 not £2k... The G10 would get my vote. Own a PZ81 and love it! The G10 is supposed to be a tad better, can't see how you could lose with it!
  7. Your issue is quite simple. For some reason you seem to think that the people reading this thread care what the local chavs think of this device. Most (if not all of us) don't care! From what info is available on this device it does seem like it'll be something i want. They could use MSDos for the UI and i'd still sodding well want one. The harware looks good, the specs are cracking (Tegra + OLED is pretty much a garauntee of class-leading picture quality) and all in all i'm very interested. Whether or not it will click with the wider market remains to be seen. All you're doing is ranting against it based on the spec sheet being good. As for original features, there's no such thing (as you should know fine well, look at the iPhone). Originality is in the package of features available and how they are tied together. The Zune has always done this well in the past and will hopefully continue to do so.
  8. Announcement up now. Basically it was time to let go, a single thread for all Apple products, troubleshooting and Apple-related discussion was just silly.
  9. Nice Kinda annoying that media players are getting so good and yet very few actually have a SIM card slot. With these touch screen players all having web browsers it'd be great to add one, i'd flog my phone straight away (not including the Archos 5G here, it's too big!). Resistive does have the advantage of responding to finger nails though, which is kinda handy because you can use your whole finger to control rather than just the tip. If they could refine it to react a little bit better then i'd pick it over a cap screen every time. I've heard the Touch HD comes close? WinMo 6.5 is just 6.1 with a new front-end (or it is on the Betas i've used). The back end (i.e. the most complained about part of WinMo) is still a stylus job. It needs 3rd party software to make it finger friendly (like the new Touchflo that'll be debuting on the Diamond 2).
  10. If Joint Ops could manage 164 players five years ago i can't see why 256 can't be done today. Not got a lot of confidence in the game though, the more players the more confusing and free-for-all these games become...
  11. What is it that you're wanting it to do? WinMo will go online and fetch emails at intervals set by you. It won't deliver them like text messages (i.e. as soon as they arrive in your GMail inbox). For that you'd need Blackberry Connect, which i believe is a subscription service. I'd ask over at XDA-Developers about the streaming thing, someone there will know. I had a look but couldn't find anything. It's definitely possible, it's just a case of has anybody other than you ever needed that feature :p EDIT: Have a read; http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=The%20UPnP%20Bible From that i gather that this program should do what you're after; http://www.conduits.com/products/player/ Hope this helps
  12. Yeah, it was an ingenious idea! Lets give a bank with no money that is on the verge of going broke a nice big damages bill. If it's not the bank thats paying for it then it'll be an insurance company instead, and they're not exactly in financial wonderland at the moment either... Why bother holding people accountable? It would just be a complete waste of time, effort and money right now. We need to leave the blame for tomorrow and concentrate on getting out of this bloody mess. At least we have a good chance of surviving if we act now, unlike Ireland or Iceland, who are both completely and utterly screwed! As for the protesting, becoming more political rather than an out of control rabble would be a good start. Being more rational, clear and reasoned on what you want to achieve is also helpful. All that will happen with these London protests is they'll be dismissed as another gathering of angry fools out for blood with no understanding of the implications of their demands. All that achieves is overshadowing the political problem with a social one. The politics of the people behind the burning would no longer count, it'd just be the burning of the City that would remain. The media machine is far too powerful now for a violent revolt down the lines of the French Revolution to happen, you'd look like a bunch of jokes before the first week was over. Look at the papers, they're already taking the piss out of the people that broke in to RBS, and the ones who tried to loot Tesco. They've written them off as a bunch of clueless skinheads and university drop-outs, which is how the world will remember them. If the people who went to protest really want to make a difference then they need to get organised and gain some vision. Form a political party and fight the government in Parliament, if the people of this country really believe that you have the answer to our problems then you'd get elected, right? It'd certainly be a lot more productive than trying to tell the cat to chase an apple rather than a mouse.
  13. 2002?!?!?!? Blimey, certainly doesn't feel like it was that long ago! Christ, it's like i'm part of the furniture (well, not as bad as Ashley )
  14. The redirect wouldn't bloody work, took me a good 20 minutes to get back in here, by which time i thought i actually was banned
  15. My stick arrived today. It's glorious! Now to test it out!
  16. There's nothing to say that it works in that way though, people are assuming that they're running a traditional PC set-up on a large scale. Why would you render video, then encode it in real time and beam it down the wire? It'd be much more sensible to find a way to do the rendering at the user's end. Similarly, why would you have each user running in his own copy of the game if you can find a way to have multiple users with their own "world" inside a single instance of the game? I might not be making much sense here, i may even be barking up the wrong tree. I'm sure that the only way to get this to work would be with some clever thinking at the game coding level though.
  17. I got put off by the sort of people who went last year, and this line-up is definitely enough to put the last nail in the coffin. I shouldn't have to be confiscating fireworks off a bunch of "rave" kids who think it's clever to light them and throw them at each other Same goes for the "we're gonna have a riot here at 2am!" kids, they missed the point completely. The old Leeds riots were genuinely violent, a result of heavy-handed security clashing with punters. Last year it was a bunch of kids smacked off their faces on Es causing destruction to festival property, festival goers property and public property in the name of "fun". The final straw was seeing a bunch of lads pull a wall down, which landed on a bunch of tents. Luckily they were empty... Download and (hopefully) Sziget festival for me this year. Download has the better line-up and is a lot safer, and apparently Sziget is great fun!
  18. It looks... incredible! Release date?
  19. A lot of guess work in that article, it doesn't actually prove anything about OnLive. All they've proven is that if the system works in the way that they assume it does then it's impossible. Personally i'd like something a bit more concrete, maybe written by people who actually know what they're talking about. Still, none to fussed about the tech myself. If it works it looks like it'll be aimed at the console market rather than the PC crowd, hardware upgrades are safe :p
  20. The line-up is pretty meh this year, not impressed at all. I think i've done Reading + Leeds enough now, the line-ups are getting boring for me. Tempted to go for the Radiohead day as there's a few bands playing that i want to see, but it's a long way to go for a day and i doubt i'll get a ticket.
  21. Personally i'd rank a full QWERTY keyboard as a must have in a smart phone. The Nokia E90 converted me, sublime keyboard! While the one on the X1 isn't as good it's still far better than using an on-screen keyboard and a lot faster than T9 (phone keypad) or SureType (Blackberry). Thickness wise i'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about. Obviously it's not as thin as the Touch HD/iPhone but it's hardly unreasonable. I've just put it next to my old W810i and they're about the same. Considering it's packing a full QWERTY keyboard, touch screen and more powerful components in to that space it's pretty impressive. By modern phone standards it's slightly thinner than the N96 As for weight, it definitely feels solid :p Would i recommend it? Maybe. With the Touch Pro 2 just around the corner it's a difficult one. Out of the box the OS on the X1 is a bit poor, it's not as fast as it could be and there's no Touchflo to hide Windows Mobile (and Panels, but they only go so far). The next update is due next month, using a beta of it now and it's a big improvement, but still the basic WinMo UI. If you're prepared to tinker with it, installing optomisations, tweaks and maybe even custom ROMs then it's a great handset, from a hardware perspective it's the best Windows device available to this country (the HTC WiMax is better, but Russia only). If you're after a simple device that functions really well from the off then wait for the Touch Pro 2, the new Touchflo 3D is really good and pretty much masks over the Windows interface completely (even stuff like messaging is now done within TF3D!).
  22. Fantastic handset, isn't it? Try this site for tips and tweaks; http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=451 It takes a bit of getting in to, but there's loads of useful info on there, a great selection of apps and some good tweaks that will make the device run smoother. Some of the stuff never ceases to amaze me, currently running the new Touchflo found on the Touch Pro 2 on my Xperia and it's smooth as silk! (bar a memory leak, but that's being fixed). Contemplating trying a WinMo 6.5 beta next.
  23. PM me your address and i'll send you one
  24. Already a thread on this dude, sorry.
  25. http://store.gameshark.net/brand/sfiv.htm Fight sticks in-stock Not sure if i should order one or not... EDIT: I just bought mine. And to think, before the game came out i couldn't justify a £27 controller... i feel sick
